Assistant Accountant (12 Month FTC)

nDreams is hiring a Remote Assistant Accountant (12 Month FTC)

We are on the hunt for a Finance superstar to support the next exciting stage of our accounting journey! Reporting into the Financial Accountant but working closely and collaboratively with the whole finance team (and beyond!), this recently refreshed role will be primarily focused on supporting the delivery of our month end reporting requirements, and will take ownership for various accounting activities and processes including payroll.

This position is a 12 month fixed term contract.

You will be joining a diverse team of talented individuals, working together to support the wider nDreams Group and our multiple games studios within.

Key Responsibilities:

·      Support the Financial Accountant with the month-end close process and the delivery of accurate management accounts

·      Support the Financial Controller and Financial Accountant with year-end compliance tasks, including audit and IFRS statutory accounts reviews

·      Preparing the month end payroll changes file and reviewing the monthly payroll files provided by our payroll provider

·      Support the Financial Accountant with the year-end payroll activities, such as P11D, PSA, P60s

·      Act as a Finance Business Partner for a selection of our Head Office teams

·      Support with the annual budgeting and internal forecasting processes

·      Support the Head of Finance and Financial Controller with ad hoc queries, analysis and process improvement initiatives

Essential capabilities:

·      Part-Qualified Accountant

·      Advanced Excel skills, ideally with exposure to Power Query and various complex formulae

·      Experience using NetSuite or a similar ERP system

·      Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

·      Strong organisation skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise varying deliverables

·      Analytical, with a strong attention to detail and high numerical proficiency

Desired experience:

·         Hands on exposure to the year-end close and statutory audit processes

·         Experience with payroll accounting

·         Experience in FP&A processes

nDreams is hiring a Remote Principal Programmer - Near Light (On-site/Remote within the UK)

About the role

We are looking for a Principal Programmer to lead the code team to develop and maintain game features, systems and tools for innovative VR (virtual reality) games.

You will be a team player who can collaborate cross-discipline in a fun and inclusive environment, sharing ideas and expertise while maintaining a bigger picture of the product.

The Principal Programmer is also accountable for a broad area of development. They are responsible for the architecture and maintenance of significant areas of the codebase. They assist the Technical Director in directing, managing and mentoring the code team.

The rundown:

  • Permanent role.
  • Full-time (37.5 hours per week).
  • Based out of our Brighton or Farnborough offices, or remote.
  • The salary for this role is competitive and dependent on experience.

Key responsibilities:

  • Managing and mentoring a code team, when required, either for a full project or a substantial part of one, depending on the needs of the project.
  • Designing and implementing runtime systems, game features or tools.
  • Debugging and resolving issues with game functionality.
  • Optimising game systems for performant operation on diverse platforms.
  • Rapid prototyping to quickly realise and iterate on game concepts.

About you

The skills you’ll need:

  • Advanced knowledge of C++ including high-performance programming.   
  • 3D maths, algorithms and data structures knowledge. 
  • The ability to plan and create high-level estimates for the code team for an entire project and identify any risks.
  • Communication skills - Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to communicate with technical and non-technical people to help them overcome issues. 
  • Aptitude for providing feedback, noting potential issues, and mentoring junior coders. 
  • Performance-minded development and optimisation skills. 

The nice to haves:

  • Proven experience developing high-quality features for published PC, console or mobile titles.
  • A thorough understanding of Unreal Engine’s C++ extensions, game framework and blueprint scripting. Unity experience is a bonus.
  • Experience working on a multiplayer game and working knowledge of best practices during development.

In this role, you will work regularly with staff from disciplines including Programming, Art, and Design. The Senior Programmer will also be accountable for one or more specialist subdisciplines, applying their knowledge and acting as an expert consultant for that area. Examples include Graphics, UI (user interface) programming, network programming, AI (artificial intelligence) programming, user experience/gameplay programming, etc.

We are looking for a Technical Artist to drive forward cutting-edge visuals, provide technical guidance and define art workflow and pipelines. They will be the bridge between the art and code departments and will work with the teams to further personal development, mentoring and peer critiquing.
