We're looking for a world-class brand marketer to orchestrate and evolve our brand presence as we enter further into our omni-channel era. You'll lead our Creative, Social, and Customer Experience teams to elevate the Magic Spoon brand to the next level through creative storytelling, partnerships, and campaigns. This role reports to our Chief Commercial Officer. 

This is a full time, in-person/hybrid role (Tues, Weds + Thurs in office) based in Tribeca, NYC.

As (Sr) Director of Brand Marketing you’ll:

  • Oversee brand marketing channels including Creative, Organic Social, PR/Comms, Customer Experience, and Partnerships
    • Social: lead strategy development for, and support execution of, grid planning and content creation across Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, Threads 
    • Creative: Lead review processes for creative work, ensuring activations are brand aligned; prioritize creative work streams to align effort behind highest value add efforts
    • PR: Set annual PR goals and work with our agency to support best utilization of funding to drive impressions and awareness
    • Customer Experience and Community: support our customer facing team members in bringing brand aligned messaging across email and social media comments
    • Partnerships: Explore opportunities as appropriate, identifying meaningful and authentic collaborations
    • Strategy and Planning: Own marketing KPIs related to awareness, trial, repeat and brand health in order to develop and track against marketing strategy
    • Consumer understanding: Able to incorporate disparate insights tools into grounded assessment of target
  • Support brand launch moments large and small (retail expansion, new products, holidays etc), leading omni-channel activations across our brand marketing channels
  • Collaborate with leadership & other commercial teams to advance brand positioning work to ensure all brand messaging is true to Magic Spoon as we grow and evolve
  • Work deeply with Growth and Retail teams to ensure that creative assets, social grids, and PR strategy support our net sales goals and compliment our strengths in rigorous performance marketing while staying on brand
  • Strong experience in managing down non working dollars through management of roster of freelance talent
  • Brings a can do attitude, with an ability to pitch-in on creative needs, such as copy development and content ideation, through to supporting sales meeting materials
  • 8+ years of brand marketing experience with CPG brand with ideally omnichannel focus, however, retail only would be considered. 
  • 5+ years management experience and 1+ years experience in managing teams of 4+ people
  • Experience at a brand that is over $50MM in revenue although ideally $100MM plus that has seen growth of 30%+ / year
  • Experience managing in house creatives or extensive creative agency management experience
  • Experience leading in house organic social and PR agencies
  • Strong experience in leading packaging development work for base business refreshes and innovation
  • Strong project management skills, where they have owned prioritization, as well as budgeting
  • Comfortable leading and executing cross functional launches and campaigns
  • An obsession with brand, creative, and story-telling
  • A love of all things food, fitness, wellness, and startups

In this position, you will be accountable for the achievement of account-specific goals by building strategic sales plans, developing customer relationships, managing broker partners and executing a trade marketing plan to drive sales and profitability growth through effective promotions, new item distribution and retail excellence. This role will report into the Sr. Director of Grocery and is a remote position (with expectation to visit the Tribeca NY office at least once per Q).

As Account Manager, Grocery (West/Central) you'll:

  • Be responsible for all aspects of the business in brokers and distributors through meetings, scorecards, and clear communication
  • Deliver effective sales presentations to key customers and brokers by turning data into insights to drive distribution, promotional effectiveness and overall profitable sales growth
  • Develop and deliver against key customer strategic plans
  • Build value added customer relationships and ensure key KPIs are achieved
  • Provide accurate forecasts for volumes and revenue for assigned accounts
  • Attend trade association meetings and trade shows as needed
  • Collaborate with cross functional partners internally to develop and align on plans
  • 4+ years of CPG (preferably food) experience across Conventional Grocery 
  • Experience scaling in retail; ideally you’ve grown an emerging brand 
  • Experience managing a broker network
  • Working knowledge of trade promotions, business math and forecasting
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong understanding of syndicated sales data (Neilsen, IRI, or Spins) and ability to leverage data and analytics in building convincing data based sales stories
  • Must be self-driven, results oriented, and able to drive sales while working independently
  • Willingness to travel to customers and NYC HQ as needed

As Accounting Manager, you'll: 

  • Manage and oversee day-to-day financial operations, including revenue, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities
  • Support the Retail sales team on revenue reporting, commissions calculations, trade spend accounting and new customer set-up
  • Drive efficiencies in processes, work product and ways of working across the accounting team
  • Perform month-end reconciliations for key accounts such as revenue, fixed assets, receivables and accrued expenses, booking journal entries when necessary
  • Prepare and review accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP accounting standards 
  • Provide thoughtful insights to FP&A team on monthly actuals, and support them in their budget-to-actual analysis
  • Coordinate with external auditors for annual financial audits 
  • Create process documents & controls within accounting and high-spend areas to drive organization and accountability across the organization
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reporting 
  • Collaborate internally with the Finance team, as well as with cross-functional teams 
  • Bachelorʼs degree in Finance or Accounting 
  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Public accounting experience and CPA certification preferred 
  • Experience with CPG / retail 
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards 
  • Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills 
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, specifically Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is a plus 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities 
  • Organized, detail-orientated and proactive team member 
  • Excellent communication and time management skills 
  • Outstanding attention to detail coupled with an ability to see a bigger picture

  • 2-5 years of experience with a proven track record of growing personal or (preferably) brand TikTok and Instagram
  • Must be comfortable with UGC including filming, editing and being on camera 
  • Demonstrated experience working with video editing platforms such as CapCut, InShot, Adobe Premiere Pro 
  • Up to date with social media trends and what’s working and trending on TikTok an Instagram 
  • Experience in social media metrics and monitoring tools (I.e. Sprout Social)
  • Proven ability to be a creative and innovative thinker including excellence in concepting & copywriting

ERP and BI System Support

Onboarding New Team Members

  • Manage the technology onboarding process for new employees, including setting up any necessary equipment and software.
  • Provide training and support to new hires on company systems, tools, and best practices.
  • Ensure all necessary access permissions and accounts are created and configured.

Collaboration and Improvement

  • Establish and implement software, system, and data management policies to govern the organization.
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify technology needs and opportunities for improvement.

  • Events:
    • Support People Operations Manager with organization and execution of all team events, both in office and off-sites, including team calendar management
  • 0-2 years of professional experience in People/HR, Office Management, Talent Acquisition or other relevant field —preferably in a startup environment and/or in a small to medium-sized company

This is a full time, in-person/hybrid role (3 days in office p/w on average) based in Tribeca, NYC.

As Project Manager (Product & Operations), you'll:

  • Manage E2E projects for product and operations 
  • Deliver projects on time and on budget through cross-functional collaboration and accountability 
  • Continuously update and optimize timelines, process, documents, and tools
  • Facilitate meetings among relevant parties to maintain timeline integrity
  • Lead weekly project meetings, and send updates/dashboard weekly
  • 3-5+ years independently managing projects end to end
    • Ideally within food innovation/CPG/Operations
  • Experience managing cross functional innovation projects from concept to post mortem
  • Experience using project management software (ideally smartsheet or similar)
  • Understanding of stage gate processes and best practices
  • Exceptional attention to detail and time management
  • Experience managing projects in a matrixed organization
  • Expertise in project management tools and timeline creation
  • Strong meeting facilitation and management skills
  • Background in creating project and portfolio dashboards
  • Strong communication skills
  • Process driven, and detail oriented

We’re looking for a Senior Food Scientist to support the development work associated with our exciting pipeline of projects!

This is a full time, in-person/hybrid role (Tues, Weds, Thursday in office) based in Tribeca, NYC.Some additional travel may be required for this role.

As Senior Food Scientist, you'll:

Primary

  • Manage Ingredients/Formulas in nutrition software
  • Be responsible for all calculations for packaging
    • Us vs. them
    • Net carbs
    • NFP
    • Ingredient declaration
  • Be responsible for prototyping, formulation, pilot production and scale-up to plant implementation of innovation & renovation projects
  • Create technical documents, specifications and cook preps
  • Manage Lab Inventory needed for prototypes and samples
  • Manage Internal Sensory testing - including analysis of results/recommendations of next steps
  • Coordinate benchtop sample requests to ensure samples/prototypes are completed in a timely and efficient manner

Secondary

  • Provide technical support to Operations/Manufacturing Team for commissioning of innovation and renovation projects
  • Leverage R&D resources at manufacturing facilities to increase technical capabilities for product/process improvement initiatives
  • Support ingredient and formulation trial plans
  • Ensure compliance to internal and external policies, quality standards and legal requirements
  • Provides support in building technical expertise and maintaining a community of best practice to technical colleagues
  • Maintain accurate and complete records with a high level of organization
  • Handle product cuttings, testing and other duties as assigned
  • Support team on shelf life testing - real time and accelerated

  • Possess strong product development skills in ingredient functionality, material selection and formulation to understand effects on finished product performance
  • A BS or MS degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering or a related degree
  • At least 5 years of relevant concept to launch experience in formulation, start-up & continuous improvement or optimization projects
  • Previous experience with ESHA/Genesis or ProductVision
  • Ability to build strong trusted working relationships and rapport at all levels & demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Are familiar with the activities in Marketing, Market Research, Legal/Regulatory, QA and Manufacturing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Be able to travel up to 35%
