Overview

 

About the Role 

As a Senior Android Engineer at Instacart, you will spearhead the development of our Android applications catering to our business users. With over 1 million businesses relying on Instacart, your work will be pivotal in scaling and enhancing the mobile experience to meet the unique needs of this segment. This role involves driving the architecture, design, and implementation of Android applications, ensuring they deliver high performance and robust reliability that our business users require. Your contributions will directly impact Instacart's growth in the B2B sector, setting the stage for how businesses interact with Instacart at scale.

 

About the Team 

You will be joining a dynamic team that operates like a startup within Instacart, dedicated to harnessing the vast potential of business users. As the first Android engineer on this newly established team, you will play a foundational role in defining the future of the 'Instacart Business' platform. Your leadership will guide the Android development efforts, driving innovation and excellence. This team, composed of top engineers from across the company, is instrumental in transforming how over a million businesses engage with Instacart, with a clear target to double this engagement.

 

About the Job 

  • Architect, build, and maintain excellent Android applications with clean code.
  • Implement pixel perfect UIs that match designs.
  • Integrate with backend services to make sure we are delivering a great mobile user experience that is super-fast for end users.
  • Own important pieces of the product that has high visibility both internally and externally.
  • Envision new products and features that are inspired, considered, and forward thinking.
  • Lead the entire software development cycle from ideation to deployment and everything in between.
  • Communicate and collaborate extensively across multiple teams and functions within the company to drive consensus, align goals, and achieve effective cross-functional outcomes.
  • Engage in the full spectrum of the development lifecycle and collaborate with a wide array of business units to deliver solutions that are of the highest quality and usability.

 

About You

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Android development experience. 
  • Proficient in performance optimization on Android.
  • Expertise in Android development technologies, including Kotlin and Java.
  • Experience with Android Jetpack libraries and frameworks such as Compose, Room, and MVVM.
  • Solid understanding of both RxJava and Kotlin Coroutines.
  • Proven ability in rigorous unit testing and practical problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of collaborating and influencing cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced proficiency in RxJava and Kotlin Coroutines.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools like Datadog.
  • Skilled in profiling and performance optimization on mobile platforms.
  • Adaptability and willingness to wear multiple hats in a startup environment.

The Customer Support Team solves complicated problems and answers technical inquiries via phone, email, chat, and social media. Whether it is a WordPress blogger using our services for free or a global Enterprise business with petabytes of web traffic, our team is always eager to assist. At Cloudflare, Technical Account Managers (TAMs) are part of our Global Customer Support organization and work directly with customers to ensure a consistent and high level of support. We are the eyes and ears of Cloudflare, acting as the real-time voice of the customer to help communicate their needs and real-world use cases back to the rest of the company - to help build a better service and future product development.

What you'll do

The Technical Account Manager will own the post-contract end-to-end support experience for Cloudflare’s most strategic customers, to unblock post-go-live technical support challenges. They are a dedicated technical primary point of contact for our top-tier Enterprise customers. TAM’s responsibilities are to manage and monitor support interactions, serve as an internal advocate for customers, respond to customer escalations, and proactively escalate issues as needed. TAMs meet regularly with their respective customer(s) and provide proactive recommendations that support customers’ requirements, roadmap, and ongoing technical needs, partnering with the Customer Success and Account Team members.

To be successful in this role, you must possess strong customer service and leadership skills, be a self-starter, be committed to ongoing self-education, be able to collaborate across organizations and have excellent technical problem-solving skills.

As a TAM aligned with Cloudflare’s Developer Platform products, you’ll be working closely with customers who use these solutions as an integral part of their Cloudflare configuration, addressing their primary support needs.

  • Serve as primary technical support contact.
  • Document and maintain technical profiles for customers to ensure a globally consistent and smooth support experience.
  • Maintain a cooperative relationship with all cross-functional resources, such as product, engineering, and customer account teams comprising Account Executives, Customer Success, Professional Services, and Partners throughout every sales phase.

  • Baseline understanding of at least one programming language, preferably JavaScript.
  • Minimum 8 years of previous experience in a customer-facing team with technical account management responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with modern development tools and systems.
  • Have the business acumen of working with Fortune 500 companies and their leadership team.
  • Experience with edge computing products and technologies (serverless computing, object storage, key-value stores, SQL, etc.).
  • Basic troubleshooting skills and methodologies towards identifying and escalating to the necessary teams to drive towards a solution.
  • Fundamental understanding of how the Internet works, e.g. the OSI Model, Application and Network security, what a proxy is and how it works.

Compensation

Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location.

  • For Colorado-based hires: Estimated annual salary of $127,000- $155,000.
  • For New York City, Washington, and California (excluding Bay Area) based hires: Estimated annual salary of $142,000 - $174,000
  • For Bay Area-based hires: Estimated annual salary of $149,000- $183,000

Staff Quality Engineer, Okta Verify

 

Position Description:

The Device Authenticator and Fastpass platform team is responsible for building Okta Verify Apps and SDKs. Okta Verify is a mobile app that allows you to securely access your apps via 2-step verification, ensuring that you, and only you, can access your app accounts. It integrates with Android system features by communicating with our backend and grants proper application access.

 

We are looking for a Staff Quality Engineer to join the team. The team is responsible for developing and maintaining Okta Verify and SDKs across Apple platform, Android and Windows. 

 

In this role, you would report to the Sr. Manager, Quality Assurance, and be responsible for robust and secure releases and the automated testing of the Okta Verify app and SDKs. You will also be responsible for developing the test plans for new features and working collaboratively with application developers to execute tests, log, track and validate test results. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the product management, development, and cross-functional teams using JIRA and Confluence tools to define test plans based on business requirements and application software designs.
  • Work with software engineers and engineering management to scope, plan and execute automation and test efforts
  • Master, improve, and innovate upon our existing tools and automation for Desktop clients and Web applications
  • Interface with Product Management, Development, Documentation, and UX teams
  • Partner with Customer Support and field teams to understand customer use cases and build relative test plans
  • Develop and maintain high quality functional, regression, and end-to-end tests for Okta Verify app.

  • You'll be joining 250 engineers across Frontend, Backend, SRE and QA. We're organised into cross-functional development teams assigned to specific product areas.   • Significant experience managing application security teams (preferably in SaaS environments)

Job Description

CloudVision is Arista’s enterprise network management and streaming telemetry SaaS offering, serving the world’s largest Financials, Media and Entertainment, Health Care, and Cloud companies. As we continue to scale the service and expand into new markets, we’re looking to grow the team with Software Engineers in our Dublin office.

Here’s what our engineers have to say about their working day; 

CloudVision’s core infrastructure is a scale-out distributed system providing real-time and historical access to the full network state, along with frameworks for building advanced analytics. It’s written in Go and leverages open source technologies like Hbase, ClickHouse, ElasticSearch, Kafka, Kubernetes, Ambassador and Zookeeper under the covers. We’re constantly investing in scaling out the platform and building out richer analytics capabilities in the infrastructure.

On top of this core platform we’re building device management and network analytics applications to fully automate today’s enterprise network, from CI/CD pipelines for network automation, to advanced analytics and remediation for network assurance.

As a backend software engineer at Arista, you own your project end to end. You and your project team will work with product management and customers to define the requirements and design the architecture. You’ll build the backend, write automated tests, and get it deployed into production via our CD pipeline.

Additional Information

  • 12 month B2B rolling contract. 
  • Remote work available from Romania, Poland, Spain, Greece or Hungary
  • Candidates must hold legal status in the respective countries

Qualifications

  • BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or a relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of one or more of Go, C, C++, Java or similar language.
  • Experience with network monitoring, network protocols, distributed systems, machine learning or data analytics is a plus.
