About the Role -The Law Enforcement Response (LER) Associate will sit on Instacart’s Safety & Claims team and report to the Law Enforcement Response and Information Security Ops Lead. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Legal and other stakeholders in this role. You must be able to operate with a high degree of confidentiality.

  • Field time-sensitive inquiries (including emergency requests) from law enforcement regarding Instacart’s policies around disclosing user data

  • Draft responses to valid subpoenas, warrants, and court orders with precision and attention to detail

About You

Minimum Qualifications

We are looking for economists and machine learning engineers to join our fast-moving team. The Economics team at Instacart works on a range of interesting and challenging problems, from aligning the incentives in our multi-sided marketplace to analyzing the role of prices and product placement in our customers' decision-making.

The ideal candidate for this role will bring a combination of experience in both economics and machine learning. This might be a recent economics PhD graduate with relevant research experience, typically in  computationally intensive empirical topics, as well as some exposure to machine learning coursework and applications. About the Job

The policy manager will:

  • Analyze legislation, regulations and other policy documents, and manage communication and dissemination of that analysis to colleagues on the PGA team and cross-functional partners, across a diverse set of issues, including labor, future of work, privacy, consumer protection, food and nutrition, supply chain, sustainability and more. 
  • Prepare colleagues across the PGA team for external meetings and events with policy makers, non-profit organizations, and other stakeholders by preparing policy briefs, talking points, collateral or leave behinds, and other material. 
  • Identify trends across policy issues at the local, state and federal levels, educate colleagues, and build, manage and execute strategies to address and respond to those trends.
  • Represent PGA with trade associations and cross-functional partners on Instacart’s legal, communications and other teams to develop and contribute to comments on proposed regulations and other policy documents from regulatory agencies. 
  • Work closely with the Senior Director of Policy & Research Development to develop Instacart’s policy thought leadership and communicate Instacart’s position on a range of policy issues, including by drafting white papers, writing collateral and other public-facing materials, and preparing memos and decks for senior leadership.

The Finance data engineering team plays a critical role in defining how financial data is modeled and standardized for uniform, reliable, timely and accurate reporting.   • Past experience with data immutability, auditability, slowly changing dimensions or similar concepts.
  • Experience building data pipelines for accounting/billing purposes.
  • Experience with cloud-based data technologies such as Snowflake, Databricks, Trino/Presto, or similar.
  • Adept at fluently communicating with many cross-functional stakeholders to drive requirements and design shared datasets.

  • Ability to manage high volume portfolio that could encompass a variety of employment matters, including: litigation; unemployment claims; administrative audits; agency charges; and workers’ compensation claims

About You

Minimum Qualifications

  • J.D. from a top-tier law school.
  • Active membership with at least one state bar (preferably California but not required).
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of related experience in employment litigation and counseling at a leading law firm
  • Deep experience with employment laws in multiple states (including California) across a wide range of issues
  • Proven track record of providing pragmatic and reasoned advice to HR and business partners
  • Excellent writing and communication skill
  • Ability to efficiently handle and organize multiple projects at a time in a fast-paced environment

About the Role 

As we continue our fast growth, we are looking to add to our New Retail Partnerships team. We are hiring a Retail Partnerships Manager to persistently explore, uncover and develop opportunities for the Instacart platform with select retailers. In this role, you will have responsibilities including, but not limited to, finding creative ways to engage strategic grocery and retail partners, articulating compelling solutions aligning with business needs, and managing relationships (external and internal stakeholders) as a trusted advisor, in order to solidify partnerships.

The New Retail Partnerships Team is dedicated to expanding the unique selection of our grocery platform, making shopping effortless and convenient for everyone, forever changing the way people feed themselves, support their households and spend time with their loved ones.

 

About the Job 

  • Client-facing sales and relationship management role within the technology industry for Grocery and Retail Verticals to have them join IC Marketplace and adopt Enterprise Solutions
  • Establish a deep understanding of Instacart's business operations and suite of solutions, including internal processes and competitive context to align solutions to business needs
  • Full funnel pipeline management including prospecting and tailored outreach 
  • Cultivate sales relationship with prospective clients from executive suite, departmental managers to day-to-day SMEs that lead to platform and solution adoption
  • Sell full suite of solutions holistically to optimize client(s) business and maximize impact
  • Negotiate terms, conditions and contractual agreements 
  • Work with internal cross-functional partner teams on product offering and launches
  • Establish best in class processes to help streamline the team’s operations and add value to retailer relationships
  • Some Travel required

 

About You

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years previous experience
  • Persuasive presenter with strong negotiation skills 
  • Demonstrates technical sales skills, strong storytelling, business acumen
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a rapidly evolving business landscape
  • Creative and structured problem-solver, develops pathways to open opportunities, engage clients and accelerate deals
  • Solid stakeholder management skills, both internally and externally 
  • Responds quickly and effectively to build momentum and drive action
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to distill complex issues
  • Ability to manage across functions and present to leadership 
  • Positive, energetic, and influential relationship builder
  • Some travel required

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA preferred, but not required 
  • Enterprise, Saas Selling experience
  • Experience in business development of marketplace ecosystem

The Data Science and Analytics team helps the business make the right decisions, by surfacing opportunities for growth and efficiency and evaluating the impact of product and policy changes. As we continue to change the future of grocery, we want to make decisions based on data rather than just intuition. Our team helps the company identify key growth and efficiency levers, evaluate our investments, and stay accountable to the customers we serve and retailers we enable.

 

 

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Program Manager for this team, you will be responsible for building, optimizing, and scaling programs to strengthen the impact of the team. You will partner with the Data Science and Analytics leadership team as a thought partner to advance the teams’ capabilities. You will also work with other cross-functional teams across the company to drive strategic projects forward. 

 

 

ABOUT THE JOB

  • Foster a culture of excellence; identify and actively look for opportunities to recognize excellent contributions within the teams.
  • Direct strategic initiatives (e.g., Business / Data Science Reviews, Tech Talks) that improve the cross-functional coordination between DS, Analytics, and key cross-functional partners
  • Guide best practices in data and document management, including templates, dashboards, knowledge storage, retention and archiving, and data sharing, ensuring it aligns with broader company information architecture and data storage/privacy guidelines
  • Source, develop, and optimize innovative tools and complex processes that enable us to better understand our customers, shoppers, retailers, brand partners
  • Manage and help grow the team - including hiring, onboarding, and headcount/budget management.
  • Work across teams to manage business rhythm (e.g., creating content for executive/team meetings, driving operating cadence, owning organizational communication/newsletters)
  • Plan and coordinate team offsites

 

 

ABOUT YOU

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6+ years experience working in Operations and/or Program Management
  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and scale programs and best practices that drive business impact
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and leading the team toward solutions that strike the balance between creativity, pragmatism, iteration, and scalability
  • Strong road mapping and prioritization skills; understand how to strategically execute against shifting priorities, while mobilizing the team to do their highest quality work
  • Systems thinker with strong organizational skills and follow-through; effectively executing on the details while understanding the big picture
  • Nurtures strong partnerships with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., Finance, Engineering, Product) to drive forward the team’s initiatives
  • Leads with and encourages growth and owner mindsets within the team

  • Experience at a marketplace tech company and/or late-stage start-up
