The Opportunity 

To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for a Paralegal to join our Legal team. In this role, you will focus on corporate, compliance, employment, and litigation matters. The position will report to the Head of Corporate and Compliance and will work very closely with other members of the legal team and Grammarlians throughout the Company.

The successful candidate will be highly detail-oriented, responsive in a fast-paced environment, and able to juggle competing priorities. A go-getter with a keen sense of judgment, strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and a sense of humor would excel in this role.

In this role, you will:

  • Assist with document preparation and matter management.
  • Assist with securities matters and coordinate with the Equity team.
  • Help develop, implement, and continually improve policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Keeping track of changes in relevant law and providing timely updates on changes.
  • Provide indispensable support to the corporate, compliance, employment, and litigation attorneys.
  • Identify and support various specific projects that may help improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the functional team supported.
  • Onboard new vendors and outside counsel, submit purchase order requests, and process invoices.  

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of paralegal support or equivalent relevant experience supporting attorneys. In-house legal department experience is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in law or with a technology company.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail and ability to review documents accurately and efficiently.
  • A Team player who wants to learn, takes initiative, and can quickly pivot tasks throughout the day.
  • Can maintain complete confidentiality on all matters.

Grammarly takes a market-based approach to compensation, which means base pay may vary depending on your location. Our US locations are categorized into two compensation zones based on proximity to our hub locations.

Base pay may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The expected salary ranges for this position are outlined below by compensation zone and may be modified in the future.

United States:
Zone 1: $123,000 – $154,000/year (USD)
Zone 2: $111,000 – $139,000/year (USD)

About the role

Pay Transparency:

Responsibilities

  • Support end-to-end litigation and arbitration processes, including assistance with all aspects of intake, file set-up, organization and maintenance, tracking, litigation holds, hearing/trial calendar maintenance, discovery, hearings/trials, and active case support.
  • Gather, organize, review, summarize, and index documents from multiple sources.
  • Handle subrogation, mail and subpoena triage processes.
  • Develop and prepare reports.
  • Maintain and administer litigation support databases.
  • Help with vendor implementation, onboarding, and support.
  • Provide legal and administrative support to attorneys, including legal research and coordination of requests. 
  • Communicate with internal partners and external entities.
  • Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience  
  • 2+ years of paralegal experience at a top tier law firm and/or in-house+ years experience performing legal research under attorney supervision and proficient in redlining and editing capabilities of Word and Google Docs and other Google Suite applications.

 Your Mission

Reporting to the VP, Legal Affairs you will provide a broad range of legal administrative support, ranging from commercial contract lifecycle management, support on internal queries and involvement in corporate administrative processes.

  •  Overseeing the contract lifecycle process, including planning, collaboration, negotiation, execution and coordinate the signing process for contracts and other legal documents
  • Ensure proper filing of legal documents - Execute administrative and operational processes for the legal team and Keep the legal management database up to date (corporate, contracts, IP)
  • Maintain and file corporate records, including resolutions, proxies, board of director changes, annual reports, etc
  • Assist with the preparation of appropriate draft documents, including agendas, corporate resolutions and meeting minutes for board of director and committee meetings

  • Direct exposure to the negotiation and management of commercial contracts is needed.

The US-based salary range for this position is $115,000 to $150,000.
