Legal Counsel

Pix4D is hiring a Remote Legal Counsel

Pix4D is currently looking for a Legal counsel to join their team and to be based in Berlin (flexible working time and partial remote work possible). 

Pix4D’s legal team is part of the Governance and Finance Department at Pix4D. The Legal team is a client-focused legal department that supports Pix4D Business Units (in particular Sales, Products teams, HR) as well as in the headquarters than in our subsidiaries. To meet the company's legal needs, the Legal team is composed of an Expert Legal Counsel who currently supports the company on a broad range of legal projects and issues and also relies on the expertise of a network of high-level law firms based across the world to handle specific matters, local issues or complex negotiations. 

As the Legal Counsel you will play a pivotal role in providing day-to-day legal support across various projects and issues within the company. Under the supervision of the Expert Legal Counsel, you will be the go-to legal advisor offering legal guidance on tech contracts such as License and Saas Agreements, NDA, contracts with partners and providers, claims resolutions etc. Additionally, you will maintain up-to-date internal legal processes (storage contracts, signature authorization policy etc.) and will be in touch with top-tier law firms globally, ensuring expert handling of specialized or local legal matters.

This position offers a dynamic role where you will directly impact the company’s operations. As a Legal Counsel, you will be supervised by the Expert Legal Counsel.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and collaborate with the Expert Legal Counsel  in various legal topics and in particular in Commercial matters, Data Protection issues and structure of legal processes;
  • Assist and taking responsibility for the smooth running of background tasks on contractual matters: documents, formatting, translating, submissions, proofreading, etc;
  • Maintain all relevant records up to date, such as contract databases;
  • Contract Management : Assist in the review of License Agreement, NDA, Reseller Agreements, renewal of subscription, MoUs, tenders, and any other commercial documents;
  • Assist in giving accurate and timely counsel to collaborators in a variety of legal topics (i.e commercial contracts, corporate law, GDPR, and labor law);
  • Ad-hoc tasks under the Expert Legal Counsel’s request  (i.e carrying out legal research in legal database, assisting in drafting internal Legal policies, etc.) and back-up of Expert Legal Counsel when needed;
  • Channeling and prioritizing legal requests that the Legal team received through a ticketing system;
  • Controlling of the legal documents management process for signatures and filing.
  • Law degree (Master in Law) and at least 3 years of previous experience in a legal environment (law-firm, international legal department);
  • Able to deal with a wide range of legal matters (cross-jurisdictions);
  • Demonstrate knowledge of, and experience with, laws dealing with commercial/contracts/GDPR, labor laws would be a plus;
  • Strong IT/Technical knowledge including Word, Excel, PowerPoint,Electronic signature tools;
  • Fast learner, flexible and highly motivated;
  • Excellent communicator in oral and written, with good interpersonal skills and customer-oriented;
  • Rigorous, organizational skills, excellent time management;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team, establish harmonious and effective working relationships in a multi‐cultural environment;
  • Tact, discretion, and ability to maintain strict confidence when required;
  • Proficient English and German language skills, written and spoken;

Responsibilities

  • Configure and maintain Contentful headless CMS.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices in CMS administration, data modeling, and frontend development.
  • Create well-designed, testable, efficient code.
  • Work on proposals involving solutions/architecture related to frontend (React.JS) and CMS Contentful technologies using Gatsby. 
  • Manage and configure Contentful CMS, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues as they arise, and work proactively to prevent potential problems.
  • Contribute to the documentation to share knowledge and increase the team's expertise.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including designers, content creators, and marketers to deliver cohesive and engaging digital experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement new features in the mobile application
  • Refactor, maintain and optimize the existing code base
