carwow is hiring a Remote Digital Agency Sales Manager

THE CARWOW GROUP

Carwow Group is driven by a passion for getting people into cars. But not just any car, the right car. That’s why we are building the go-to destination for car-changing. Designed to reach drivers everywhere with our trail-blazing portfolio of personality rich automotive brands; Carwow, Auto Express, evo, Driving Electric and Car Buyer.

What started as a simple reviews site, is now one of the largest online car-changing destinations in Europe - over 10m customers have used Carwow to help them buy and sell cars since its inception. Last year we grew over 50% with nearly £3bn worth of cars bought on site, while £1.8bn of cars were listed for sale through our Sell My Car service.

In 2024 we went big and acquired Autovia, doubling our audience overnight. Together we now have one of the biggest YouTube channels in the world with over 1.1 billion annual views, sell 1.2 million print copies of our magazines and have an annual web content reach over 350million.

WHY JOIN US?

We are winners of the prestigious Culture 100 award that recognises the most loved and happiest tech companies to work for! We have just raised $52m in funding led by global venture capital firm Bessemer Venture Partners (an early backer of LinkedIn and Shopify) to accelerate our growth plans!

As pioneers, we’re always driving for new territory and positive change, so our work as a group is never done. Where others see difficulty, it’s our responsibility to see possibility – building new experiences, launching new titles and listening to drivers.

Being a part of Carwow Group means championing drivers and the automotive industry, acting as a disrupter and never being afraid to fail (but learning fast when we do!).

Our team of 500 employees across the UK, Germany, Spain and Portugal are revolutionising car-changing and we are fast expanding our mission across every single brand and country we operate in, so jump in!

THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Digital Agency Sales Manager that sits within the OEM & Media team.

Our team is committed to positioning CG as the foremost commerce media group and strategic collaborator within the automotive sector. The OEM & Media team is instrumental in constructing CG's retail and media offerings for both automotive manufacturers and advertising agencies. Through daily engagement, the team forges robust partnerships encompassing brand development and awareness, consumer consideration, sales generation, and direct-to-consumer collaborations. By harnessing Carwow Group's unparalleled audience and industry knowledge, we empower our partners to achieve their business goals.

As a Digital Agency Sales Manager, you will be instrumental in driving revenue growth and building lasting relationships with media agencies. You will work closely with the Group Head and Media Director and be responsible for developing and executing effective media strategies, delivering exceptional client service, and contributing to the overall success of the team.

This role requires someone with bags of drive, confidence and the ambition to grow with a fast scaling department and business. You will be used to owning big projects and balancing both short term opportunities and a longer term strategic view for your area and accounts. You’ll take a hands-on approach to supporting the exponential growth aspirations of Carwow Group.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Be responsible for delivering advertising revenue targets by focusing on the already well-established pipeline and proactively building successful media proposals for media agency partners and clients directly.
  • Develop stronger and more consistent relationships with key media agency partners across their business through frequent review meetings and co-developed processes to achieve an ‘always-on’ position
  • Understand and research key performance metrics and strategies by brand to build bespoke data-driven, advertising proposals
  • Ensure Carwow is always front of mind for Agency Planners, Buyers, Strategists, as well as Business Directors with the target of establishing CG as a core media partner
  • Work collaboratively with the Group Head to strive for and recommend ways for the continuous improvement of the media proposition, in collaboration with our product and design teams
  • Ensure that media agencies are well served and given insightful, clear and timely reporting on ongoing projects for media agencies and clients

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Be adaptable - our media agency proposition is tailored, native and data-driven - it’s more than just selling standard IAB formats. Our product and ideas stand out from the crowd, you should too
  • Have knowledge of the media agency world - ideally with strong experience working as an Account Manager or similar role within an agency, or working closely with media agencies in a publisher/media owner ecosystem
  • Be confident in owning and executing your own contact and prospecting strategy to build new relationships from scratch. You'll have the freedom to build these relationships and strategies as you see fit - we want an ambitious person who can put CG on the map
  • Have a successful track record in closing and delivering large, advertising deals with a customer and data centric approach
  • Monitor quarterly bookings and pipeline against personal and team targets using accurate Salesforce reports
  • Comfortable with handling & analysing data, and a profile that enjoys a data-driven sales environment
  • Be a team player who is comfortable with collaborating at all levels and is always happy to take on board feedback to develop their skills
  • Personality-wise you’ll be polished, hands-on, energetic and a real self-starter who enjoys autonomy and delivering results
  • Be highly articulate and be comfortable thinking on your feet, especially with senior decision-makers
  • Be confident, possess a can-do attitude and enjoy developing and selling new solutions
  • Be a lateral thinker, able to approach a task multiple ways until the outcome is achieved
  • Have an understanding of consumer verticals, ideally the automotive sector, but not essential.

Our team of 500 employees across the UK, Germany, Spain and Portugal are revolutionising car-changing and we are fast expanding our mission across every single brand and country we operate in, so jump in!

THE ROLE

Our product function comprises nine squads, with five currently dedicated to Sell My Car. Following our recent fundraising announcement we’re growing! The automotive industry is continuing to be disrupted with many new manufacturers entering the market and more and more buyers turning to Carwow to source forecourt stock. You’ll be guaranteed to be front and centre of this change in helping with Carwow’s most ambitious phase of growth yet.

Under the leadership of our Product Director, the Sell My Car team is revolutionising car selling and buying with a focus on three main areas:

  • Seller Experience: We're transforming the car listing and selling process into a seamless journey, empowering sellers to sell their cars exactly how and when they want, with maximum ease.

  • Internal Teams: Providing our teams with cutting-edge tools (such as AI tools and Machine Learning models) and platforms to achieve exceptional growth in our marketplace.

You can find out more about our product organisation on the Carwow Medium blog.

As a Product Manager working in the B2B area of Sell My Car, you’ll join one of our existing product teams (which has a Tech Lead, Designer, and four Engineers) focused on delivering a game-changing experience for partners that have won stock on our platform and want it on their forecourt as quick as possible. This won’t be just optimising an existing product though, we’re after a trailblazer, eager to tackle the challenges our partners face when buying stock online. A key part of this role is understanding how our partners work and then figuring out how our technology creds can help partners achieve their goals.

Our partners are diverse, so you’ll be working with some of the largest UK PLCs and independent businesses as well as with our existing and potentially new third-party vendors to deliver market-leading solutions.

THE TEAM

As a remote-first and distributed team our mission is to create a technology-driven company where we are empowered to use our skills to solve difficult problems and scale the product.

With Engineers across Europe (UK, Spain, Germany & Portugal), you will join a team that knows how to work well together whilst being distributed and enjoy 4-5 trips to the London office for social and team bonding events each year.

Our tech stack is primarily Ruby on Rail split across several rails applications to support our different services, all hosted on Heroku. We focus on improving engineering effectiveness and want to bring the fun back to coding.
