What You'll Do:

You shall support the transition of the currently used software to automotive grade middleware standards. Explicitly you will focus on the transition of the safety critical part to the safety microcontroller of the ECU, which requires the usage of AUTOSAR Classic. The configuration of the AUTOSAR Base Configuration as well as the integration on the safety controller belong to his position. Further, the development of application software and supporting the transition of existing software components (C++) to AUTOSAR Classic is an additional task.

  • Integration and configuration of the AUTOSAR stack (e.g. Vector) on the Nvidia Functional Safety Island and the Aurix Safety Microcontroller.
  • AUTOSAR Base Stack Configuration: Bootloader, MCAL, COM Stack (CAN, Some/IP, DDS), Security Stack, SecOC, Diagnostic Stack, etc.
  • System Configuration, ECU configuration, ECU extract integration.
  • Test AUTOSAR Configuration in SiL, HiL, Bench, & Vehicle
  • Creation of the Software Architecture using modeling tools such as PreeVision
  • Deriving Code Templates from Architecture using tools as DaVinci & EB Tresos
  • Support in porting of existing C++/ROS applications to embedded C.
  • Implementation of ported ROS application into the AUTOSAR classic stack.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer Engineering or related & 6+ years of professional experience OR a Master's Degree & 4+ years of experience
  • Excellent experience in configuration of AUTOSAR Classic Stacks
  • Excellent C++ and Embedded C Coding Skills
  • Experience with automotive embedded Controllers

Meet The Team:

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with the Product and System Engineering teams to identify and evaluate hazards related to Safety Of The Intended Functionality (SOTIF according to ISO 21448).
  • Support analysis and evaluation of Acceptance Criteria for identified SOTIF hazards.

  • Contribute to the development of the Safety Case including definition and tracking of Safety Performance Indicators.
  • Work with internal business partners such as the Systems Engineering team to establish alignment on safety processes and methods. 
  • Conduct and support reviews of safety artifacts applying appropriate level of rigor to review process.

What You’ll Need to Succeed: 

  • Degree(s) in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field with relevant experience.
    • PHD with 5+ years of experience.
    • Master of Science degree with 7+ years of experience.
    • Bachelor of Science degree and 10+ years of experience. 
  • Extensive experience with safety analyses such as HAZOP, FMEA, STPA, and FTA. 
  • Solid understanding of industry standards and best practices related to autonomous technologies.   
  • Demonstrated experience working according to key industry standards such as Functional Safety (ISO 26262) and Safety Of The Intended Functionality (ISO 21448). 
  • Systems thinking with underlying engineering knowledge of the complex physical and software systems used in autonomy technologies. 
  • Knowledge in the following disciplines: software engineering, networking, electrical and mechanical systems, system components, and artificial intelligence/machine learning. 
  • Position requires occasional travel to Torc locations, government locations, etc.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Law degree from an accredited institution

  • Master’s degree in computer engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or related technical field.
  • Alternately, will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or related technical field, plus five years of experience in a related position. What You’ll Need to Succeed:

  • Technical Strategy Development. The Tech Lead IC is expected to identify and highlight upcoming technical risks and gaps that support the product roadmap, and contribute to tech strategy forums and workshops.

  • Create end-user documentation (e.g., user guides, process flow charts, training materials) and deliver documents and presentations, as needed.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage and resolve critical incidents and escalations in a timely manner, using effective communication and problem-solving skills to minimize impact and risk.
  • Engage with other teams in the company, representing the engineering group, forming relationships, helping find opportunities for collaboration and resolving blockers.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Demonstrates competences and technical proficiencies typically acquired through:
    • BS and 10+ years of experience OR MS and 7+ years of experience
  • Requires moderate skill set and proficiency in discipline; completes important work under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment.
  • Experience with databases and/or management systems.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex topics into succinct messages.
  • Highly organized and deadline oriented as well as thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-starter who can work independently.
  • Ability to effectively work within and lead cross-functional teams with geographically dispersed team members throughout the globe.
  • Ability to learn through on-the-job experience, training courses, and self-directed research.

  • Technology background with proven ability to quickly understand complex technology subjects.
