Meet the team: 

As an organization at the forefront of autonomous driving, we develop camera-based perception algorithms to further advance the sensing capabilities of autonomous driving by enhancing capabilities such as object detection, Sign Recognition etc. 

What you’ll do:    

  • You develop Computer Vision models in PyTorch and deploy them on embedded platforms 
  • You ensure the technical excellence of the solutions that your team is responsible for delivering and guide the integration of those solutions within the portfolio of Torc’s products  
  • You are a leader within the team for the analysis of requirements and you contribute insights that go beyond the technical implementation details to anticipate potential challenges to delivery and feasibility of the solutions, and you drive decision making for trade-offs that exist in design and implementation  
  • You guide the creation of detailed software architecture design documents for robust, scalable, and long-lived machine learning solutions 
  • You develop and refine your team’s applicable coding standards and processes and ensure that the team’s deliveries adhere to those standards and processes   
  • You collaborate with team members to help integrate their contributions into the larger solution 
  • You provide rigorous feedback to your team members through the code review process to ensure that all contributions meet the team’s standards, and you provide constructive critiques and improvements that contribute to the continuous learning of the team 

What you’ll need to succeed:    

  • Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or engineering equivalent and 3+ years of relevant experience   
  • Subject matter expert in Computer Vision and an advanced individual contributor professional   
  • Exhibiting competency in software development; testing code thoroughly, writing clear, maintainable code, and following the team’s defined software development processes including applicable coding standards and documentation practices  
  • Demonstrating high proficiency in machine learning development, data analysis, and data preparation; demonstrating commitment to producing elegant solutions that are thoroughly tested and follow the team’s defined machine learning development processes including applicable coding standards and documentation practices 
  • Working under high-level direction and informing the team’s technical direction 
  • Owning technical troubleshooting and incident recovery response processes including root cause analysis and counter measure implementation for the team components 
  • Providing and actively seeking mentorship opportunities for engineers on the team and contributing technical comments, performance feedback, and input to goals 
  • Proficient in Python, C++ 
  • Experience Working with PyTorch, TensorRT and OpenCV

Meet The Team:

We are seeking an experienced full stack engineer to support the design and implementation of what we call Customer Tooling, the trusted connection between autonomy and humans. As a full stack engineer, you will be responsible for working closely with our customers, partners, and fleet operations team to drive the technical solutions that connect the self-driving truck to the larger transportation and logistics ecosystem.

What you’ll do:  

We collaborate frequently in many different forms including daily stand-ups, planning meetings, and many ad-hoc discussions/brainstorming/troubleshooting/pairing sessions over zoom or slack. Our team is operationally responsible for the services we own, so we do have an on-call rotation in place where each member will take a turn serving as the front-line to incidents for our services. Rotations last a week each, during business hours. We value maintaining a healthy work/life balance and prefer sustainable development over heroic efforts.

Duties: Implement and maintain in cloud-based data management solutions at petabyte scale. Responsible for working closely with Autonomy engineers to drive the technical road map of AWS-native ETL and storage solutions that power data driven analytics, simulation, and training across the enterprise. Create robust and resilient ETL pipelines to process massive daily volumes of data created by vehicle fleets. Scale Torc’s data lake through a distributed storage system, data crawling and discovery.   • Strategic Planning and Execution: From Planning to Execution, responsible for strategic planning through a decentralized team of leaders across a matrixed environment. This includes (i) spearheading and/or aligning the strategic vision across all fronts of the business (ii) maintaining oversight of departmental strategic plans and ensuring alignment with the overall corporate roadmap (iii) establishing reviews of key strategic priorities and translating them into actionable and quantitative plans. Summary:

The Test & Release and Forensics Program Manager is responsible for driving test and release activities, as well as managing bugs and issues across Torc Robotics. This role requires collaboration across multiple departments to ensure the successful delivery of safe and reliable operating systems. The Program Manager will define and execute test & release mechanisms, while also establishing and driving bug and issue management processes that enable rapid resolution of problems. The role demands a high level of stakeholder engagement across all disciplines and levels of the organization, including regular communication with senior leaders up to the C-suite.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead cross-functional teams to define and execute test & release strategies, ensuring alignment with engineering, regulatory, operations, and safety objectives.
  • Develop and implement a robust bug and issue management framework that prioritizes swift problem resolution and clear communication across divisions.
  • Scope complex initiatives related to test, release, and forensics, ensuring all cross-functional dependencies and risks are identified and managed effectively.

Summary:

The Staff Supplier Program Manager is responsible for developing and leading the relationship between Torc and key suppliers. The Middleware team creates a powerful framework which allows to move the virtual driver data across multiple ECUs. Therefore, they act as the glue between the vehicle hardware and the autonomous driver software. This covers Ethernet based low bandwidth applications as well as PCIe based high bandwidth applications.
 
What you’ll do:
Responsible for software development, including but not limited to, software design, algorithm development, implementation, unit testing, vehicle testing and deployed software maintenance while following quality, build, deploy and test processes, safety and process requirements and guidelines. Includes both Autonomous and Perception Engineers.
  • Responsible for executing full software development lifecycle activities using primarily C++ skills in Linux development environment using Lean-Agile methodologies.
  • Assist in root cause analysis of issues found in testing and process automation steps.
  • Support team in identifying daily assignments and reporting progress at daily stand ups.
  • Support software and system level test plans and verification strategies to support ongoing feature development and bug fixes.
  • Designing and implementing systems responsible for data acquisition and analysis from remote vehicles in the field.
  • Responsible for ensuring software updates do not regress the software performance by utilizing simulation software and scenarios.
  • Communicate well in a team environment being able to clearly articulate progress, design expectations and support needed to help the team accomplish goals.

Summary:

Summary:  The Senior Product Cybersecurity Architect is responsible for implementing software cybersecurity processes in Torc’s Cybersecurity Management System. This encompasses close coordination with the Developer and Operational Tools and Product Engineering and Release organizations to develop software cybersecurity elements of the Torc Safety Case and Torc cybersecurity management system. This role requires a deep understanding of software security principles, a proactive approach to building security in, and the ability to work cross-functionally with various departments to integrate robust security measures into our products from conception through to deployment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive software security processes for internal development, ensuring alignment with industry standards and business objectives
  • Focus on ensuring compliance with best practices and industry standard requirements pertaining to software security activities such as static and dynamic analysis, fuzz testing, code review, and tool management
  • Document and maintain processes, procedures, and training for key software security activities in the cybersecurity management system
  • Create and maintain trainings applicable to software engineers for software security processes
  • Conduct, with a cross-functional team, code reviews, identify potential vulnerabilities and propose mitigation strategies
  • Collaborate with product development teams to embed security into their software development activities
  • Stay abreast of emerging cybersecurity threats and technologies, and continuously update our software security approaches accordingly
  • Liaise with external software security vendors and partners, ensuring the effective integration of third-party security solutions
  • Prepare and present evidence in the Safety Case to demonstrate readiness to launch new products or release new software versions from a software security perspective
  • Train internal stakeholders on software security practices and act as a resource where expert software security assistance is needed

What you'll to succeed:

  • Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field or work experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 2 years in a role focusing on software security
  • Strong understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorization, and security
  • Strong understanding of software cybersecurity verification and validation techniques such as static analysis, fuzz testing, and software composition analysis
  • Proficient in a secure development lifecycle (SDL) such as the Microsoft SDL, the Autonomous Vehicle Cybersecurity Development Lifecycle, or similar
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex security concepts to a varied audience
  • Proven track record of implementing successful cybersecurity solutions in product development
  • Critical/logical thinking to identify problems and provide solutions to ensure solutions move us towards an efficient, cybersecure self-driving truck
  • May travel occasionally (<20%) to Torc and partner sites
  • Requires continuous technical education and training with a passion for knowledge in the field of study to maintain the highest level of knowledge, ingenuity, and creative thinking
  • Ability to be flexible on short notice and may work extended hours/weekends/evenings when project demands
  • Ability to work and collaborate across locations over different time zones
