The Opportunity

  6. Conduct system assessments, performance tuning, and optimizations to maximize the efficiency and scalability of NetSuite solutions.
  7. Serve as a subject matter expert on NetSuite capabilities, features, and enhancements, staying informed about new releases and updates.
  8. Mentor and train junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices to build expertise within the organization.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  2. Minimum of 8 years of experience in architecting, implementing, and supporting NetSuite functional solutions.
  3. Proven expertise in core NetSuite modules, including Record to Report, Lead to Quote, Order to Cash, Design to Build, and Procure to Pay. Experience in ARM and SuiteBilling or inventory, manufacturing, and related functions preferred.
  4. Experience gathering functional requirements for customizations and integrations, conveying those requirements to technical resources, and ensuring those requirements are met and that solutions are fully tested prior to delivery to clients.

Purpose 

The Software Engineer contributes to the success of SquareWorks by participating in the full software development lifecycle from concept and planning to delivery and deployment. This role will support the SquareWorks team in troubleshooting and resolving customer support issues as they arise. Essential Job Functions

  • Implements and maintains code for product features
  • Writing clean code and unit tests to support any source code changes, performing code reviews, and related activities that contribute to development and maintenance
  • Understand and apply software engineering best practices while modifying/enhancing our software platform and in code reviews
  • Attend and contribute to design review meetings
  • Offering input into the designs of product enhancements and third-party integrations and documenting designs

  • Being responsible for the design and implementation of new product features and enhancements with guidance and input from other team members

Skills and Eligibility Requirements

  • 4 or more years of experience in a software engineering/development role 
  • Experience in an Agile software development environment 
  • Desire to ship high quality software at great velocity 
  • Thorough understanding of topics discussed in the influential works and authors describing the pillars of software engineering (e.g. content covered in Code Complete, Design Patterns, Clean Code, Refactoring, The Pragmatic Programmer, etc.) 
  • Expertise in one or more of the following technologies:  
  • Modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g. React, Vue, Angular, etc.) 
  • Server-side languages such as TypeScript/JavaScript, PHP, C#, Java, etc.

    • Prepare for and run ad-hoc client meetings to aid in software support resolution.

    • Resolve non-technical software support requests. Types of requests will include, but not be limited to:

    • Questions regarding existing software functionality, configuration, best practices, and potential upgrades.

    • Requests for assistance with end-user training related to SquareWorks software.

    • Requests for troubleshooting of existing software configuration.

    • Implementation of new software functionality.

    • Audit-related questions regarding software security, compliance, and controls.

    • Requests for new, and modification to existing, NetSuite reports related to SquareWorks software.

    • Questions related to software new releases and updates.

    • Facilitate resolution of technical support (bug fix) requests by coordinating communication between clients and the SquareWorks Product and Engineering teams.

    • Assist in the ongoing improvement of SquareWorks’ software support delivery operations.

    • Manage the implementation of SquareWorks’ various software bundles and SuiteApps. Will include, but not be limited to:

    • Preparing for and participating in client-facing meetings.

    • Gathering client requirements and compiling associated client-facing documentation.

    • Installing and configuring SquareWorks software to meet defined requirements.

    • Performing QA testing of configuration.

    • Coordinating client user acceptance testing.

    • Coordinating project go-live activities.

    • Performing basic project management tasks.

    • Ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.

    • Capture client requests for software customizations and communicate the associated functional requirements to the SquareWorks Engineering and Technical Services teams.
