Job Description

  • Synthesize customer analytics challenges into solutions for the Snowflake Data Cloud 
  • Establish confidence in recommendations via product expertise, custom product demonstrations, technical phone calls, RFP/RFI responses, product roadmap discussions, architectural topology options & business process diagrams 
  • Articulate and support selected recommendations consultatively and with a business-minded awareness of advancing a deal 
  • Partner with sales to deliver on revenue plan 
  • Demonstrate and advise in our core Analytics platforms including: 
    • Snowflake 
    • Tableau Desktop, Alteryx, Dataiku or equivalent BI tools 
    • Alteryx and/or related data preparation tools 
  • Demonstrate, advise and make solution recommendations similar to the following tools and skillsets:  
  • DataRobot, Dataiku, Databricks, Spark and related data science tools 
  • Python, ML/AI technology options and best practices 
  • The current ecosystem of data warehousing solutions including those on Azure, AWS and GCP

Technical Skills

  • 2+ years working with the Snowflake Data Cloud

  • Providing direction and technical leadership in the adoption of new technologies and industry best practices.


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline is required.
  • 10+ years of work experience with enterprise data warehousing, data management, business intelligence, and large-scale data solutions
  • Experience in technical leadership, managing data architecture teams, and setting architectural direction
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Hands-on knowledge of foundational data architecture such as data warehouses and lakes, dimensional modeling, and data life cycle management

Job Description

As a Pre-Sales Data Architect, you will work as part of the sales team to qualify, educate and lead the design and adoption of database solutions. You would be on the front line of our sales team in a dynamic, high-energy environment. You will own the technical relationships of accounts as they modernize and realize business value over time. This is a pre-sales position.


What you will do:

  • Serve as Technical Strategic Advisor coaching enterprises through modernizations, implementations, and transformational outcomes

  • Drive sales by owning the technical relationship.

  • Own enterprise success through delivery of transformational business outcomes

  • Collaborate with account executives to develop account strategies and plans

  • Qualify technical requirements and effectively articulate DataStax's ability to meet these needs

  • Drive high levels of engagement through discovery sessions, enablement, and solution planning

  • Constantly learn new technologies and stay abreast of the distributed computing landscape

  • Present to C-Level executives on transformational data strategy

  • Enable customers through well crafted presentations and training sessions including hands-on developer days on-site at customer locations

  • Customize and adapt presentations for both small and large audiences, and for audiences with differing levels of technical and business experience

  • Work closely with developers around application code, data modeling techniques and troubleshooting, candidate architectures, and driver best practices.

  • Lead technical quarterly business reviews with customers to deliver business value with enterprise team

Your experience should include:

  • Working in a sales capacity on the pre-sales side.

  • A high degree of comfort speaking all levels of the organization from CTO to Architects to Developers and DBAs .

  • Demonstrating how you've learned and adapted to new technologies

  • Demonstrating how you've contributed to a culture of knowledge sharing by authoring and contribute to internal and external technical collateral, white papers, tutorials, and best practices

  • Knowledge of API design and development in enterprise ecosystems

  • Basic Linux operations experience

  • Developing in at least one major programming language, Java, C#, Go, Node.js, or Python

  • Solid understanding of Kubernetes and applications in enterprise ecosystems

Verisk 3E is looking for an experienced Enterprise Data Architect to join the team.  Although our preference would be for someone to sit locally with the team in Carlsbad, CA, fully remote candidates based in the United States will be considered.

The Senior Enterprise Data Architect plays a key role in aligning our information management and analytics efforts with business goals and needs. This role has the responsibility of solving problems, reducing complexity and cost, improving processes, and managing risk. Our goal is to build an Architectural COE that provides support, review and optimization of our data enterprise initiatives. As a Senior Enterprise Data Architect, you will participate in the architecture and modeling of various data driven products within the business. The Senior Enterprise Data Architect develops, follows and audits policies about data usage, guiding principles, statements of intent about usage, and mechanisms for accountability. Designs data models including enterprise conceptual models, logical data models, physical data models, and application-specific logical data models. Builds Data Catalogs and Inventories of data sources, Master Data or Reference Data, and which data is widely shared. Defines key data, with glossaries, dictionaries, definitions, and applied standards. Designs Metadata and how it should be managed. Creates a Data Lineage solution. Develops a road map for Data Architecture implementation.


  • Collaborate, educate, and mentor architects and technical leaders across the firm on modern data architecture practices


  • Understand current Client data landscape and define target state data architecture
  • Develop and implement a data strategy that defines the capabilities for data acquisition, integration, transformation, data-ops, governance, insights, and consumption of actionable data
  • Define and evangelize the adoption of Data Architecture capabilities and standards and build architectural data processes that create repeatable and reusable capabilities to transform how the company collects, curates and consumes data in real time.

Customer Orientation

  • Align enterprise data architecture with business and technology strategy and roadmaps and effectively communicating to business and technical partners across senior levels of the organization
  • Collaborate with business and IT partners and various practice teams to define transitional and target state data architectures
  • Collaborate within the enterprise systems and services team to incorporate modernizing data governance, metadata management, and data quality into our architectural approaches and patterns


  • 10+ years of data modeling experience working with at least three various types of data models (RDBMS-Oracle/MSSQL, Postgres, NoSQL/Lakehouse/DynamoDB), Open Data Architecture (Apache Iceberg), lakehouse tools (Nessie, Dremio)) and developing solutions for multiple cloud-based data platforms
  • 3+ years architecting scalable, highly available, robust, cloud centric technical solutions
  • Broad knowledge of Web technologies: languages, frameworks, techniques, industry trends, etc.
  • Enterprise-wide awareness of the business and data domains in relation to core business processes and capabilities, and enabling technology platforms
  • Applying architectural principles and govern based on established principles
  • Strong architecture, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, along with an ability to handle ambiguous, and evolving requirements
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the company; this includes written and verbal communications as well as visualizations
  • Success with delivering architecture in an agile/scrum environment
  • Ability to navigate and work effectively across the organization to influence, inspire and lead others around decisions that provide clear positive results to the company
  • BA in information systems, computer science or equivalent experience required
  • Environmental, Health and Safety, Chemistry or Chemical knowledge, a plus
