Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and participate in coding activities.

Requirements:

  • Basic scripting language and frameworks experience (JavaScript, React, Node.js, etc.).
  • Experience with unit testing and end to end testing.
  • Hands on experience with Enzyme, Chai, Sinon, and/or Cypress testing tools.
  • Experience using Github and Git commands.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues and effective documentation skills.

The Software Engineer, Calendar role spans several internal levels and a wide breadth of experience at Superhuman. Our compensation band reflects the potentially broad range of candidates and experience levels that we are open to hiring for this role.

Our starting salaries for this role range from $165,000 - $185,000. The salary range does not reflect total compensation, which includes base salary, benefits, and company stock options.

We are open to candidates in the US, Canada, or Latin America. We take a locally informed approach to non-US-based compensation and will be able to share ranges based on your country of residence.

What this job can offer you

  • You'll be joining 250 engineers across Frontend, Backend, SRE and QA. We're organised into cross-functional development teams assigned to specific product areas. Regardless of the specific team you will be joining, you will be working on building features, tools, APIs and integrations for one of our products.
  • Our backend is built with Elixir and Phoenix, with a Postgres database. We use React and Nextjs for our frontend. Gitlab is used as a version control tool and a CI/CD solution. Our applications are hosted on AWS. We fully rely on our CI for deployments and deploy multiple times per day.

What you bring

  • Significant experience managing application security teams (preferably in SaaS environments)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and managing skills
  • Strong understanding of common application security vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10) and secure coding practices.
  • Experience with penetration testing tools and methodologies.
  • Knowledge and experience in Security Incident management and/or SOC (including SIEM) are a plus
  • Relevant certifications are a plus (such as CISSP, CISM, SANS GIAC, OSCP).
  • Writes and speaks fluent English

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead and manage the application security program, closely align with the overall Security program.

The base salary range may be subject to change.

The Tock engineering team is looking for a site reliability engineer to help us support the next generation of restaurant bookings based on the system we've deployed everywhere from local dive bars to Alinea, The French Laundry, and Eleven Madison Park. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will work with the rest of our Engineering team to ensure our products and infrastructure are reliable, fast, efficient, and secure with an eye to reducing toil.

This is an opportunity for you to work with world-class engineers and SREs on challenging problems while having a big impact on the hospitality industry. As a member of a growing team, you'll help define the next stage of our growth.

Tock Engineering takes a hybrid approach to work. Qualified engineers can choose to work from our offices, from home, or a combination of the two.

You will report directly to the Senior Director of Engineering at Tock.

You'll Get To…

  • Work in our complex production environment and seek out ways to simplify systems and reduce toil.
  • Accelerate our adoption of Config as Code and Infrastructure as Code.
  • Troubleshoot production incidents and debug across distributed systems and at multiple layers (including network, system, and application).
  • Define and measure Service Level Indicators (SLIs) and Service Level Objectives (SLOs) to help teams make informed decisions about balancing reliability against engineering velocity.
  • Shape the evolution of a large system.

Who We're Looking For

  • At least 5 years of experience in an SRE or DevOps role
  • Experience supporting HA products / infrastructure on public clouds using Kubernetes (AWS / GCP). We use GCP.
  • Familiarity with using Config as Code and Infrastructure as Code to manage configuration and cloud infrastructure. We use Terraform, Ansible, and Helm.
  • You understand all parts of a modern web-based application stack including frontend, backend, database, and networking.
  • Fluency with one or more general purpose programming languages which could include: Java, Go, Bash, Python, Ruby, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
  • Familiarity with security best practices.

Cash Compensation Range: $118,000 – $190,325 USD

The base salary for this position will vary based on job-related criteria including relevant skills, experience, and location, among other factors.

In addition to the cash compensation above (which includes base salary and, where applicable for eligible roles, may include on-target commissions or overtime pay), all Tock employees are eligible to receive equity in the company as part of their total compensation.
