Quality Engineer

At Acquia, quality engineering drives the quality tool chain and process in an open and collaborative environment. To ensure that we have a repeatable process and systems to thoroughly test and uncover defects, quality engineering uses best of breed tools for automation and testing frameworks in conjunction with in-house tooling, infrastructure and services.  Quality engineers are embedded in each agile development team to facilitate and own the testing strategy, and test automation requirements for every iteration and release. The quality engineering team also regularly meets to review and improve overall testing processes, automation, innovations and standard methodologies. Each quality engineer works both independently and as part of a product group, where developers write tests and the quality engineering team supports the testing infrastructure and automation. In addition, they provide mentorship for best practices and develop testing systems for smoke testing, behavioral testing, stress testing, performance testing, as well as supporting quality metrics.  

The Quality Engineer is a strong voice for quality that actively pursues quality improvements, writing code, developing new infrastructure and tests to support our fast paced, highly diversified development organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Work together with product managers, agile product owners, architects, tech leads and engineers to ensure the quality of our products
  • Participate in technical discussions for products and test infrastructure
  • Implement Quality best practices, tools, and methodologies
  • Identify areas for improved testing efficiencies, test automation and implementation of automated test solutions
  • Constantly evaluate the test automation strategy and approach to identify areas of improvement (i.e. test automation frameworks, coding standards, etc.)
  • Participate with developers in writing prolific test case code using Ruby, PHP, Java, Go, etc
  • Build and maintain efficient test frameworks and pipelines for performance, stress, and integration tests
  • Work in an agile model as part of a team to develop fully automated test cases for functional, unit, and integration testing
  • Take a hands-on approach to implementing QA processes right from requirements analysis, test design, implementation, automation, execution, maintenance and analysis

Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of hands on experience working on QA automation including functional, system, integration and regression testing
  • Experience in developing test automation for Backend applications
  • Proficient with backend API automation, tools/framework development necessary for the same 
  • Strong hands on knowledge about testing concepts and understanding of database concepts, OOPs concepts and strong in core Java skills
  • Strong proven understanding of various test types including client/server, white-box, black-box and positive/negative
  • Proven test design skills, test case writing, automation and analysis
  • 1-3 years programming experience in any of the web languages (go, php, ruby, java) or equivalent
  • Experience with shell to apply command line tools
  • Experience with continuous integration and build tools (i.e. Maven/Gradle, Jenkins, Travis)
  • LAMP (Linux Apache MySQL PHP) or Java & Spring boot stack experience
  • Solid understanding of Kubernetes/docker/containers

Nice to have:

  • Hands on experience with AWS/Azure/GCP/OpenStack
  • Familiarity with open source software
  • Linux OS system management experience
    • Ubuntu, RHEL, Amazon Linux, etc.
  • Operational knowledge of Drupal or any content management system in a production setting

Job Description:

  • Be a Security Champion in an agile Security Engineering team owning and operating the services you build
  • Research, specify, and test cloud hosting architectures leveraging your web, database, and OS knowledge
  • Debug the toughest distributed systems production issues

Job Requirements:

  • 3+ years of related experience in Security Engineering 
  • Cloud security and compliance experience using AWS (e.g., Firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, DDOS prevention and PCI-DSS, HIPAA, FedRAMP, etc.)
  • Strong software development background using any general programming language
  • Understanding of Kubernetes
  • Passion for websites and website delivery architecture
  • Deep, working knowledge of LAMP stack--OS, web server, and database systems (Linux, Apache, and MySQL preferred)
  • Linux packages (e.g., Debian or RPM packages); RHEL and Ubuntu experience

Your primary focus will be:

  • To build, configure and operate Google Cloud Platform (GCP) plus Google Cloud VMware Engine (GCVE), Containers and Kubernetes Clusters (GKE) as code.
  • To Design, build and maintain CICD pipelines, GitFlow, orchestration, etc.
  • To research, evaluate and recommend resources for the CI/CD platform and GCP.

Your additional focus areas will be:

  • Specific Azure DevOps experience is a plus.
  • Team members are expected to grow their expertise in other systems engineer areas to provide support for the entire IT infrastructure landscape through formal training, job shadowing, service transition and documentation.
  • Evaluate, recommend, manage, and operate compute and storage resources on Cloud and CI/CD platforms.

 

Core IT Infrastructure Technology / Engineering Duties:

  • Partner with other infrastructure Team Members to learn, develop and enhance the skills needed to support software-based infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team (2) of Cloud Operations specialists in US
  • Will be tasked with serving as the primary point of technical escalation contact
  • You will be responsible for being the point of contact for any operational escalations within the organisation.
  • Ensure that the Incident management process is running as expected, and that the operations team is handling incidents in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Operations team will be responsible for the Incident management process, so need to ensure the process is running as expected.

  • Monitor alerts and follow their evolution, escalate as needed.

  • Apply security patches to the entire IT infrastructure.
  • Deploy new client projects and infrastructure based on established requirements.

  • Cultivate great co-worker and client relationships.
  • Available to work during weekends based on the team’s rotation schedule. (1 in 3 weekends)

Technical Abilities:

  • Knowledge and experience working with cloud computing - e.g. Azure or AWS or GCP (Required)
  • Networking and firewall expertise - VLANs, Zone based firewalling, IPSec VPN, SSL VPN, URL filtering, IDPS (Required)
  • Proficiency in Windows, Office, and Active Directory is required
  • Infrastructure security experience - Patch and vulnerability management
  • Backup knowledge and experience

Additionally, the program also supports administrative program management support for IT program offices and DLA Information Operations (J6) Office.   The program provides support technology services across the DLA Information Operations Enterprise, the DLA Program Executive Offices (PEO), and all other technology services currently supported through DLA Contracting Services Office (DCSO) acquisitions. 

  

This task willprovide comprehensive engineering and customer support for the entire DLA FSEI toolset.  The toolset consists of the following: the software COTS tool, the Ubuntu Linux operating system (OS), which supports the COTS tool, and the physical and/or virtual appliances that host the OS. 

  

Duties of an Engineering Subject Matter Specialistmay include: 

  

  • Provide technical knowledge and analysis of highly specialized applications and operational environment
  • Provide high-level functional systems analysis, design, integration, documentation, and implementation advice on exceptionally complex problems that necessitate high-level knowledge of the subject matter for effective implementation
  • Participate as needed in all phases of software development with emphasis on the planning, analysis, modeling, simulation, testing, integration, documentation and presentationphases
  • Provide on-site and off-site ForeScout professional services to customersincluding,product deployment, configuration, health checks, optimization,trainingand troubleshooting.

            L’équipe Data Services de Mazars, c’est plus de 60 consultants spécialistes de la data, répartis sur 2 hubs (Paris La Défense, New-York).  Ils couvrent l’ensemble de la chaîne de valeur de la donnée : Data Strategy et qualification de cas d’usage, Gouvernance et qualité des données, Data Visualisation, Data Science, Data Engineering et Data Architecture.

            Nous sommes convaincus que le Data Engineering est la pierre angulaire de cette industrie. Nous mobilisons, pour servir nos clients, une stack technologique riche et variée, tant sur les outils open-sources (Python, Pandas, PySpark, FastAPI, Vim, SQL/NoSQL, ...) que sur les solutions du marché (Snowflake, AWS, Azure, ...).

            Notre équipe de Data Engineers travaille au quotidien avec les membres de Mazars R&D et nos Data Analysts. Pour nos clients, nous produisons des solutions qui intégrent le DevOps (GitLab, Ansible, Docker, Terraform, ...) dès la phase de conception.

            Vous serez formé(e) à nos méthodologies et aurez l’opportunité de travailler au sein d’équipes pluridisciplinaires, y compris les équipes de R&D qui développent et maintiennent nos outils d’Analytics ainsi que notre infrastructure interne (GitLab-CI, VMs OpenNebula, CephFS, etc...).

            Vous interviendrez de façon opérationnelle sur des missions de conseil data ambitieuses et innovantes pour nos clients du CAC40 et SBF120, en France et à l’international.

            Vous participerez notamment à :

            · L’amélioration de la performance opérationnelle de nos clients au travers de l’exploitation et la valorisation de données sur des cas d’usage métier concrets (stratégie, marketing et vente, R&D, finance, RSE, etc..).

            · Le développement de bout en bout de flux de données, de l’extraction / transformation jusqu’à leur consommation (API, BI / Visualisation, ...)

            · Le déploiement et l’intégration continus de pipelines sur plusieurs paradigmes : serverless cloud (AWS Lambdas, Azure Functions, GC Functions, Kubernetes) ou cloud privé (OpenNebula, CloudStack, CephFS)

            Qualifications

            De formation Bac+5 type école d’ingénieur généraliste ou spécialisée, ou d’un 3ème cycle dans un domaine connexe à la data (systèmes d’informations, traitements de données, big data, statistiques, génie logiciel, etc.) :

            Vous avez déjà montré un intérêt pour le domaine du développement applicatif intégrant une composante Data, à travers des stages, cours ou projets personnels impliquant le développement back-end et/ou front-end d’une application.

            Vous avez une expérience pratique et une bonne connaissance de :

            - Un ou plusieurs langages de programmation analytique (Python, R, Haskell, Rust, etc.)

            - Une ou plusieurs couches de persistance (MySQL, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, S3, Node4j)

            Vous n’envisagez pas de travaux sérieux en dehors d’un système Linux (Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS), ou sans système de contrôle de version (Git), et l’utilisation d’une chaîne d’intégration vous parait naturelle

            Vous pensez que l’écosystème tech open-source est un puissant terrain de jeu à la pointe de la technologie, qui met à disposition l’ensemble des outils nécessaires à la réalisation des projets les plus ambitieux.
