The Role

As our Senior Proposal Writer, you will be critical to the success of our new business segment, reporting into our Strategic Accounts Sales Leader. You are responsible for ensuring on-time delivery of proposals that contain accurate, up-to-date information and position Modern Health positively in the competitive market based on client pain points identified within RFx documentation and sales conversations. You will partner cross-functionally maintaining an updated content library and will partner with Sales to track RFx performance and implement process improvements.

This position is not eligible to be performed in Hawaii.

What You’ll Do

• Independently respond to proposal requests ensuring on-time, accurate submission
• Mentor other proposal writers on the team ensuring clear and concise written proposals to RFPs for senior HR & Finance executives
• Implement a quality control process to review and finalize proposals prior to submission 
• Partner with commercial teams to prioritize proposals based on business needs and track status from receipt to submission 
• Develop and maintain a library of standard language, services collateral and other data resources to create high-quality and accurate responses
• Partner cross-functionally to ensure the most up-to-date and accurate responses in the content library
• Implement improvements to existing practices, procedures and policies
• Establish a tracking system with win-loss information 
• Review and analyze RFP losses to recommend enhancements to standard language responses and/or products and services

Who You Are

• Minimum of 5 years experience with proposal writing/quote generation 
• Experience working on a dynamic team with multiple stakeholders across a go to market function 
• Experience working with Loopio is preferred
• Bachelors degree is preferred

What you'll be doing:

This role will be vital in the content planning and production of our proposals submitted to various federal agencies. Working directly with our proposal, BD, capture, solutioning, and operations teams, this role will work across the organization to ensure proposals are compelling, compliant, and responsive. This role will be instrumental in facilitating growth at Oddball and will have a direct impact across all business units and the future of our company.

What you’ll bring:

• Experience content planning, writing, and leading sections/volumes (e.g., technical approach and PWS/QASP, management, corporate experience) in response to multi-phase and quick-turn government RFP/Q/Is.
• Excellent technical and persuasive writing, with a proven ability to interview subject matter experts and synthesize technical information with the company’s value proposition to develop a compelling and compliant proposal.
• Experience working with VA, CMS, OPM, SEC, and/or DoD, with domain understanding and knowledge.
• Managing relationships and working with partners to ensure stakeholder engagement throughout the process.
• Tech-savvy: experience communicating, writing, and presenting technical information to all levels and types of stakeholders (both technical and non-technical). 
• An understanding of key IT initiatives and concepts, including: Agile, cloud, DevSecOps, HCD, IT modernization, cybersecurity, data analytics, etc.
• Familiarity with federal government contracting, including regulations (e.g., FAR) and compliance, contract vehicles, and overall opportunity lifecycle.

Compensation:

At Oddball, it’s important each employee is compensated competitively and fairly. In alignment with state legal requirements. A range for the included position is listed below. Be advised, actual offer details are determined by job category, job location, and candidate skill level.

United States Wage Range: $90,000 – $110,000

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Capture Writer to join our growing team. The Capture Writer will play a crucial role in supporting business development efforts by crafting compelling narratives that clearly communicate our value proposition, products, and solutions in response to requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for information (RFIs), and other sales and marketing content. This role is essential in helping our company win new business and expand our customer base.

Key Responsibilities:

• Proposal Writing: Lead the development of written content for RFPs, RFIs, and other client-facing documents. Ensure that all responses align with the client's needs, highlight our unique selling points, and adhere to submission requirements.
• Content Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (sales, product, engineering, etc.) to gather the necessary information and translate it into clear, concise, and persuasive content.
• Competitive Analysis: Analyze competitor proposals and industry trends to refine messaging and positioning in our responses.
• Storytelling: Craft narratives that resonate with prospective clients, articulating complex SaaS solutions in an accessible and engaging manner.
• Editing & Proofreading: Review content for grammar, clarity, consistency, and compliance with brand voice and tone guidelines.
• Project Management: Manage proposal timelines, ensuring all deadlines are met and maintaining a high level of organization throughout the proposal process.
• Sales Enablement: Assist in the creation of case studies, white papers, and other sales collateral to support the sales team's efforts.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience in capture writing, proposal writing, technical writing, or a related field, preferably within the SaaS or technology sector.
• Writing Skills: Exceptional written communication skills, with a strong ability to craft clear, concise, and persuasive content.
• Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with SaaS products, cloud technology, and software solutions is a plus.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously without compromising quality.
• Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with subject matter experts across different departments.
• Time Management: Ability to work under tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
• Tools: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and experience with proposal management software (e.g., RFPIO, Loopio) is a plus.
