As an SEO Analyst at LawnStarter, you will support organic traffic growth initiatives through SEO testing, data analysis, technical optimization, and content strategy implementation. This role combines analytical skills with SEO expertise to help drive our organic search performance.

What you'll do:

  • Own the SEO testing roadmap, architecting and implementing SERP and on-page SEO tests while prioritizing those against conversion rate optimization tests across our websites.
  • Evangelize SEO testing learnings to the broader growth team, updating our best practice documentation as needed. 
  • Assist with various SEO initiatives, including technical SEO initiatives, site audits, keyword research, and content optimization projects.
  • Analyze SEO performance data using tools like Google Analytics, SEMrush, and Google Search Console to identify opportunities and track KPIs.
  • Support the implementation of on-page optimization strategies, including meta descriptions, title tags, and content structure.
  • Closely monitor site health metrics and alerts, investigating issues when needed and reporting any technical issues that may impact SEO performance and need engineering attention. 
  • Collaborate with content and development teams to ensure SEO best practices are followed.
  • Track and report on organic search performance, providing regular updates on key metrics and recommendations.
  • Help maintain SEO documentation and processes as needed.
  • Stay current with SEO trends (AI tools for SEO, for example) and algorithm updates. 

  • 3+ years of experience in SEO or related digital marketing role
  • Experience running traditional SEO tests (title tag, meta description, on-page content, etc.) for high volume websites
  • Experience with conversion rate optimization testing 
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in SEO tools (Google Analytics, Search Console, SEMrush or similar)
  • Basic understanding of HTML and technical SEO principles
  • Experience with keyword research and content optimization
  • Familiarity with mobile optimization and site speed factors
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

We are looking for a candidate with phone experience in sales, who is fluent in both spoken and written English. This is a remote job position with a call center feel, so if you are dependable with an excellent work ethic, and a distraction-free workspace, you can work from the comfort of your own home.

This role begins as a seasonal position (Jan - Sept), but with strong potential to turn into a long-term position based upon performance. We also have an all-inclusive form of training available to get you started, and continuous training updates throughout the season to ensure you have all the tools you need to succeed while handling calls.

Responsibilities:

o Inbound and outbound calls (warm calls).

o In this position, you will be taking around 200 calls a week. Most sales are completed in calls that last 6 to 15 minutes.

o Our hours of operation are 7a-12a CST M-F, and 8a-10p CST Sat-Sun. We offer 8hrs per day for a max of 5 days per week (40hrs) during those hours.

o You will explain who we are (a lawn care services platform), what we do (match lawn care professionals with homeowners), provide job estimates, and successfully book and upsell customers for recurring services.

o You should have an understanding of how to connect with a US based customer and close a sale over the phone. Overcoming objections and upselling skills are a must.

That will probably mean you’ve been doing this stuff for 5+ years.
  • Someone familiarized with CSS architecture including pre/post processors and CSS-in-JS, and best practices around responsive layout, accessibility, and animation. You should have experience working with design systems and designers or within a product design organization.
  • Someone who understands fundamental computer science concepts. That doesn’t necessarily mean you have a CS degree. But you should be able to describe how a pointer works, what Big O notation is and how to use it, when to use composition and when to use inheritance and the differences between an array and a linked list and a set.
  • Someone with a firm grasp of SQL and databases in general (including non-relational databases and modern cloud database solutions). You should know how to do CRUD operations, what indexes are and why they matter, and the difference between a left join and an inner join for instance.

Our tech stack and software development process:

Most of our software is written in PHP (Laravel) and TypeScript (React/React Native). You’ll work with these languages and possibly more as we continue to grow. We’re not worried about checking off boxes for specific languages. As long as you have a background with any mainstream object-oriented language and have great engineering fundamentals, we believe you can get up to speed with any similar language quickly.

Title: Lead Software Engineer

What you’ll do:

As a Lead Software Engineering at LawnStarter, you’ll report to one of our Engineering Managers and be responsible for leading technical initiatives from inception to the hands of our users. You’ll be in a hands-on development and technical lead role collaborating with our cross functional teams to help continue building the leading LawnStarter platform. You will become a key contributor to the codebase willing to work in any area of the code when needed. You’ll also:

  • Find opportunities to broadcast knowledge and lessons learned across delivery teams
