Your Mission 

We are looking for aQA Manualto join our fast-growing technology team. Reporting to our QA Team Lead, you will be responsible for the functional testing of our software development projects. This position will work with the development team to define, develope and execute test plans and test cases.

Key Responsibilities

-       1Identifying, reporting and following up on defects

-       2 Investigating, identifying, and following up on production issues

-       3 Assisting the development team in overseeing problematic areas, underestimated risks, scopes and bottlenecks

-       4 Create and maintain QA specific documentation

-       5Any other tasks as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 Minimum 2-3 years of relevant experience in testing Web application (backend mostly)
  • 2 Good knowledge of SQL and Postman and/or RESTful/XML
  • 3Good command of English
  • 4 Experienced with various QA types and techniques: Black box, Functional, Regression, Smoke
  • 5 Good communication and collaboration skills
  • 6 Good knowledge of QA processes, standards, procedures
  • 7 Ability to create and maintain QA Documentation (test cases, test design specifications, test plans, test status reports, quality metrics)
  • 8 Experience with Issue Trackers and Test Case Management systems (Azure DevOps or equivalent

What’s In for You

As a Software Quality Assurance Tester, you'll become a champion for our technology. You'll leverage your technical skills to partner with our development team, crafting automated test scenarios to ensure flawless products. You will have the chance to expand your expertise in broader testing methodologies, from requirements gathering to performance testing.

Beyond core testing, you'll support our customer-facing technical helpdesk and lead User Acceptance Testing (UATs). You'll also actively contribute to product quality throughout the development lifecycle, including documentation.

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Design and execute comprehensive test plans, scenarios, and scripts to identify and eliminate defects.
  • Conduct end-to-end testing, including automated testing, to guarantee a high-quality product for our clients.
  • Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with clients, incorporating their feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Champion product quality throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) by attending relevant meetings and actively contributing.
  • Continuously work with multiple database interfaces to ensure high familiarity with standard web architectures.
  • Develop and maintain testing tools for automation and support.
  • Manage bugs in Jira - Investigate and recreate reported defects for permanent resolution.
  • Maintain high Quality of Service (QoS) standards through performance testing.
  • Collaborate with developers and product managers to create and update technical documentation (release notes, user manuals, etc.).
  • Ensure all technical documentation is current and easily accessible.
  • Contribute to a safe and secure file library for documentation.

  • A degree in Computer Science / Mathematics or a relevant discipline is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in software testing and QA, with a proven track record of delivering bug-free products.
  • Experience designing and implementing automated tests.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Java and JavaScript.
  • Experience in writing technical documentation (UML).
  • Experience conducting and supporting user acceptance testing (UAT) with clients.
  • Familiarity with Jira and the Atlassian product suite is mandatory.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are required.
  • Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively.
  • Passionate, driven, and organized with excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to keep calm under pressure and lead by example.

Job Description

We are looking for a QA Tester with experience in the Video Game industry to work with our multi-talented team to ensure the delivery of high-quality products to our customers.
With a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills, you will ensure that our games, features, and systems work as expected and that we deliver bug-free content on time. Working together with the rest of the QA team, the development department as well and the various stakeholders, you will have the opportunity to understand all the internal dynamics and impact the way we build our product processes.

In this role you will have the opportunity to work with many other disciplines such as design, LiveOps, business intelligence, and development engineering, to build and test products that meet the overall business needs. This is a dynamic role with high exposure to many aspects of developing and running a unique game.

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual functional testing across the company’s PC, web, and mobile platforms (iOS, Android): Dev Testing, LiveOps Production testing, Development testing functionality and Manual Testing, smoke tests, Unit Testing, regression as well as any additional ad hoc tests both in development, Production and Live Phase.
  • Report in real-time proactively with stakeholders regarding QA operations with game defects, and Quality concerns from an end-user perspective including complete steps, identification of root cause, and expected results into communication channels and appropriate bug tracking software along with back-to-back follow-ups until the regression phase.
  • Creating and sending test reports upon completion of test activities and actively involved in planning and solving with stakeholders.
  • Follow up on issues with the team to ensure that they are fixed and delivered to end users.
  • Developing test plans with a strategic selection of test methodologies in advance during the development phase.
  • Proactively communicate concerns and risks to Product Teams in a professional manner.
  • Creation and maintenance of written documentation of knowledge and processes.
  • Assist in backlog and defect grooming with the Producers and Cross Department Leads.
  • Owning features and ensuring they are tested thoroughly with assurance of the Quality of the product to be shipped globally.

Requirements

  • 1 - 2 years experience in quality control and assurance of Video Games.
  • Experience in Coordinating QA operations with the Production Team and other Departments.
  • Good knowledge of Jira.
  • Experience in a remote working culture is a must.
  • Experienced in at least one bug-tracking software and the ability to create detailed and efficient documentation.
  • Fluent in English and a good communicator, both written and spoken.
  • Proven ability to handle stressful situations, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with high motivation, drive to improve, and capacity to learn.
  • Able to work independently, adjust to last-minute changes, and understand of how to prioritize tasks.

About the Job

We’re looking for an experienced manual Quality Assurance tester to join our engineering development team as part of our quest to build the best learning platform in the world. You will work closely with developers to build and document test plans for new features, then execute those test plans independently in our development, pre-production and production environments.

Our QAs are our final authority in the process of building high quality releases of our learning management system: you have the final technical say in whether a software module is suitable for promotion to the next higher environment.

QAs also work closely with our SDET and Automation engineers to build automations of the tests that the QAs develop to promote consistent regression.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Creates and documents test plans on applications and related technology to verify that the business, technical and functional requirements are being met through the software development lifecycle.
  • Work with developers to ensure the developers are executing test plans and documenting results during the development phase.
  • Conducts end-to-end testing according to the test plan, files bug reports and has the initiative to go “off script” in pursuit of uncovering obscure boundary defects.
  • Executes test plans in an effort to identify defects prior to production.
  • Advise SDET and Automation engineers on the creation of automation for their test plans
  • May also include Production Certification which requires manual/automated scripts be executed to certify production health and/or identify post-production defects

Qualifications

  • Manual Automation testing and thorough knowledge around testing methodologies.
  • Strong web services testing experience.
  • 4+ years of Quality Assurance experience
  •  Hands-on experience in test automation of APIs, webservices and Microservices.
  • Experience working with UI automation tool like Cypress is a plus
  • Proficient in defect tracking/Quality assurance tools such as JIRA.
  • Competent technical skills and good time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and individually.
  • Experience with QA processes and deliverables in an Agile/SCRUM environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively to varying audiences
  • Well-versed with all stages of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC)
