About the Role

We are hiring for a 2D art generalist intern to join our content team on a 12 month fixed term contract. As a DevOps Engineer, expect to leverage your knowledge and experience to help us level up our DevOps game. This will be in the form of assisting our Dev teams with infrastructure creation and monitoring/alerting. You will also design and build automation and self-service capabilities to accelerate Dev teams. You’ll work with infrastructure-as-code technologies like Terraform, and monitoring/alerting tools such as New Relic, ELK, Cloudwatch, Grafana and Prometheus. You’ll also help improve our Continuous Integration/Delivery pipeline in Jenkins. 

We share the operations/on-call components of infrastructure and production support within the DevOps team. Expect to participate in an on-call rotation, and take turns handling day-to-day requests from our Dev teams. 

Our stack is Java / Groovy on Grails, Tomcat, Aurora MySQL DB, ElasticSearch, and Redis.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of DevOps/Infrastructure and Systems Administration experience

  • Experience in building and administering Linux systems (Ubuntu, Debian, Amazon Linux, etc.)

Key Responsibilities 

  • As Site Reliability Engineers we are responsible for the availability, performances, monitoring, and incident response of the platform and services running on multiple environments.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Ability to clearly articulate technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences, executives and explain their impact on business both internal and external to the organization
  • Experience with deploying, operationalizing or supporting one or more cloud applications such as Box, Dropbox, Google Drive, Salesforce.com, is desired.

It is important for you to have a very strong background in at least 2 or more of the following areas:

Cloud Computing

  • Strong hands-on experience with one or more of the following Cloud Platforms – AWS, GCP and Azure
  • Strong Knowledge of AWS services and components such as EC2, ELB, VPC, RDS, Route53, S3, Cloud Formation, Cloud Trail, Lambda and IAM etc. In lieu of AWS experience, similar experience with Azure or GCP will be considered
  • One or more of AWS Certification, Azure Certification or Google Cloud Certification strongly preferred

System Administration and Containers

  • Experience deploying and operationalizing Kubernetes, containers, and serverless
  • Hands-on experience with Linux distributions (RHEL, Debian, Alpine, Ubuntu, Centos, etc.)
  • Exposure to DevOps ecosystem: CI, CD tools, orchestration tools, data center automation, open source tools like Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, etc. 

Networking Infrastructure and Security

  • Understanding of Networking concepts and experience with multi-vendor networking devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, traffic generators, etc.
  • Experience with Security Solutions, Remote VPNs, IPSEC, PKI & TLS, TCP/IP, DLP, Authentication Protocols (SAML, LDAP, RADIUS, etc.)
  • Knowledge of general security practices and regulatory compliance requirements(CIS, PCI, NIST, etc)

Automation 

  • Experience with one or more scripting languages like Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, etc.
  • Experience with REST APIs 
  • Ability to read and understand JSON

Job Description

The Linux Platform Engineer - AWS is a hands-on technical position responsible for designing and implementing enhancements, extensions and improvements to our “Platform as a Service” solution in a cloud-computing environment. 

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, automate and deploy cloud platform solutions using AWS
  • CI/CD using Travis/Jenkins scripts
  • Perform technical troubleshooting for AWS cloud environments
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to identify Platform needs and issues
  • Create monitoring and alerting capabilities
  • Implement infrastructure capabilities in an automated cloud world

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of Linux operating systems (Redhat, Amazon Linux, Ubuntu)
  • Experience in scripting languages - Python, Bash (Knowledge of Troposphere and/or Boto3 is beneficial
  • Automating, deploying, and maintaining AWS cloud based production systems, to ensure the availability, performance, scalability, and security of productions systems.
  • Experience with AWS Cloud Infrastructure (ie EC2, cloudformation, ELB/ALB, AWS WAF, Lambda, DynamoDB)
  • CI/CD build experience using either Codepipeline, Codebuild and/or Jenkins
  • Good understanding of web security
  • Knowledge of container solutions (Docker and/or Kubernetes )
  • Strong communication, collaboration and problem solving skills

Who are we? We as Open Telekom Cloud Managed Services provide a service to manage the customer's infrastructure and the software components (OS, application, middleware and database). We provide End-to-End support for our customers. This includes infrastructure level such as Backup, Storage and Security.

We Lift & Shift workloads to the Open Telekom Cloud and providing application operation 24/7 in the cloud and enable the platform service by providing integration features to the existing customer landscape and other T-Systems portfolio elements.

We provide support in the office time and on on-call duty as our services are running 24/7.

About your role in our organization:

You will join to our engineering team that means that you will be assigned to more complex issues, develop the associated low-level designs, and then implement these solutions or delegate to our operation team supervised by our Professional Lead.

Responsibilities and needed skills:
