Your Career

Palo Alto Networks is looking for a talented Platform and Site Reliability Engineer for Cloud Operations and Linux who will be responsible for maintainability, build and configuration of our Linux platform using Infrastructure as Code. As senior technical staff, you will support Tier-3 engineering for Linux build and configuration automation. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a fast-paced environment with highly innovative technologies.

Your Impact

  • Implement and support the Linux infrastructure as code both on cloud and on-prem data centers
  • Provision, configure & support resilient hybrid cloud deployment architecture using the automation framework
  • Manage Linux infrastructure, CI/CD platform, work with other SREs in deploying and maintaining automation framework, capacity planning, create and review operational runbooks
  • Set up critical infrastructure, develop tools and framework to automate operational tasks, deployment of machines, services/apps
  • Manage scalability, capacity planning, redundancy, and resiliency
  • Maintain service availability and performance SLAs based on business and product requirements
  • Contribute to documentation related to design, deployment, validation and operations

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • 8+ Years of system engineering experience on mission-critical, enterprise level systems
  • 8+ Years of Linux systems experience, ideally Ubuntu, SUSE and CentOS, Managing large scale complex applications 
  • Demonstrated Linux/Systems experience in hybrid (cloud, on-prem) environment
  • Must have a strong foundation in Linux operating systems, Troubleshooting, Design and Implementation
  • Experience with Ansible, Chef or similar configuration management tool to manage infrastructure as code

  • Experience using Infrastructure-As-Code to build large scale environments

Job Description

SSENSE is looking for a Senior Site Reliability Developer - Technical Lead to join our rapidly growing technology team. The Senior SRE-TL will join the SRE squad and will be  responsible for keeping all user-facing services and other production systems running smoothly. The Senior SRE -  Technical Lead will be accountable for the reliability, scalability and resilience of complex infrastructure components in terms of quality assurance and production. The ideal candidate will actively contribute to knowledge dissemination within the organization, participate in the recruiting and onboarding of new employees.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Team leadership, knowledge sharing & coaching   - 25%

  • Enforce an effective and efficient scrum process where all team members work in the same direction
  • Guide SRE engineers, when needed, to break down user stories into manageable tasks
  • Propose and drive a development process that emphasizes quality through code reviews, automated testing, continuous integration pipelines and documentation
  • Develop a deep understanding of the team’s roadmap and influence it with fact-based technical arguments
  • Ensure proper documentation of team activities
  • Ensure the demo of features developed are well prepared and presented to stakeholders
  • Review Pull Request, documentation  with the objective to guide and upskill junior developers on various technical/SRE topics
  • Provide fact-based technical feedback on each squad member to managers as part of the evaluation cycle
  • Actively contribute to SSENSE University, the internal peer learning platform, to promote continuous learning

  • Handle emergency response either by being on-call or by reacting to symptoms according to monitoring and escalation when needed

  • Actively seek and identify opportunities and implement them to  improve the availability and performance of the system by applying the learnings from monitoring and observation
  • Identify parts of the system that do not scale, provide immediate palliative measures and drive long term resolution of these incidents.
  • Improve the SSENSE codebase by resolving issues
  • Optimize cloud cost and reduce system resource usage by setting clear requirements through efficiency and capacity planning

Maintain Service Level Objectives (SLO)/ Service Level Indicator (SLI)  - 20%

  • Plan, design and execute solutions within the infrastructure team to reach specific goals agreed upon
  • Share the learnings publicly, either by creating issues that provide context for anyone to understand it or by writing blog posts
  • Proposes ideas and solutions within the infrastructure team to reduce the workload by automation
  • Identify Service Level Indicators (SLIs) that will align the team to meet the availability and latency objectives
  • Perform and run blameless RCAs on incidents and outages aggressively looking for answers that will prevent the incident from ever happening again

Product delivery - 15%

  • Anticipate the technical challenges the squad will face when delivering solutions and propose and implement  technical solutions to those issues

  • A minimum of 8 years experience practicing continuous integration and continuous delivery
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with infrastructure automation frameworks in at least two of these technologies:, Saltstack, Terraform, or Cloud Foundation engine
  • Expertise in infrastructure to support a microservice architecture
  • A minimum of 4 years experience in Infrastructure-as-code specifically with Terraform
  • Strong knowledge of caching technologies (Fastly, Redis) with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Expertise with RDBMS (MySql, Post-gres) and NoSQL (DynamoDB, DocumentDB, Mongo DB) databases at scale
  • Proficiency in Cloud resources (AWS) with the ability to operate them for the components owned, Certification preferred

    Job Description

    SSENSE is looking for a Senior Site Reliability Developer - Technical Lead to join our rapidly growing technology team. The Senior SRE-TL will join the SRE squad and will be  responsible for keeping all user-facing services and other production systems running smoothly. The Senior SRE -  Technical Lead will be accountable for the reliability, scalability and resilience of complex infrastructure components in terms of quality assurance and production. The ideal candidate will actively contribute to knowledge dissemination within the organization, participate in the recruiting and onboarding of new employees.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Team leadership, knowledge sharing & coaching   - 25%

    • Enforce an effective and efficient scrum process where all team members work in the same direction
    • Guide SRE engineers, when needed, to break down user stories into manageable tasks
    • Propose and drive a development process that emphasizes quality through code reviews, automated testing, continuous integration pipelines and documentation
    • Develop a deep understanding of the team’s roadmap and influence it with fact-based technical arguments
    • Ensure proper documentation of team activities
    • Ensure the demo of features developed are well prepared and presented to stakeholders
    • Review Pull Request, documentation  with the objective to guide and upskill junior developers on various technical/SRE topics
    • Provide fact-based technical feedback on each squad member to managers as part of the evaluation cycle
    • Actively contribute to SSENSE University, the internal peer learning platform, to promote continuous learning
    • Participate in the onboarding of new developers 
    • Mentor Junior in all areas and other SREs  in their area of deep knowledge.
    • Set an example for a team of SREs with positive and inclusive leadership and discussion on work
    • Trusted to de-escalate conflicts inside the team

    Production Operations  - 20%

    • Handle emergency response either by being on-call or by reacting to symptoms according to monitoring and escalation when needed
    • Accountable for ensuring & improving documentation on site reliability measures, either in application documentation, or in runbooks, explaining the issues encountered and the solutions implemented
    • Actively seek and identify opportunities and implement them to  improve the availability and performance of the system by applying the learnings from monitoring and observation
    • Identify parts of the system that do not scale, provide immediate palliative measures and drive long term resolution of these incidents.
    • Improve the SSENSE codebase by resolving issues
    • Optimize cloud cost and reduce system resource usage by setting clear requirements through efficiency and capacity planning

    Maintain Service Level Objectives (SLO)/ Service Level Indicator (SLI)  - 20%

    • Plan, design and execute solutions within the infrastructure team to reach specific goals agreed upon
    • Share the learnings publicly, either by creating issues that provide context for anyone to understand it or by writing blog posts
    • Proposes ideas and solutions within the infrastructure team to reduce the workload by automation
    • Identify Service Level Indicators (SLIs) that will align the team to meet the availability and latency objectives
    • Perform and run blameless RCAs on incidents and outages aggressively looking for answers that will prevent the incident from ever happening again

    Product delivery - 15%

    • Anticipate the technical challenges the squad will face when delivering solutions and propose and implement  technical solutions to those issues
    • Write testable, efficient, and reusable code suitable for continuous integration and automated deployments, that respects best practices and SSENSE development standards
    • Raise the bar for professional SRE engineers, lead by example, and help others learn the craft through rigorous code reviews and coaching

    Ownership and accountability - 10%

    • Be accountable for performance, reliability, scalability and resilience of complex and critical infrastructure components (web servers, data stores, hosted services, load balancers, etc.) through the proper use of replication, sharding, load balancing, monitoring, SLAs, alerting, and auto-scaling
    • Be an active participant in the incident escalation chain and prompt resolution
    • Upgrade and patch systems as required while ensuring availability of service
    • Contribute to cross-squad initiatives, acting as a change agent amongst peers to foster adoption of new processes or technical solutions

    Recruiting - 10%                                                                                                    

    • Contribute to the hiring process with application review or being part of the interview team to qualify SRE candidates

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, Master’s degree, an asset
    • Minimum  8 years of experience working as SRE
    • A minimum of 8 years experience administrating Linux based environments (Red Hat, CentOS, Debian or Ubuntu)
    • A minimum of 8 years experience with service-oriented architectures, micro-services.
    • Must have  at least 2 years of working in Agile development life cycle
    • A minimum of 8 years experience practicing continuous integration and continuous delivery
    • Minimum 5 years of experience with infrastructure automation frameworks in at least two of these technologies:, Saltstack, Terraform, or Cloud Foundation engine
    • Expertise in infrastructure to support a microservice architecture
    • A minimum of 4 years experience in Infrastructure-as-code specifically with Terraform
    • Strong knowledge of caching technologies (Fastly, Redis) with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement
    • Expertise with RDBMS (MySql, Post-gres) and NoSQL (DynamoDB, DocumentDB, Mongo DB) databases at scale
    • Proficiency in Cloud resources (AWS) with the ability to operate them for the components owned, Certification preferred
    • Ability to use containers and orchestration frameworks (Kubernetes, Docker, Container registries etc.)
    • Proficiency in Git
    • Must have at least 4 years of  experience  with Kubernetes. Nice to have Amazon EKS, ECS experience

      • Storage – The position will be responsible for supporting enterprise data storage. This will include maintenance, security, and administration. Experienced with operating systems and Storage Area Networks (SAN) and backup solutions. Performs system backups and recovery.

      Basic Requirements:

      Job Description

      The IT Helpdesk Specialist role is responsible for providing day-to-day helpdesk support including all Level 1 escalations, problems & requests for our Cineplex ecosystem.

      What You Will Be Doing:

      • Provides first level IT Support for Hardware & Software issues across all Cineplex LOB’s.  Utilizes Helpdesk application to triage and manage all inbound incidents – prioritizing and assessing urgency to incidents as necessary; personally, resolving issues that can be handled by Level 1 staff and handling escalated, more complex issues from other staff as required. 

      • Field incoming help requests from end-users via multi-channel environment (Phone, IM, Email, etc.) in a courteous manner 

      • Identify, diagnose, and resolve level one & two problems for users of the software and hardware, LAN and WAN, VPN, the Internet and new computer/Exhibition/LBE technology; communicate solutions to end-users 

      • Proactively monitor and support components of the Cineplex Systems Infrastructure. 

      • Performs break/fix hardware support as required 

      Qualifications

      What You Will Need:

      • Experience with MS Vista POS Software or general retail POS systems would be a significant asset 

      • 1-3 years of IT related Help Desk Support 

      • Customer service experience demonstrating application functionality 

      • Demonstrated work experience in a Desktop Support capacity is expected 

      • Strong experience with MS Office support is expected 

      • Experience with Windows and MAC is expected 

      • Experience with Ubuntu Linux is an advantage 

      • A degree in a relevant area of study with a preference for Computer Science/Information Technology together with demonstrated operational systems and network related experience.

      • Provision, configure & support resilient hybrid cloud deployment architecture using the automation framework

      • Manage Linux infrastructure, CI/CD platform, work with other SREs in deploying and maintaining automation framework, capacity planning, create and review operational runbooks

      Qualifications

      Your Experience

      • 8+ Years of system engineering experience on mission-critical, enterprise level systems

      • 8+ Years of Linux systems experience, ideally Ubuntu, SUSE and CentOS, Managing large scale complex applications 

      • Demonstrated Linux/Systems experience in hybrid (cloud, on-prem) environment

      • Must have a strong foundation in Linux operating systems, Troubleshooting, Design and Implementation

      • Experience with Ansible, Chef or similar configuration management tool to manage infrastructure as code

      • Experience working with cloud environments, primarily Google Cloud Platform

      • Experience using Infrastructure-As-Code to build large scale environments 

      • Experience with Linux vulnerability management process and patching

      • Must have programming knowledge in Python/Bash/Perl/Go languages to automate infrastructure workflow

      • Understanding of software development methodologies and practices, including agile development, continuous integration and continuous delivery

      • Understanding of Network Firewalls, load balancers, and complex network designs 

      • Experience in monitoring technologies like Datadog, Nagios, Graphite, Cacti, Grafana

      • Understanding Kubernetes, container lifecycle and troubleshooting

      • Hands-on knowledge of high-availability approaches such as load balancing, failover, clustering and disaster recovery

      Locus Robotics is seeking a Technical Support Engineer with high level commitment of exceptional customer service and business relationships. This customer support role will interact directly with our customers and work cross-functionally with our US and EMEA triage teams to resolve complex robotics software/hardware and network technical issues.

      The Technical Support Engineer ensures outstanding customer experiences through expertise problem solving, elevated response time, follow-up, and thorough communications.    This key position is part of Locus’s commitment to high levels of customer success.

      This is a full time salaried role and you must be able to work Monday through Friday (7:00 – 15:00 BST) with the option to include on-call and weekend (Saturday /Sunday ) rotations as needed.

      Responsibilities:

      • Provide high level of remote technical support to Locus Robotics EMEA based customers and field service staff who are diagnosing, troubleshooting, and/or repairing complex equipment, sophisticated systems (hardware, software and/or applications)
      • Troubleshoot navigation errors and root cause investigations.
      • Analyze hardware logs to identify replacement parts.
      • Collaborate with Robot Engineering team for software development, deployment, and field QA testing.
      • Assist in automated tool development for continuous customer support.
      • Manage SLAM map creation, analysis, and continuous improvement.
      • Collaborate with Robotics software, hardware, IT, and customer support teams on product solution optimization.
      • Actively and continuously update technical skills.

       

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Robotics (or a related discipline), or equivalent professional experience.
      • 2+ years of direct in technical customer support /field service-based environment
      • Ability to work across multiple EMEA time zones
      • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
      • Experience with ROS, Python and/or C++ programming skills
      • 1+ years’ experience with Linux operating systems or Ubuntu
      • Ability to communicate technical/complex information both verbally and in writing.
      • Perform multiple tasks concurrently and respond to emergency situations effectively.
      • Excellent English written and verbal communication with strong listening skills with additional language skills
