Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced, industry-leading, growing analytics team that works with some of the biggest global brands. Merkle|Analytics exists to accelerate businesses on their journey to generate maximum value from data and enable them to make data-led decisioning to benefit their business.

You will join as an analytical consultant, delivering analytical solutions to a variety of clients and industries.  We expect our analysts to come with brains as standard – so you will understand a analytics, have experience with coding languages, have some experience building statistical / data science models & used visualization tools - but we look for curious individuals that have a passion for data and analytics, that have  a desire to learn, who want to help businesses use their data better when they make decisions, and are able to package up their analysis in such a way that even the most non-technical audiences can grasp complicated methodologies.  The role will be client facing, so a winning smile and an eagerness to do the leg work to get under the skin of a business problem is also key.

Examples of projects you are likely to be involved in are: dashboarding, propensity models, recommendation engines, segmentations, customer lifetime value, customer journey analytics, econometrics, attribution, forecasting, machine learning projects and adhoc analytics.  You will work with the client delivery team to aid design and execute the analytical solution, learning from experts in the field

Life as an Analytical Consultant at Merkle | Analytics

  • You will be responsible for delivery of your part of the solution – with a team to support as you progress, and to support you in the delivery to clients. 
  • Its likely you will end up doing projects you may not have had experience with – don’t worry, you will work in an award winning analytics team of over 90 statistical analysts, data scientists and data engineers across multiple UK sites. This provides a fantastic opportunity to work alongside the best and gain knowledge from regular sharing sessions with the wider analytics team and the whole agency.
  • You will work across a variety of industries – we believe variety in work is what gives us our edge and keeps things interesting for you as your advance through your career
  • You will typically work on a single client project at any one time
  • You will be involved in all stages of the analytical process from spec’ing out what data you may need, data cleansing, visualizing data, modelling and delivering the final results.

What we are looking for in you

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Analytical mind-set & good understanding of the analytical stages from data gathering to final delivery
  • It is anticipated that the appropriate candidate will have circa 2+ years experience in an analytical role
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and /or R and/or Python
  • Some statistical or data science modelling experience

·       Professionally qualified/relevant degree - Maths, Stats, Data Science, Operational Research Degree (Pref Masters)

Responsibilities:

  • Handling level 2-3 support cases, working directly with Imperva customers, partners and Sales Engineers.

Required Skills:

  • BSCS Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to clearly communicate in English both verbally and in writing
  • Minimum 3 years of high-level Technical Support experience
    • Additional experience working with Security or Network related products is preferred.
  • Support experience with a record of delivering customer satisfaction
  • Solid support experience working with technologies such as TCP/IP, HTTP, Load balancers, Proxies and Firewalls
  • Experience with troubleshooting tools such as tracert, tcpdump, and Wireshark
  • Troubleshooting experience with Relational Databases (MsSQL, Oracle, MySQL, DB2) is desirable.

Work on the Data Solutions team as Lead Data Engineerto prototype new data services, build tools and create data solutionsfor data sets ranging from millions to billions of rows. Use appropriate tools to activate the datasets for both internal and external consumers. The team primarily writes in Java, Scala and Python, operates in the AWS cloud and works to have fully automated deployments.The job traverses the realms of raw data ingest, ETL, storage, other AWS services, and development/maintenance of tools in order to process deliveries to customers on time, often under tight time constraints.

 

Responsibilities:

  • You will work closely with the group of dynamic engineers at FullContact, both in the US and abroad, to resolve programmatic challenges and day to day engineer-tasks.
  • Lead a team of offshore engineers through the successful completion of projects and mentor cross-functional teams 
  • Work with the clients/prospects to understand the requirements. Implement custom solutions for customers/potential prospects and be responsible for assigned customer deliverables.
  • Create data solutions to help maintain/close new business with customers
  • Work with product to prototype proof of concepts;Responsible for reviewing current systems, presenting ideas for system improvements.Be creative in developing automation tools for streamlining our processes.
  • Process large amounts of data leveraging big data technologies such as Spark, EMR, Kafka, and more
  • Steward customer and 3rd party data sets through our systems by running data pipelines; Normalizing and aggregating dirty data
  • Compile analytics around internal and external data sets which are used for validation and provide an overall assessment
  • Working with stakeholders including Engineering, Data, Product, QA, and Sales/GTM teams and assisting them with data-related technical issues.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of data engineering experience and experience in technical leadership.
  • Experience in solution design and implementation of data workflows
  • Ability to analyze data and derive insights and experience in Big Data Technologies using Spark/Hadoop
  • Programming experience in Python, Java, or Scala
  • Experience in AWS and ideally with tooling such as S3, Athena, EC2, EMR,  EKS
  • Traditional RDBMS and SQL (MySQL, Postgres, Aurora, Athena, etc)
  • Experience in building data pipelines and preferably with Airflow
  • CI/CD tools such as Spinnaker / Jenkins / Docker / Kubernetes
  • Linux / Unix and CLI scripting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and highly customer focused
  • Ability to handle project deliveries end-to-end 
  • Bonus: Understanding and/or industry experience in the MarTech/AdTech space

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $120,000-$140,000 base salary plus, company-based bonus plan, and equity.

About the Role:

We are searching for a Head of IT that is a leadership position reporting to the Chief Technology Officer. The primary responsibility is to ensure all Infrastructure and IT Operations are operated and managed efficiently and with a high level of customer satisfaction.

The role will be accountable for high availability, performance, reliability, and operations of the infrastructure services on the AWS Cloud, the Datacenter in Jefferson Valley, NY, and all related managed services. The teams that report into this role will be globally distributed and the peers to this role will be Engineering leaders and Architects. The role is expected to define and lead the execution to create the next generation of maturity and capability in Infrastructure services that will enable the company to scale as we grow.

The successful candidate should have a track record of driving the transformation of infrastructure through cloud migration while also being able to efficiently and effectively manage a hybrid cloud environment. Accordingly, this individual should be very comfortable working closely with internal stakeholders, including product management, engineering, architecture, quality assurance, project management, customer support, professional services, marketing, and sales, to support the services.

What you’ll do:

  • Be accountable for the success of the IT organization, with the right structure, talent, tools, and within the given budget. and have responsibility for team members in a distributed onshore/offshore model.
  • Manage the operations portfolio and identify opportunities to optimize infrastructure footprint, standardize on tools and reduce costs of cloud operations while providing exceptional client experience to be the primary contact for all matters cloud, Datacenter, and IT operations for the company.

  • Proven experience in managing a Datacenter serving tens of thousands of revenue-generating customers
