XE is seeking a QA Analyst to join our team building exciting products such as our corporate money transfer web application and our mobile app using cutting-edge technologies. Reporting to the Director of Software Engineering, the QA Analyst will be responsible for analyzing and testing project deliverables to ensure quality standards and functionality are aligned with specifications, as well as helping automate tests.

The QA taking on this role must have a passion for manual testing and interest in automation. Backend API tests are fully automated, and the QA Analyst will contribute, keeping them up to date. Still, they will spend most of their time testing the exciting new features their team is adding to Xe products manually.

If you are meticulous with details and work well with interdisciplinary and cross-functional teams, this is the position for you.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in manual testing(Web application)
  • Articulate and explain issues properly
  • Ability to learn how a new system works, and working on it independently
  • Work with internal teams to diagnose and resolve test issues
  • Participate in process reviews to inform the development of products and resolution of defects
  • Design, prioritize, and implement test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures
  • Understand and utilize testing and debugging methodologies
  • Analyze, interpret, and communicate qualitative and quantitative findings from tests
  • Experience with various test levels (smoke, functional, system integration, performance, regression, and user acceptance)

      You’ve got a head for processes and an eye for detail, and you love being the first to test new features in the wild. As a member of komoot’s Quality Assurance team, you'll play a key role in delivering new, bug-free features to our users worldwide. We work in cross-functional squads, so you’ll work with a range of people from product managers and designers to developers and data analysts to test and bring new features into the world. You’ll help shape our quality practices with the rest of the QA team.

      • Perform functional, regression and exploratory tests, both indoors and outside, to ensure an exceptional user experience for komoot’s mobile (Android and iOS) apps and website.
      • Collaborate with product managers and designers in the discovery phase to refine features, review requirements, and write test cases.
      • Support and pair with developers providing test feedback on ongoing projects throughout the development process and raising quality awareness.
      • Keep an overview of bug reports, prioritise them in collaboration with the QA and Customer Support teams, and be an advocate for quality inside your squad.
      • Team up with our QA team to streamline QA processes, enabling exceptional-quality feature delivery in fast development cycles.
      • Take ownership of quality from day one, by taking a continuous improvement approach to enhance the product’s quality.

      Overview

      Arkadium is looking for a motivated and experienced Senior QA Engineer to join our dynamic QA team. In this role, you will have the chance to work on a variety of exciting projects, with a focus on automation. While our primary tools include Cypress and Playwright, you will have the flexibility to explore and integrate other testing frameworks and tools, depending on the unique needs of each project. This could include established solutions or modern technologies, giving you the freedom to innovate and adapt as necessary.

      This position will allow you to contribute to multiple high-impact projects, where you will play a key role in crafting and implementing innovative quality strategies. You will collaborate with diverse teams, combining your automation skills with manual testing to ensure top-tier product quality.

      While this role is remote, candidates must be available to work standard hours from 09:00 to 18:00 in the Western European Time (WET) zone - (Portugal time zone), where most of the Engineering and Product teams are based.

      For candidates not residing in Portugal, you will be onboarded as a full-time contractor through our international payroll provider. 

      Responsibilities

      • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Cypress, Playwright, and/or other frameworks deemed relevant for the task at hand.
      • Perform manual testing (acceptance, functional, integration, regression, and compatibility) as required to ensure the thorough testing of products.
      • Analyze both manual and automated test results, prepare reports and communicating findings to drive continuous improvements in product quality.
      • Identify, document, and track bugs, collaborating closely with development teams to ensure timely resolutions.
      • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement quality strategies tailored to each unique project.
      • Balance manual and automated testing approaches, ensuring the right tools and methods are applied to each project.
      • Contribute to the development of the overall testing framework, helping to explore and integrate new testing tools as project needs evolve.
      • Provide mentorship and support to junior QA team members, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
      • Build and integrate automation tools into the SDLC, optimizing processes across the board.
      • Foster a quality-first mindset within the team, helping shape and implement testing strategies that align with broader project goals.
      • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, OR equivalent experience.
      • 5+ years of experience as a QA Engineer, with strong skills in both manual and automated testing.
      • Strong experience with automated testing tools, such as Cypress, Playwright, Selenium/Appium, Puppeteer, or Robot Framework.
      • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
      • Proficiency in modern web technologies, including HTTP(S), JSON, XML, and RESTful services.
      • Strong experience in cross-browser and cross-device web testing across multiple screen orientations, including mobile.
      • Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions.
      • Proficiency in English.
