Job Description

                                                 We welcome new grads!

The Registered Nurseworks in a dynamic multidisciplinary team providing treatment services according to the Discovery Behavioral Health Clinical Model.

Responsibilities: 

  • Meets with each potential new admission and completes medical screening assessment. Screens for medical appropriateness for admission to facility and consults with the physician.
  • Completes initial nursing assessment (on-site) and full medical admission process upon admission for each client.
  • Ensures all orders from physician/psychiatrist are carried out and any information about clients and their wellbeing is promptly and clearly communicated to physician/ psychiatrist and in treatment team meetings.
  • Develops and initiates the Nursing Care Plan.
  • Counts narcotics each day, logs appropriately.
  • Performs blood draws.
  • Responsible to ensure all the medications needed by the clients are ordered appropriately and available in the facility.
  • Manages and orders supplies and keeps a fully stocked and operational nursing station.
  • Conducts a weekly chart audit to ensure all medications have consent forms. Ensures all  orders are carried out and documented appropriately for each client, all labs are in the client’s chart.
  • Objectively and accurately documents client progress on a daily basis.
  • Assesses client suicidality and possibility of danger to self or others.

This is a remote position, 24-hour on-call for medical needs. With in-person work as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science and Nursing preferred
  • ADN (Associate Degree in Nursing) accepted
  • Holds a current RN license in good standing in CT
  • One year experience preferred working in mental health, counseling, or eating disorders field.
  • Must possess a current Driver’s License in good standing.

Discovery Behavioral Health is hiring a Remote Utilization Review Case Manager - SUD

Job Description

The Utilization Review Case Manager requires effective communication and coordination with the Director of Utilization Review, insurance companies, and treatment team to obtain the maximum benefits for our clients.  The Utilization Review Case Manager will submit accurate utilization reviews on an extremely tight timeline. 

Responsibilities

  • Determine client medical necessity for insurance claims using various criteria and dimensions as dictated by the insurance carriers
  • Work to build a case for medical necessity for potential clients
  • Perform pre-intake assessments for potentially viable clients
  • Work closely with treatment team and admissions staff in clinical determination of clients to help decide their best level of care
  • Conduct chart reviews to ensure clinical documentation matches level of care requested
  • Ensure that authorization match the authorization obtained by you for the correct authorization number, the LOC , the facility, the number of days and the date range.
  • Understanding DSM V diagnosis ICD 10 codes and ASAM criteria and dimensions for all Levels of care.
  • Communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with supervisor and all pertinent staff on your clients.
  • File appeals for denied cases and follow through on that process
  • Timely, organized documentation.  Record keeping must be accurate and thorough.
  • Demonstrate the ability to act as a team player in a professional and positive manner

This is a full-time remote position.

Qualifications

  • Required Master’s Degree minimum
  • Licensed LMFT, LCSW, LVN, or RN
  • Prior experience in doing utilization review for substance use facilities
  • Strong knowledge of ASAM dimensions 1-6
  • Knowledge of DSM-V Codes
  • Knowledge of SUD,IOP, and Mental Health programs
  • Flexibility with schedule to meet critical deadlines is essential.

Job Description

 Job Duties:

  • Oversee patient care coordinators to ensure standard operating procedures are being followed.
  • Travel to our three facilities in Austin 
  • It can also include travel to Dallas and Houston for training purposes 
  • Identify areas of improvement and collaborate with the Practice Manager and Director
  • Weekly Check-ins with care coordinators to review priorities, assess workload, and determine order of importance daily with minimal guidance to assist patients and prospective patients navigate and identify medically necessary service lines based on medical and clinical recommendations.
  • Manages care coordination for all services lines, to include but not limited to TMS, Esketamine, and Ketamine.
  • Provide quarterly trainings with the care coordination team to ensure we are up to date on all practices and procedures.
  • Manage, schedule, and assign consultations to care coordinators.
  • Responsible for initial patient consultations to evaluate the patient and concisely document findings while also educating patients about their treatment options
  • Educates patients about treatment details across all PPS service lines and the patient care plan prior to treatment and concurrently as appropriate during treatment 
  • Facilitate weekly check-ins with clinicians/providers in all service lines to identify patient needs and navigate identified patients into all medically necessary service lines.
  • Successful completion of TMS Certification (internal training and certification provided during the initial period of employment) and ability to treat patients when needed
  • Maintains accurate and descriptive medical and clinical documentation, making sure documentation is legible and concise.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of medical records, authorization forms, laboratory requisitions.
  • Implements and follows through appropriately with consultative intervention.
  • Obtains and documents patient's information for insurance authorizations and fee agreements.
  • Answers telephone in an appropriate and professional manner, takes accurate messages and promptly relays messages to appropriate individuals.
  • Responsible for ensuring patient’s treatment is rendered during approved authorization period
  • Provide excellent and compassionate patient care to create top level patient experiences while providing accurate treatment.
  • Serve as liaison between care providers and patients
  • Use of an Electronic Health Record
  • Build trust and rapport with individuals in order to improve patient care
  • Utilize clinical information and knowledge of medical necessity criteria to effectively communicate plans of care to insurance case managers, facility staff, and healthcare partners
  • Refer clients based on eligibility to TMS treatments, while also identifying the potential need per individual client
  • Prepare and discuss any financial obligations and insurance coverage with clients as it pertains to TMS or other services provided by organization
  • Serves and protects patient confidentiality and physician or health care provider practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and accreditation standards if applicable.

Discovery Behavioral Health is hiring a Remote Psychiatrist

Job Description

The Psychiatrist is responsible for consulting with program leadership and the operations team to ensure appropriate psychiatric/pharmacological interventions.  The Psychiatrist completes an initial thorough evaluation and sees each patient weekly thereafter.  If indicated, medications are prescribed, and monitored by the Psychiatrist at least once weekly. In addition, the Psychiatrist consults as needed with the treatment team and may attend the weekly treatment planning meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Developing appropriate and effective psychopharmacological interventions for psychiatric disorders
  • Interfacing with families of patients for consent and support of psychopharmacological interventions as necessary
  • Effectively identifying, conceptualizing and communicating criteria specific to the level of treatment and formulate and effective appeal for insurance carriers as necessary
  • Effectively interfacing with the treatment team, contributing to the case conceptualization, treatment plan and assessing the ongoing effectiveness of the interventions
  • Meeting regularly in a collaborative fashion with program leadership to discuss individual treatment progress
  • Acting on behalf of the treatment program when called upon; such interactions may include insurance companies, licensing and accreditation bodies
  • Seeing individual clients on a weekly basis to monitor progress
  • Documenting notes in our EMR system
  • Providing second opinion evaluations when needed
  • Assisting program treatment staff in treatment planning
  • Providing medical direction to the treatment team
