Lead Developer - React Native App Developer [REMOTE]
VeriClock is a fast growing software company based in the beautiful City of Vancouver that provides a best-in-class scheduling and time tracking solution. Established in 2010, we have gained an excellent foothold in markets throughout North America.
While we are based in Vancouver, we are now a fully remote working environment and are interviewing for this role by video conference. We are considering eligible candidates for this role from any location across Canada.
We are looking for an experienced developer to lead the development team for our suite of React Native apps. We are replacing our aging Xamarin app with React-Native using typescript. You will have experience building and shipping React Native apps in the past, ideally with typescript, while managing other developers on your team. You are familiar with the difficulties of team management, particularly while working remotely, and have strategies to address them.
You will work closely with the CTO and Senior developers to plan and execute the technical vision. Numerous challenges await including interfacing with GPS on devices reliably on a tight battery budget, working with the device's camera, NFC and potentially other hardware to assist with the business logic our users are looking for. Our app must work while offline/no internet, and so there are unique data sync challenges to be overcome. User privacy and data security is a top concern and your experience with best practices in these areas will be an asset.
As the team lead, you will make recommendations for team additions and assist in interviewing and selecting candidates to join this team and the web/backend teams, as well as assist team members with technical designs and provide mentorship as needed.
Experience developing for Android and iOS using React Native
Experience in using Typescript, ideally with React Native (or other typed languages)
Must Have
