Summary:  The Senior Product Cybersecurity Architect is responsible for implementing software cybersecurity processes in Torc’s Cybersecurity Management System. This encompasses close coordination with the Developer and Operational Tools and Product Engineering and Release organizations to develop software cybersecurity elements of the Torc Safety Case and Torc cybersecurity management system. This role requires a deep understanding of software security principles, a proactive approach to building security in, and the ability to work cross-functionally with various departments to integrate robust security measures into our products from conception through to deployment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive software security processes for internal development, ensuring alignment with industry standards and business objectives
  • Focus on ensuring compliance with best practices and industry standard requirements pertaining to software security activities such as static and dynamic analysis, fuzz testing, code review, and tool management
  • Document and maintain processes, procedures, and training for key software security activities in the cybersecurity management system
  • Create and maintain trainings applicable to software engineers for software security processes
  • Conduct, with a cross-functional team, code reviews, identify potential vulnerabilities and propose mitigation strategies
  • Collaborate with product development teams to embed security into their software development activities
  • Stay abreast of emerging cybersecurity threats and technologies, and continuously update our software security approaches accordingly
  • Liaise with external software security vendors and partners, ensuring the effective integration of third-party security solutions
  • Prepare and present evidence in the Safety Case to demonstrate readiness to launch new products or release new software versions from a software security perspective
  • Train internal stakeholders on software security practices and act as a resource where expert software security assistance is needed

What you'll to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field or work experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 2 years in a role focusing on software security
  • Strong understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorization, and security
  • Strong understanding of software cybersecurity verification and validation techniques such as static analysis, fuzz testing, and software composition analysis
  • Proficient in a secure development lifecycle (SDL) such as the Microsoft SDL, the Autonomous Vehicle Cybersecurity Development Lifecycle, or similar
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex security concepts to a varied audience
  • Proven track record of implementing successful cybersecurity solutions in product development
  • Critical/logical thinking to identify problems and provide solutions to ensure solutions move us towards an efficient, cybersecure self-driving truck
  • May travel occasionally (<20%) to Torc and partner sites
  • Requires continuous technical education and training with a passion for knowledge in the field of study to maintain the highest level of knowledge, ingenuity, and creative thinking
  • Ability to be flexible on short notice and may work extended hours/weekends/evenings when project demands
  • Ability to work and collaborate across locations over different time zones

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review and negotiate procurement agreements (marketing, software, events, etc).

  • Provide legal advice to the sales department on a day-to-day basis.
  • Be a trusted business partner providing timely, thoughtful and helpful responses to requests from internal customers.

EDUCATION/ACCREDITATION 

  • Doctor of Law degree (J.D.)  or LLB, or equivalent. 

 

EXPERIENCE AND SPECIFIC SKILLS

  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant practice experience in corporate legal department and/or law firm, preferably with high-growth or startup technology companies dealing with commercial transactions.
  • Experience of providing legal support to a sales team.
  • Strong experience negotiating complex commercial transactions (buy side and sell side)
  • Demonstrated success in managing multiple transactions in compliance with company policy. 
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a commitment to professionalism and collegiality.
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented with an outstanding work ethic; should be able to independently manage and successfully prioritize numerous projects under deadline pressure.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad variety of legal matters.

The role

Responsibilities

(While existing knowledge of Kotlin is preferred, it is not essential to be considered for this position as long as the candidate is fluent in Java or another full-featured programming language and is willing to invest heavily in learning Kotlin)
  • Leverage design patterns, software engineering principles and best practices to create software components and services
  • Work “in the open” using a public Github repository and issue tracker, and using collaborative communication channels such as Slack
  • Perform peer code reviews
  • Participate in an on-call rotations to respond to and triage production issues as needed

Your Role

We’re looking for a Product Director to join our team, someone who’s passionate about translating the needs of North American club and high school sports organizations into a product vision—then guiding our team to bring it to life.  

As a Product Director, you’ll: 

  • Own the vision. You’ll work with other leaders to set the strategy for our Competitive business unit, then maintain a product vision and roadmap that’s strategically aligned. You’ll also communicate your vision to your team(s), stakeholders and company leadership to ensure understanding and buy-in.
  • Set customer-centric product outcomes. You’ll be the expert in the customers and the products in the Competitive market. You’ll use engagement and usage funnels as indicators of business outcomes (e.g., renewal, new sales, cost reduction). 
  • Be responsible for products. Through the lifecycle of discovery, growth, maturity and sunset, the buck stops with you.
  • Guide discovery. You’ll help your team come up with new ideas, quickly throwing out the bad and ramping up the good.
  • Collaborate.As a partner to the Senior Engineering Director and other product leaders, together you’ll make sure the collective product team on the business unit is healthy, effective and efficient.
  • Be a coach.You’ll manage, grow and inspire a team of Product Managers.

Our priority is to hire someone for this role who lives near our office in Lincoln or Omaha, but we're also open to remote candidates in the U.S. who live in the central or eastern time zones. Must-Haves

  • Product management experience.You have worked in a product management role for at least ten years and have owned multiple different product strategies.

  • People-leadership experience.You have formally lead a team of other product managers and can get buy-in on your ideas without resorting to command-and-control tactics. You’re passionate about servant leadership and our values when it comes to others.

Compensation

In addition, you will have the opportunity to help expand the engineering team and build out architecture and processes as we scale.. This position is fully remote.

Responsibilities:

Technical

  • Perform the month-end close following the firm's month-end closing checklist.
  • Create and analyze management financial reports, including but not limited to:
    • Perform the investment reconciliation
    • Statement of Activities (Income Statement)
    • Statement of Financial Position (Balance Sheet)
    • Cash Flow Forecast & year-end Operating Forecast
    • Budget v. Actual Variance Report
      • Prepare footnotes explaining variances against the budget to provide insight and clarity to the reader.
  • Prepare and present Board packages for client Finance/Audit/Board meetings.
  • Prepare the books for the year-end external audit, including completing the 990-tax questionnaire for the external tax accountants.
  • Ensure the Board of Directors reviews the 990-tax return in accordance with the review process laid out in Schedule O of the tax return.
    • Working with the HR team, maintaining compliance with tax- and benefit-related regulations, and resolving tax/benefit-related issues (e.g., 1099, work comp audit, Form 5500, etc.).
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures in accordance with client's Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Supervise team members.
  • Suggest and embrace technology upgrades and new accounting technology tools to create efficiencies for the client.

Client Advisory

  • Prepare and participate in new engagement start-ups and participate in defining project scope.
  • As a team, deliver financial and management reports to the client's Executive Director (or person we report to) each month.
  • Provide thought leadership to our clients and actively participate in Client Advisory Service (CAS) meetings with the client engagement team.

Role Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree with 4-6 years of experience OR 8 years of experience without a Bachelor’s degree
    • Experience with nonprofit accounting required.
    • Experience with project management and/or client management.
    • Experience with one or more of the following:
      • Working in multiple work environments.  
      • Balancing the needs of several clients. 
      • Working independently as well as collaboratively.   
    • Grant accounting experience preferred.
