[22-11] Remote full-stack Ruby on Rails Developer
Make a difference to the lives of 1,000s of ethical hackers building the tools they need.
You'll be a trusted and key member of our team, and this is (some of) what you'll end up doing on a day-to-day basis:
Our stack:
We're looking for a solid Rubyist with «adequate» experience who is comfortable in a 100% distributed team and is self-driven.
This is a full-time position for the right candidate and it has an immediate start date. Work 100% remotely on flexible schedule with 4h of overlap with EU business hours.
Ideally you've held a remote position before, or you've held a similar position of responsibility in a traditional organisation but now are looking to improve your work-life balance.
You are a well-rounded individual, work is not everything in life, you may have a family and social life. You work hard when it's work time and are able to switch off when it isn't.
You're comfortable communicating with others verbally and in writing. Our team is spread across the world, and so are our users.
You are organised, like to be on top of your responsibilities and don't let things slip through the cracks. You will be sure to include the name of your favourite tv series as part of your application.
A knack for design / UX will be a plus. Background in Information Security wouldn't hurt either.
You believe in giving back to the community. We started with an open-source project and to this day we remain firm believers of open-source and giving back. Most of what you will be creating with the team will be released as open-source.

- About the role:
We are looking to hire a skilled WordPress developer to design and implement attractive and functional websites for our clients. You will be responsible mainly for front-end development, including implementing WordPress themes and plugins, site integration, and security updates. To be a successful WordPress developer, you should have in-depth knowledge of front-end programming languages, a good eye for aesthetics, and robust content management skills. Ultimately, a top-class WordPress developer can create attractive, user-friendly websites that perfectly meet the design and functionality specifications of the client.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience working as a WordPress Developer.
- 3+ Years of Experience working with React.js.
- 3+ Years of Experience working with APIs.
- 1+ Years of Experience working with Next.js.
- Understanding and application of solid principles of software design.
- Detail-oriented, professional, and positive work attitude.
- Familiar with Agile methodologies.
- Advanced English level.
- Responsibilities:
- Designing and implementing new features and functionality
- Establishing and guiding the website’s architecture
- Ensuring high performance and availability and managing all technical aspects of the CMS
- Helping formulate an effective, responsive design and turning it into a working WordPress theme and plugin.
- Meeting with clients to discuss website design and function.
- Designing and building the website front-end.
- General info about the profile and project:
We’re looking for someone to join Jeff Team (WordPress-focused). We have different teams working simultaneously in other tech stacks. Our projects are typically fix-cope, either freshly built or something already made, so we have to enhance, upgrade or maintain them. We do have some other projects that are more Agile, but the majority are fix-cope. We work with an in-house design team, so they create a design system and break it into different components or pieces on the website, so this person coming in would need to help develop features and make those pieces. Once the features have been built and tested, they assemble them into pages and wire them into the CMS backend (WordPress), then ship them to a testing environment with our QA Testing Resources. The Team is working on different projects consecutively and even simultaneously, so one week, they might be working on something, and the following week we move to another project. We’re a small team intentionally; all our teams are trios or pairs. We create everything in isolation; we don’t build them alongside other components like data fetching or API integration. The details get built with SASS and Storybrook, so someone familiar with Storybrook would be awesome, but it’s not a hard requirement. The CMS is WordPress; it’s used in 3 different ways. Sometimes, it’s the very traditional way, PHP template-driven, basic. In some others, it’s a headless API exposed to a GraphQL API or Rest API, and then the React to app consumes its data. In that case, knowledge of WordPress is less critical because it’s all just an API. Our last case and newest it’s based on ATLAS WPEngine, it’s still WordPress Backend and Headless, but the frontend uses Faust.js, which is an import of Next.js, so experience in React and Next.js would be essential.
