About the Job

We’re looking for an experienced manual Quality Assurance tester to join our engineering development team as part of our quest to build the best learning platform in the world. You will work closely with developers to build and document test plans for new features, then execute those test plans independently in our development, pre-production and production environments.

Our QAs are our final authority in the process of building high quality releases of our learning management system: you have the final technical say in whether a software module is suitable for promotion to the next higher environment.

QAs also work closely with our SDET and Automation engineers to build automations of the tests that the QAs develop to promote consistent regression.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Creates and documents test plans on applications and related technology to verify that the business, technical and functional requirements are being met through the software development lifecycle.
  • Work with developers to ensure the developers are executing test plans and documenting results during the development phase.
  • Conducts end-to-end testing according to the test plan, files bug reports and has the initiative to go “off script” in pursuit of uncovering obscure boundary defects.
  • Executes test plans in an effort to identify defects prior to production.
  • Advise SDET and Automation engineers on the creation of automation for their test plans
  • May also include Production Certification which requires manual/automated scripts be executed to certify production health and/or identify post-production defects

Qualifications

  • Manual Automation testing and thorough knowledge around testing methodologies.
  • Strong web services testing experience.
  • 4+ years of Quality Assurance experience
  •  Hands-on experience in test automation of APIs, webservices and Microservices.
  • Experience working with UI automation tool like Cypress is a plus
  • Proficient in defect tracking/Quality assurance tools such as JIRA.
  • Competent technical skills and good time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and individually.
  • Experience with QA processes and deliverables in an Agile/SCRUM environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively to varying audiences
  • Well-versed with all stages of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC)

Working conditions

This role is a full-time salaried position. Work hours for this position are flexible and will be performed from a home office. Must be located in the Philippines.

As a software test engineer on our Deepfake team, your role will be to act as the team’s subject matter expert in test engineering and contribute to code with a focus on testability. You will review designs and look closely at code quality and risk. You will be responsible for refactoring code to make it more testable and creating  testing frameworks and automation. 

What you’ll do 

  • Partner in ownership of source code and act as a consultant recommending better program structure and coding style
  • Review and refactor existing test code
  • Analyze requirements to determine the testing strategy of different applications and products through automation
  • Participate in product and feature design with developers, usability specialists, user interface designers, and product managers
  • Create, update, review automated test cases to match product feature sets, execute manually as required
  • Participate and contribute to product code reviews
  • Educate team members on current and evolving practices, patterns and process to improve product quality
  • Create tooling around the entire testing workflow, all the way from test case management, test data creation, automatic bug captures, test progress measurement etc.
  • Monitor application performance to ensure efficient and problem-free operations. 
  • Identify application deviance from standards and suggest modifications to ensure compliance. 
  • Develop or specify standards, methods, or procedures to determine product quality or release readiness.

About The Role:

Agero has a vision to automate the roadside assistance industry. This means providing the automotive and insurance industry with a way to enter details about people who have broken down, then automatically determining the best quality and fastest response from thousands of towers and their nationwide fleet of tow trucks all running our towing app.This creates interesting UI/UX challenges - we’re building something that no one else has built and we have three user perspectives on the same data. We work in small teams of 3-5 engineers called “squads” to strategically execute on different areas of the codebase. This creates a small-team feeling while being a part of a larger organization.  We're using React on the Web, and React Native for iOS and Android.

  • Own the front end web code and experience

Responsibilities:

  •  Develop and Maintain automation framework(s) and scripts across multiple projects
  •  Write and Execute test cases and test plans using test management tools

  • Experience testing Web and Mobile applications
  • Experience creating and maintaining automation scripts for web app testing
  • Experience testing APIs (GraphQL preferred), knowledge of related tools such as Postman, JMeter
  • Experience with one or more test management tools such as, Zephyr, TestRail
  • Experience with mobile automation, load and performance testing is a big plus
  • Knowledge of “shift left” paradigm is a big plus

Nice to haves: 

  • Some knowledge/experience of rspec and cypress is a plus

Description du poste

En tant que consultant, vous rejoindrez une équipe dynamique composée d'une vingtaine de professionnels de l'assurance qualité expérimentés.

Votre rôle consistera à collaborer étroitement avec l'équipe Produit, assurant un contrôle continu de leurs développements et apportant votre expertise sur diverses tâches essentielles, notamment:

  • Mettre en place une stratégie de test adaptée au Projet (organisation des tests, gestion des environnements et données de tests, livrables de test, etc.) en s’appuyant sur l’équipe QoD&Testing.
  • Analyser les User Stories et identifier les Tests d’acceptation et les Tests de Non-Régression (TNR).
  • Ecrire les tests sous forme de scénario Gherkin avec l’outil Jira XRAY
  • Exécuter manuellement les tests fonctionnels et ouvrir les anomalies en cas d’échec.
  • Développer les scripts de tests automatiques en s’appuyant sur le Framework mis en place par QoD&Testing (intégré directement dans la chaîne CI/CD).
  • Exécuter les tests automatisés API et IHM et analyser les logs à chaque lancement.
  • Faire des Reportings avec les dashboards standardisés Carrefour pour l’équipe Produit.
  • Participer activement à la communauté Testing (animation de « QA Talks », support technique.

Qualifications

Quels atouts pour rejoindre l’équipe ?

  • Diplômé(e) d’un Bac+5 en école d'ingénieur ou équivalent universitaire avec une spécialisation en informatique.
  • Une expérience souhaitée de plus de 3 ans en « QA » avec une polyvalence sur les « tests manuels » et les « tests automatisés ».
  • Une solide maîtrise des méthodologies et processus de test, incluant la conception de stratégies de test, la rédaction de plans de test, la création de cas de test et la gestion des tests de non-régression (TNR).
  • Une expertise dans les concepts agiles tels que Scrum, la planification des sprints et la gestion du backlog.
  • Une parfaite maîtrise de l'outil de gestion des tests Jira XRAY.
  • Une excellente connaissance du langage Gherkin/Cucumber, utilisé dans le développement piloté par le comportement (Behavior-Driven Development).
  • Une compétence avancée dans les tests API/Webservices, idéalement avec des outils comme Karate DSL, Postman, SoapUI, ou équivalent.
  • Une maîtrise du langage de programmation Java et JavaScript, ainsi que d'au moins un des outils d'automatisation tels que Selenium ou Cypress (une expérience préalable sur au moins l'un de ces outils est obligatoire).
  • Une expérience dans l'utilisation des outils de gestion de dépendances Maven et NPM (node.js).
