About the Role:

Fubo is looking for an exceptional Software Engineer with a passion for video systems that solve complex problems.

As a member of the VOD Acquisition, Encoding & Operations team at Fubo, you will work in a video streaming ecosystem that writes code for all parts of a VOD acquisition, encoding, packaging and encryption pipeline.  Additionally, you will have the opportunity to engineer solutions for research and innovations sake within the ecosystem that is streaming video. 

As a Software Engineer on a small, dedicated team, this role also requires an aptitude for removing complexity from existing architectures, performing frequent code reviews, mentoring fellow engineers, and representing Fubo and its interests with third parties and vendors. 

All Fubo Software Engineers must:

  • Architect, design, develop, test, maintain, and improve software systems
  • Have 4+ years of experience in delivering working software
  • Write clean, well-tested code
  • Be familiar with REST APIs and SQL
  • Have a mastery of at least one modern backend stack, with a willingness to learn new technologies and methodologies
  • Have an interest or experience in streaming video, message queues, and/or microservices
  • Collaborate with other engineers and members of the Fubo team to determine priorities and best practices, and refine functional requirements

Software Engineers on the VOD Acquisition, Encoding & Ops team are expected to have the following:

  • 4+ years of experience delivering production-quality software in a high traffic environment
  • Experience writing and deploying cloud-computed-hosted code (e.g. AWS, Azure)
  • Solid understanding of relational and key-value store databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, Redis, cloud SaaS NoSQL/SQL)
  • Comfortable working in multiple coding languages (e.g. Java, Golang, Python)
  • Familiarity with modern code-deployment toolchains (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform, Spring Framework)

          Compensation and Benefits

          The starting salary for the Quality Assurance Engineer position is $75,000-85,000, based on experience. EA also has a generous benefits package including:

          About the Data Engineering Team

          Thumbtack’s Data Engineering team is a centralized team that works closely with engineers, analysts, data scientists, and machine learning engineers to help design and curate data sets originating from internal and third-party sources to meet current and future needs.           As a Senior Data Engineer, you will work closely with product and engineering teams throughout Thumbtack, helping turn data into insight into action. The Data Engineering team is a hybrid-embedded team of engineers, some of whom consult directly with product teams to integrate data into the development lifecycle, and others who help build core pipelines and data models for use across the entire company. You’ll work to understand requirements, then design, deploy, test, and deploy data pipelines and transformations for use by Analysts, Machine Learning Engineers, and Data Scientists, and Product Managers.           Job Description

          Renaissance is currently looking for a Solutions Architect to join our team. As an educator by heart and an engineer and businessperson by occupation, you will identify customers’ technical needs and education objectives, develop a technical sales strategy and present solutions that accelerate student growth. You will work closely with sales account executives to win net new customers and expand our loyal customer base.  

          The Solutions Architect role requires travel 50%+ of the time, including some weekends. If hired, you must live within one hour of a regional airport. 
          In this role as a Solutions Architect, you will:   

          • Deliver sales support including documented discovery, solution validation, standard and customized demonstrations, proof of concept/value documents and actions to advance and close sales opportunities 
          • Learn how to position all Renaissance solutions in a variety of sales settings 
          • Provide technical support to the sales team and prospects throughout the sales cycle 
          • Provide support to the proposals team on requests for proposals and requests for information 
          • Create and deliver customized product demonstrations for prospective customers 
          • Conceptualize and propose an integration model with other customer vendors such as student information systems (SIS) or curriculum providers. 
          • Explore and define customer requirements for sophisticated data analysis and reporting 
          • Document customer requirements for access to data and propose solutions to provide the required data 
          • Understand customer requirements for analytics and propose or build solutions to meet those analysis needs

          For this role as a Solutions Architect, you should have: 

          • 7+ years’ experience working as a district administrator or data systems analyst in a school district 
          • 5+ years’ experience working in education industry as a Sales Engineer, data analyst, or similar customer facing role preferred 
          • A degree in Computer Science and/or Information Systems or related field preferred, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities   
          • Experience with data BI front end tools such as PowerBI, Excel, Tableau, Knime 
          • Previous background in a technical customer-oriented position is required 
          • Knowledge of Microsoft .NET and/or prior programming knowledge in HTML, ASP, ASP.NET (C#, VB.NET), R, Javascript with SQL on back end. 
          • Knowledge of education data interoperability standards 
          • Knowledge of AWS architecture is a plus. 
          • Knowledge of SSO and data integration solutions and implementation 
          • A desire to help customers and affinity for working with people 
          • Self-motivated and able to work strategically and independently. 
          • Ability to travel 50%+ of the time required; including some weekend travel
