You will serve as one of 10 EIRs (click here for a full description of each role) for our Growth Stage members (post-revenue; ~series A). Our EIRs will work closely with 150+ growth-stage startups, providing hands-on coaching and practical expertise to help them scale and thrive. These startups are on the brink of becoming industry leaders, and we’re here to give them the tools, guidance, and support they need to accelerate their growth. This is your chance to shape the future of innovation and empower the next generation of groundbreaking companies.

Responsibilities:

  • Host monthly in-person office hours at 1871 (Wednesdays) to connect directly with founders and provide personalized mentorship.
  • Dedicate 2 hours per week to virtual or in-person office hours, offering tailored guidance to startups at various stages.
  • Facilitate small group problem-solving sessions every other month, focusing on founders at the seed stage and functional leaders within startups (e.g., VP of Sales at Series A companies).
  • Collaborate with 1871 to produce two thought leadership case studies annually, leveraging your expertise to highlight impactful strategies or solutions.
  • Understand and guide the growth-stage startups to resources and networking opportunities within and outside of 1871

Time Commitment

  • Provide 2 hours of office hours weekly outside of the monthly in-person sessions.
  • Commit to attending at least 90% of in-person office hours.
  • Sign a one-year contract with a commitment to actively engage and support the 1871 community.
  • Demonstrated deep expertise in one or more of the key EIR roles (e.g., sales, fundraising, operations, or technology).
  • At least 8+ years of experience working directly with growth-stage startups.
  • A passion for mentorship and a drive to contribute meaningfully while building your personal brand within a thriving entrepreneurial community.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Dissect the renovation process to understand the key data points to collect across each unique project to build a predictive model to estimate jobs instantaneously.
  • Design and develop a matching algorithm (similar to Uber matching riders and drivers) by using the predictive estimating technology to pair clients with a full suite of subcontractors based on figure cost and schedules 
  • Integrate with existing project management software (e.g., BuilderTrend).
  • Assisting other departments in using technology effectively

The Role The Department of Defense (DoD) Sales Executive is responsible for driving business growth by establishing and strengthening relationships within the U.S. Department of Defense with special emphasis on research groups. The Role:

This position involves development and enhancement of the Parallel Works platform, which runs on all three leading public cloud platforms: AWS, Azure and Google Cloud. You will interact with HPC job schedulers, cloud APIs, workflow management frameworks, and container systems to create a responsive, reliable, and user friendly system. Required Experience

Minimum:

  • BSci in Computer Science or related field.
  • 5-7+ years of programming experience in Golang or TypeScript WebSockets RabbitMQ or other queue based software architecture
  • Database experience with MongoDB and PostgreSQL
  • Distributed computing, good understanding of how software is load balanced and deployed in production
  • Tunneling and port forwarding
  • Comfortable with Linux operating system, command-line shell interpreters and scripting techniques
  • Experience writing and maintaining unit and integration tests

Desired Experience:

The Role

In your role as Project Manager you will lead and coordinate projects in High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments. About the Role:

IN BOLD PRINT is seeking a driven Full-Stack Software Engineer to own the next generation of our software platform’s development.

Our platform helps small to midsize companies in the consumer goods space measure their carbon emissions to meet regulatory requirements and drive revenue growth. Think of IN BOLD PRINT as the ‘TurboTax’ of carbon accounting. Our platform offers 1) a simple, guided interface that allows users to quickly and easily enter the right information about their business, 2) a powerful carbon emissions calculation engine that delivers accurate, share-able results, and 3) intelligent insights that give businesses the information they need to report and reduce their emissions.

In This Role, You Will:

  • Work directly with our CTO to architect, design, and develop the next version of our software platform, focusing first on our customer portal, from the ground up
  • Manage the entire software development lifecycle for new features, including service ownership, testing, CI/CD, troubleshooting, and support
  • Create user-friendly software that allows users to easily interpret and provide necessary information
  • Design front-end software with back-end data architecture in mind to facilitate auditable carbon emissions calculations and insights
  • Initially, spend 90% of your time on front-end development, gradually increasing back-end work and determining your preferred balance as the team and roadmap evolve
  • Apply best practices and modern technologies to develop a reusable code base that supports high modularity, extensibility, configurability, and maintainability
  • Build a robust technical foundation within a cloud PaaS architecture, including CI/CD practices like automated testing and version control, for team use as we grow
  • Provide technical direction and estimates for new features to guide the product roadmap
  • Develop well-designed test cases and adhere to testing guidelines and best practices
  • Identify and resolve technical debt and performance bottlenecks, improve code, and deploy enhancements to production
  • Document your codebase with requirements, decisions made, future improvements, and any other necessary information to ensure others can easily pick up where you left off, maintaining flexibility for the entire team
  • Continuously evaluate new technologies and innovations to enhance platform capabilities and functionality, integrating third-party services where necessary

Your Technical Skills

  • Proven experience in developing full-stack software solutions with a strong track record of delivering high-quality code independently and at scale
  • Experienced as both an architect and hands-on developer for end-to-end solutions currently in production
