Position Title & Overview:

The ideal candidate will have a strong data analytics background and outstanding business acumen. This role will involve leading data analytics activities to extract insights from large datasets, develop predictive models, and drive data-driven decision-making across the organization. The person in this role will also manage a small team of Data Analysts and report directly to the Director of Data & Analytics.

The Data & Analytics team consists of data analysts, data engineers and analytics engineers working to build the most effective platform and tools to help uncover opportunities and make decisions with data here at Mediavine. We partner with Product, Support, Ad Operations and other teams within the Engineering department to understand behavior, develop accurate predictors and build solutions that provide the best internal and external experience possible.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team of data analysts, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment
  • Develop and maintain advanced analytics and reporting frameworks to provide actionable insights to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including revenue, finance, marketing, product, and engineering, to define and prioritize data science initiatives
  • Present findings and insights to stakeholders, translating complex data into clear and actionable recommendations
  • Stay current with the latest developments in data science, machine learning, and the AdTech industry to continuously improve our capabilities and inform strategic decisions
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and maintain the highest data integrity and security standards
  • Collaborate with data engineering leadership to enable accurate, timely, and actionable data foundations for analytics projects 
  • Work with project and product management teams to set measurable KPIs at the project and product level

You Have:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Analytics, Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in an analytics or related role
  • 3+ years of proven experience leading and managing a team of data analysts in a remote environment
  • Experience with machine learning, modeling, algorithms, and knowledge extraction, preferred
  • Experience with MLOps using Azure ML, ADF, Databricks, Google Cloud, or AWS, preferred
  • Experience working with advanced data pipelines
  • Strong proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Domo, Tableau) and reporting platforms
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and database programming
  • Experience in programming languages such as Python and/or R

Position Title & Overview:

The mission of Ad Operations at Mediavine is to support our content creators and their businesses by continuously building and maintaining relationships with our Ad Exchange Partners as well as to partner with internal teams to cultivate potential partnerships, troubleshoot for new and existing partners, and to stay on the cutting edge of understanding and supporting new products and technology.

Position Title & Overview:

  • Connecting with internal stakeholders, including Account Management and Account Executives to source and vet ideas for perks, programs, tools, and services that will resonate with publishers
  • Develop relationships with partners (E.g. Top Hat Rank), coordinate program rollouts and maintain ongoing engagement with current partnerships

Position Title & Overview:

The Manager, Publisher Success is responsible for overseeing a team of account managers, ensuring the successful delivery of client services, and driving customer satisfaction and retention. This role reports to the SVP, Publisher Success and will develop and implement strategies to optimize account performance, maximize revenue, and ensure the long-term success of client accounts.  

The Manager, Publisher Success focuses on Mediavine’s core client base, publishers who receive team based account management earning over $75,000 per year with dedicated attention to the experience of those earning over $30,000 per year, as they enter the competitive landscape of ad monetization. The person in this role will serve as an effective leader and motivator for a team of Account Managers in a growing but ever-changing industry. 

Providing proactive solutions for publishers that will help them to surface opportunities to increase revenue, ensure their satisfaction with our services, proactively retain them, and grow overall revenue for this segment of Mediavine publishers. A manager that leads the team by example with a “publisher first” mentality, sets a high bar, and continuously reevaluates what success means for publishers at this level. 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of account managers, providing guidance and support to ensure the highest levels of performance while fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment
  • Ensure client satisfaction by understanding their business needs, anticipating challenges and providing solutions that align with their objectives, demonstrating proactive problem-solving and strategic thinking
  • Reduce turnaround time for the assigned base of publishers, programs, and client areas by focusing on proactive retention and continuous improvement 
  • Develop strategies to maximize revenue growth within existing accounts, including best practices and feature adoption opportunities to drive innovation
  • Ensure an outstanding publisher experience with every interaction across the account management team
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor and point of escalation
  • Monitor account health, proactively identifying risks and opportunities, and implementing strategies to address them
  • Track and analyze key performance metrics related to account management, such as client retention, revenue growth, and customer satisfaction
  • Continuously evaluate and refine account management processes and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement initiatives that enhance client engagement and drive account growth, serving as a voice internally for our publishers
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of team schedules, setting expectations for coverage, ensuring adequate coverage during business hours, including weekends and holidays, and effectively coordinating time off requests to maintain optimal service levels
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, set objectives, and identify training and development needs for the team
  • Recruit, train, and retain a team with the expertise required to meet publisher needs, align with company standards, and consistently exceed performance goals
  • Apply strategic thinking to anticipate challenges, develop innovative solutions and make data-driven decisions that enhance client satisfaction
  • Cultivate long-term, client relationships by acting as a reliable advisor, addressing needs proactively and ensuring continuous engagement
  • Availability to travel to on-site locations for team retreats, leadership meetings, publisher events and the annual all-hands events (approximately 20% of the time)

You Have:

    • 5+ years of progressive experience in a customer-facing role, with at least 3+ years of experience in ad management, publisher-facing preferred
    • Experience with Mediavine, our publishers, and ad-tech preferred
    • Deep understanding of our products and services, and their applications to ensure publisher success
    • Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships, cultivating lasting connections with publishers and partners
    • Experience working remotely in a distributed team environment, utilizing tools such as Slack and Google Suite
    • Proficiency in CRM software and account management tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce)
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with various audiences, including publishers, peers, leadership, and cross-functional teams
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills that resonate across diverse stakeholder groups
    • Proven initiative and problem-solving ability, with a knack for troubleshooting and de-escalating situations when necessary
    • Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize competing tasks and manage multiple projects effectively

Position Title & Overview:

The Technical Product Manager will serve as a vital bridge between technical execution and product strategy, ensuring the successful delivery of features and projects for our ad management platform, including the Data & Analytics and SRE teams that support it. This role focuses on translating complex technical requirements into actionable tasks while managing cross-functional relationships with engineering leadership and key stakeholders. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of both technology and product management, fostering innovation, ensuring project alignment with strategic goals, and driving optimal outcomes through collaboration.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning and execution of technical projects within our product lifecycle process. Define clear project milestones, timelines, and dependencies, and ensure on-time delivery
  • Partner closely with individual contributors, engineering leadership, and stakeholders to ensure alignment of technical product strategy with broader company goals. Facilitate discovery sessions and regular updates to maintain transparency
  • Work with engineering teams to break down complex technical features into detailed, actionable requirements. Lead refinement sessions, ensuring clarity and completeness of requirements before development begins
  • Define and track KPIs for features and technical projects. Use data-driven insights to monitor feature performance, recommend iterations, and drive continuous improvement
  • Develop and maintain a high-level view of priorities that balances long-term technical goals with immediate business needs, while remaining agile to pivot based on industry changes and stakeholder input. Ensure alignment of short-term actions with broader objectives without compromising adaptability
  • Identify and address technical risks that may impact project timelines, quality, or performance. Work with engineering teams to proactively solve potential roadblocks
  • Continuously assess opportunities with our teams to optimize our infrastructure and support its growth. Collaborate with SRE and Data teams to implement scalable solutions and monitor platform health
  • Work closely with the Director of Innovation, other PMs and stakeholders to explore emerging technologies and assess their impact on our business, fostering a culture of experimentation and technical advancement
  • Required travel on an as needed basis, for our annual All Hands Retreat, Team Retreats/Meetings and/or industry events/conferences (approx. 15%)

You Have:

  • 7+ years of product management experience with a focus on technical products, including defining, launching, and optimizing product and services experience
  • 5+ years of experience as a technical product manager 
  • Ad Tech industry experience and familiarity with Ad Technologies like Open RTB, Prebid and GAM, a plus
  • Experience with HubSpot integrations, a plus
  • Engineering experience in JavaScript/Node, a plus
  • Experience writing SQL queries, a plus
  • Experience with Snowflake, a plus
  • Familiarity with data systems, cloud infrastructure (AWS), or SRE practices, a plus
  • Current experience partnering with engineering teams on complex technical projects 
  • Demonstrated skill and experience with engaging and leading in discussions including architecture, APIs, data flows, and infrastructure
  • Experience efficiently communicating findings and progress to cross-functional teams, senior leadership with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to understand complex systems, identify interdependencies and can recognize how platform components interact with each other, while anticipating downstream effects of product decisions
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery of technical features and initiatives
  • Proficiency in project management tools (Jira) and understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Proven ability to conduct thorough research and be an innovative thinker, which involves anticipating, identifying, defining, and solving complex problems

Position Title & Overview:

The Data & Analytics team consists of data analysts, data engineers and analytics engineers working to build the most effective platform and tools to help uncover opportunities and make decisions with data here at Mediavine. We partner with Product, Support, Ad Operations and other teams within the Engineering department to understand behavior, develop accurate predictors and build solutions that provide the best internal and external experience possible.

A Data Engineer at Mediavine will help build and maintain our data infrastructure. Building scalable data pipelines, managing transformation processes, and ensuring data quality and security at all steps along the way. This will include writing and maintaining code in Python and SQL, developing on AWS, and selecting and using third-party tools like Rundeck, Metabase, and others to round out the environment. You will be involved in decisions around tool selection and coding standards.

 Our current data engineering toolkit consists of custom Python data pipelines, AWS infrastructure including Kinesis pipelines, Rundeck scheduling, dbt for transformation and Snowflake as our data warehouse platform. We are open to new tools and expect this position to be a part of deciding the direction we take. 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Create data pipelines that make data available for analytic and application use cases
  • Develop self-healing, resilient processes that do not require constant care and feeding to run smoothly
  • Create meaningful data quality notifications with clear actions for interested parties including other internal teams and other members of the data and analytics team
  • Leading projects from a technical standpoint, creating project Technical Design Documents
  •  Support data analysts and analytics engineers ability to meet the needs of the organization
  • Participate in code reviews, understanding coding standards, ensuring test coverage and being aware of best practices
  • Build or implement tooling around data quality, governance and lineage, in the dbt framework and Snowflake but external to that as needed
  • Provide next level support when data issues are discovered and communicated by the data analysts
  • Work with data analysts and analytics engineers to standardize transformation logic in the dbt layer for consistency and ease of exploration by end users
  • Enable analytics engineers and data analysts by providing data modeling guidance, query optimization and aggregation advice

Location:

You Have: 

  • 3+ years of experience in a data engineering role
  • Strong Python skills (Understands tradeoffs, optimization, etc)
  • Strong SQL skills (CTEs, window functions, optimization)
  • Experience working in cloud environments (AWS preferred, GCS, Azure)
  • An understanding of how to best structure data to enable internal and external facing analytics
  • Familiarity with calling APIs to retrieve data (Authentication flows, filters, limits, pagination)
  • Experience working with DevOps to deploy, scale and monitor data infrastructure
  • Scheduler experience either traditional or DAG based
  • Comfortable working with multi-TB cloud data warehouses (Snowflake preferred, Redshift, Big Query)
  • Experience with other DBMS systems (Postgres in particular)

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with web analysis such as creating data structure that support product funnels, user behavior, and decision path analysis 
  • Understanding of Snowflake external stages, file formats and snowpipe
  • Experience with orchestration tools particularly across different technologies and stacks
  • Experience with dbt
  • Knowledge of Ad Tech, Google Ad Manager and all of it’s fun quirks (so fun)
  • The ability to make your teammates laugh (it wouldn’t hurt if you were fun to work with is what I’m saying)
