What you'll do as a Senior Specialist Solutions Engineer

As a Senior Specialist Solutions Engineer, you will be responsible for designing network solutions that meet the needs of our clients. You will work closely with clients to assess their requirements, develop network architecture, and provide technical guidance through the sales engagement. You will be expected to ensure that network solutions are reliable, scalable, and secure. The ideal candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, strong technical knowledge, and experience in network architecture and design.

You serve as a trusted advisor to our customers; helping them find the best solution for their business needs with Cloudflare’s Developer Services. You will work closely with our Account Executives (AEs); generalist SEs, as well as every other team at Cloudflare, from Sales and Product to Engineering and Customer Support. 

Responsibilities

  • Guide qualified prospects through the Solution Design and Proof of Concept stages of sales engagements; showing them the key capabilities of the Cloudflare Developer Services portfolio.
  • Work with your Solutions Engineer and Sales Partners to consistently achieve Pipeline and Revenue goals
  • Understand our customers IT landscape, application requirements and develop an architecture for our customers to support their business needs
  • Articulate the benefits of the Cloudflare's Developer Platform product portfolio vs competing solutions
  • Promote retention by capturing and communicating gaps in product or features

Skill Requirements

  • Curiosity and learning agility
  • Minimum 5 years of prior Technical Sales, full-stack Engineering, Cloud Developer or related experience
  • Minimum 4 years software development experience delivering full-stack applications, preferably using modern Javascript frameworks and a variety of databases
  • Advanced understanding of web applications and cloud architectures.
  • Technical curiosity and passion: Cloudflare is at the cutting edge of internet technology. It’s incumbent on us to stay up to date not only with Cloudflare’s specific products, but with industry trends.
  • In-depth knowledge of at least one major public cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.).
  • Familiar with evolution in different application development and deployment (on-premise, public cloud, private cloud, hybrid) and what's next.
  • Have a good understanding of systems design theory and practice for distributed, full-stack applications (frontend, backend, databases, related services)
  • Have a good understanding of developer workflows (branching, release, versioning, CI/CD practices, system integrations)
  • Fundamental knowledge of related services for monitoring, tracing, APM and metric tracking
  • Ability to jump in with hands-on configuration and code assistance when needed
  • Ability to manage a project, work to deadlines, and prioritize between competing goals

Other desirable skills areas include:

  • AWS Solutions Architect or GCP Cloud Architect certifications

 

Compensation
Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location.

  • For Colorado, New York and Texas based: Estimated annual salary of $208,000K - $254,000K
  • For New York City, Washington, DC Metro and California based (excluding Bay Area): Estimated annual salary of $211,000K - $257,000K
  • For San Francisco Bay Area based hires: Estimated annual salary of #221,000K - $271,000K

What you’ll do

The Pre-Sales Solutions Engineering organisation is responsible for the technical sale of the Cloudflare solution portfolio, ensuring maximal business value, fit-for-purpose solution design and efficient adoption roadmaps for our customers. Solution Engineering is made up of individuals from a wide range of backgrounds - from Financial Consulting to Product Management, Customer Support to Software Engineering, and we are serious about building a diverse, curious and collaborative team.

As a Solutions Engineer, you are the technical customer advocate within Cloudflare. You will aid your customers and will work closely with every team at Cloudflare, from Sales and Product to Engineering and Customer Support to do so. Your goal of customer success should drive you through the entire organisation as you seek out and create scalable solutions for your customer’s needs.

The range of products and solutions offered by Cloudflare are broad so that we are able to meet our lofty goal of helping to build a better Internet.   • Demonstrating empathy with customers and quickly identifying challenges and pain points they face. 
  • Understanding of “how the internet works”. For example:
    • Know the differences between TCP & UDP, and understand what kinds of applications may favour one over the other;
    • Can explain the difference between authoritative DNS & recursive DNS?;
    • You understand the role of a firewall, why TLS (SSL) plays an increasingly important role on today's Internet, a solid understanding of HTTP and a willingness to dive deeper into the quirks of clients & servers alike;
  • Understanding of how customers make buying decisions, how to explain ROI.
  • A knowledge of the competitive landscape for one or more of: DDoS, CDN, Performance, DNS, Developer platform or Zero-Trust/SASE service providers.
  • You're OK with some travel (10-15 days per quarter): we expect to travel to customer offices, conferences and/or do talks.

  • Previous experience in a pre-sales SE or consulting role. (note: doesn't have to be in tech);

What you'll do

Cloudflare is looking for highly motivated Named Account Executives seeking a role with the opportunity to help build a GTM working with some of the largest companies in North America. This position will manage a focused set of ~20-30 accounts with $1B -$25B in annual revenues. The Enterprise Account team will shape and lead Cloudflare’s Go To Market.

We will leverage the strength of all Cloudflare functions to become a strategic partner to our customers and their digital transformation efforts. Our product and services and our methods of engagement will differentiate and delight our customers.

The AE will interact with both C-level clients and senior technical decision makers, utilizing Cloudflare solutions and resources to drive a business partnership focused on joint success with our customers.  Success requires consultative, solutions-oriented sales, and customer service skills in addition to intense personal energy and focused activity. A critical factor of achievement in this role is the ability and desire to focus and lead an internal group of constituents to bring their skillset to bear to build solutions and exponentially grow revenue. The AE must be expert in identifying business opportunities with customers, developing Enterprise Account Plans, driving execution across functional stakeholders, and closing revenue. About the department

Cloudflare’s IT/Enterprise Engineering, Planning and Governance Team is a crucial pillar of the CIO Organization. What you'll do

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Leader  to lead our new global capability center in Hyderabad/Bangalore. This leader will play a critical role in overseeing the center's operations, guiding our largest technical team, liaising with the Indian government, and  growing important partner and network relationships.

Operational Leadership:

Description:

We are looking for a leader with prior experience in Technical Account Management and value-added support services. The ideal candidate will lead a team of Technical Account Managers, who are responsible for managing the service delivery experience of our Premium customers. Partnering with the Head of TAM Services to drive the development and execution of a Global TAM strategy, ensuring an exceptional service experience that is metrics-driven and solution-oriented. You will be responsible for managing, mentoring, and coaching team members, while also overseeing career development planning and guidance. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in hiring, onboarding, and training new team members. Your role will require effective cross-team communication between Support, Product/Engineering, and Sales, fostering collaboration among Support managers and teams. Responsibilities:

Requirements:

  • Experience in scaling and operationalizing new/existing TAM offerings for large enterprise customers.
  • Prior experience with paid support services, including observability (Security/Network Operations Center).
  • Direct experience in the hiring process, including candidate review, interviewing, and collaborative decision-making.

Compensation

What you'll do as a Principal Solutions Engineer

The Pre-Sales Solution Engineering organisation is responsible for the technical sale of the Cloudflare solution portfolio, ensuring maximal business value, fit-for-purpose solution design and adoption roadmap for our customers. Solution Engineering is made up of individuals from a wide range of backgrounds - from Financial Consulting to Product Management, Customer Support to Software Engineering, and we are serious about building a diverse, experienced and curious team. 

The Principal Solutions Engineer is a Senior level role with 14+ years of relevant experience. You are a customer facing hands-on technologist with credibility built on domain expertise across the region. You should have solid experience in influencing enterprise architecture design across various senior buyer personas both at customers and partner organizations. Your role will be to convince these decision makers of the long term value of thinking of Cloudflare as a strategic technology partner.

Role Description

Network Operations Center ("NOC") Engineers provide premium-level support for Cloudflare's largest and most technically sophisticated customers. The NOC service will specifically provide monitoring, alerting, and remediation for degradation in availability and latency across Layer 7 traffic. The NOC system will monitor HTTP requests for alert-able conditions, and our NOC team will alert customers about problems as soon as they are found. 

NOC Engineers analyze the alerts, inform the customer of any material impact, and proactively put in motion a remediation path to resolving the degraded service, whether that be by moving traffic through a new route or working with the Systems Reliability Engineering team for a quick product fix or to declare a broader incident. The team also provides reporting and analysis to the customer on a regular cadence, beyond any report that would be self-serviceable within the Cloudflare UI.

Responsibilities

  • Configure and maintain custom alerting for availability and latency across Layer 7.  
  • Build and maintain customer dashboards  in Grafana, which will be used to monitor for alert signals.

We are looking for a leader with prior experience in Technical Account Management and value-added support services. About the department

The Customer Support Team solves complicated problems and answers technical inquiries via phone, email, chat, and social media. Whether it is a WordPress blogger using our services for free or a global Enterprise business with petabytes of web traffic, our team is always eager to assist. At Cloudflare, Technical Account Managers (TAMs) are part of our Global Customer Support organization and work directly with customers to ensure a consistent and high level of support. What you'll do

The Technical Account Manager will own the post-contract end-to-end support experience for Cloudflare’s most strategic customers, to unblock post-go-live technical support challenges. They are a dedicated technical primary point of contact for our top-tier Enterprise customers. TAM’s responsibilities are to manage and monitor support interactions, serve as an internal advocate for customers, respond to customer escalations, and proactively escalate issues as needed. TAMs meet regularly with their respective customer(s) and provide proactive recommendations that support customers’ requirements, roadmap, and ongoing technical needs, partnering with the Customer Success and Account Team members.

To be successful in this role, you must possess strong customer service and leadership skills, be a self-starter, be committed to ongoing self-education, be able to collaborate across organizations and have excellent technical problem-solving skills.

As a TAM aligned with Cloudflare’s Network Services products and with a working understanding of Layer 3 and 4 functionality, you’ll closely engage with customers who integrate these solutions into their Cloudflare configuration, addressing their primary support needs.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to work one weekend every month. 
  • Serve as primary technical support contact.
  • Maintain a cooperative relationship with all cross-functional resources, such as product, engineering, and customer account teams comprising Account Executives, Customer Success, Professional Services, and Partners throughout every sales phase.
  • Collaborate with the Account Team, as well as Engineering and Product, to help ensure high customer satisfaction by providing world-class dedicated support throughout the entire life of the customer partnership.

  • Point of escalation during business hours, and backup point of escalation for Cloudflare TAMs in other regions during their off hours.

As our physical security engineer, reporting to our Director of Physical Security you will take ownership of our physical security program across our office and data center footprint.

What You’ll Do

Continue to build and manage our global physical security data center program overall in the following areas: 

  • Physical security:

About this  job 

We are looking for an exceptionally talented, energetic, and friendly attorney to join our legal team based in San Francisco, CA, Austin, TX, or Washington D.C..  As a senior member of the commercial legal team, you will be the primary legal counsel to our partners team.  This is a mid-senior to senior level legal position that is perfect for a highly qualified lawyer looking for an opportunity in a rapidly scaling company and who is open to growth.  A typical day in this role involves working closely with our partnership, finance, privacy, security, and sales operations teams to counsel our partner and channel teams on potential alliances and partner relationships, review contracts, draft new template language, and advise on policies across all of Cloudflare’s sales theaters. The ideal candidate is a strong negotiator who is equally versed in day-to-day legal matters and strategic business thinking.   This position will report to the Head of Commercial Legal.

A strong candidate will feel confident doing the following:

  • Provide high level counseling to the partner team regarding Cloudflare’s global partner programs, advising on the various legal risks (including anti-competition), and other issues related to the structure and execution of our partner programs.
  • Draft and negotiate complex channel related agreements including distribution, reseller, professional services, referral, MSP, technology partner, OEM, strategic alliance and other types of partner agreements.
  • Partner with channel leadership including channel operations to create and implement a scalable legal support structure and processes which map to channel leadership’s strategic growth plans.
  • Provide direct support to channel sales and leadership, both domestically and internationally .
  • Create, update and manage global partner agreements and all related channel templates.
  • Partner with revenue recognition, security, sales operations, technology operations, and other stakeholder teams to ensure agreements are consistent with internal Cloudflare policies and processes.

Requirements:                     

  • JD degree with strong academic credentials.
  • Admitted to practice law and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law in the state in which the position is located.
  • 10+ years relevant experience.
  • Experience with drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements with channel partners including resellers, distributors, OEMs, MSPs, GSIs.
  • In depth experience counseling Partner organizations on strategic program initiatives, including advising on antitrust and other program level issues
