We’re looking for a Junior Analytics Engineer to join our Data Engineering & Analytics team.

The team is at the center of Egnyte’s data infrastructure and provides the business with data in multiple different forms. The Analytics Engineering sub-team keeps its prime focus on the dataitself butdoes so while employing software engineering standards and best practices to maintain a high quality of delivered solutions.

You will help us model Egnyte’s data into our Semantic Layer, redistribute the data via reverse ETL processes, maintain our data at a high quality and provide technical guidance to analysts and business users. As a Junior within the team, you will have the opportunity to learn modern Data Modelling tools,processesand best practices, all while having the support of other talented individuals within the team.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Designing, building and validating data transformation pipelines, in order to create datamodels
  • Developing and curating the logic behind reverse ETL processes
  • Collaborating with analysts to define data needs and provide use-casesolutions
  • Documenting our data models,logicand the raw data itself
  • Performing internal code & data reviews
  • Monitoring for and solving data qualityissues
  • Providing ad-hoc data

 

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Have good knowledge of SQL, both Data Definition and Data Manipulation
  • Basic experience with cloud or on-prem databases
  • Are aware of different data modeling techniques (Kimball,Inmon) and their modernuses
  • Possess strong analytical skills with an attention todetails
  • Have good verbal and written Englishskills
  • Possess good communication skills and a team player attitude, in order to effectively communicate with team members and businessstakeholders

About the position:

The Engineering Manager will help support, lead, and develop the software engineering and technology that powers all of our programs across all of BlueLabs. Your team will work to ensure all data,  applications, and resources are available and accessible. Working collaboratively with team members, you will also strategize, develop, and implement efficient and secure structures which support our client work. 


In this position you will:

  • Manage a 5-person Engineering team with a wide variety of skill sets and responsibilities
  • Conduct regular code reviews in a variety of languages, including python, c# and typescript. 
  • Regularly contribute, in a hands-on manner, writing code and reviewing code written by members of the Engineering team
  • Manage and drive procurement for third-party products that the Engineering team depends on
  • Lead and monitor the successful development and delivery of team projects and operations 
  • Continuously develop cross-functional relationships with product, engineering, and key stakeholders across teams and domains
  • Mentor and manage engineers from entry-level to senior, and coach and guide direct reports through their career development
  • Articulate desired outcomes and empower engineers to develop simple solutions to sophisticated problems
  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders such as Data Scientists, Product Managers, Software Engineers, and business leaders to understand data needs and deliver on those needs
  • Partner with the VP of Engineering to help determine Engineering team strategy and tackle team-specific or process inefficiencies
  • Communicate technical decisions to the right people, resolve blocking issues, and collaborate with other leaders across the organization
  • Evaluate and implement new and emerging technology solutions and methodologies to improve and accelerate the Engineering ecosystem 


Who You Are:

  • 5+ years experience in software development; proven success contributing to code bases, including Python, C#, Typescript, or similar interpreted programming language
  • A minimum of 2+ years experience leading a team of Engineers with a proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop a growing team; proven track record of steering regular one-on-one meetings with direct reports and tailoring their rhythm and content to the needs of the individual
  • Deep technical knowledge and experience working in a data-focused organization or a passion for data and analytics
  • Experience in AWS or other cloud provider infrastructure including account management, user management, role-based permissions, and infrastructure as code
  • A bias for action and a passion for solving problems, often in a changing environment, and the flexibility to adopt new technologies when the time is right
  • Familiarity with data-focused tooling at any part of the stack, including Airflow, cloud data warehouses, analytical/BI tooling, and data science tooling 
  • Demonstrated proficiency with software engineering methodologies and a disciplined approach to testing and driving reductions in technical debt while ensuring that documentation is prioritized
  • Ability to strike a balance between providing tactical, hands-on support with analyzing processes and systems for future optimization
  • Experience running Agile or similar project management ceremonies, including efficient daily standups, iteration planning meetings, and retrospectives; ability to convert long-term projects into manageable tickets for engineers with the help of senior staff
  • Familiarity with web development at whichever part of the stack and the tools used to serve web applications, including Docker containerization, Kubernetes, and Helm
  • A collaborative, curious, and inclusive approach to work and a deep respect for  colleagues
  • Experience with Git and version control, specifically in GitHub
  • Demonstrated understanding of CI/CD pipelines, why they’re important, and tools like CircleCI, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins

The Ripple & Data fellow will support the development team of our product and Data teams.


Ripple is a business-to-business technology product that helps our clients identify, engage, and measure impact on influencers who matter to their causes or brands. You will join a small and growing team of data, engineering, and product professionals to help us solve some exciting and challenging problems and to deploy the next generation of Ripple. 


Our Data Department is all about creating efficiency in the analytical process. The team helps ensure data pipelines are up and running, breaks down data silos to ensure we aren’t duplicating acquisition efforts, and creates documentation to help the Insights team better understand the data they are working with. The Data Department is also the go-to for analyzing the value of new data for acquisition and exploring how to better utilize our internal data.


About The Role:

Fellows will be provided a chance to work directly with data scientists, strategists, analysts, and client leads on meaningful, hands-on work, while being guided and supported by their manager. Fellows will also be expected to complete a capstone project as part of their program with BlueLabs.

The Ripple & Data Fellow will learn about building digital products such as Ripple, scaling teams, and collaborating with different departments to create actionable steps forward. They will gain exposure to all parts of product and project development – from ideation to analysis and implementation. With the Data Department, the fellow will learn about tracking internal and client project lifecycles, improving documentation on our data models and long-term priorities, and assisting in the acquisition and ingestion of new data sets.


The Ripple & Data Fellow reports to the Ripple Product Manager. 


The Ripple & Data Fellow will work with BlueLabs for 12 weeks at 40 hours per week, from June 5, 2023 - August 25, 2023.


In this position you will:

  • Conduct in-depth product specific research and analysis to improve our Ripple influencer tool and build internal product competency
  • Work with Engineering and Data Science team members to translate business requests into actionable technical requirements
  • Assist in prioritizing feature development recommendations based on customer and internal end-user feedback
  • Assist with routine and new data acquisition and processing tasks
  • Help maintain data processes using tools like dbt, airflow, astronomer, others

The BlueLabs Insights practice works with non-profit, political, and private sector clients to provide them with high quality analysis to better understand the environment they operate in and inform future decision making.

 

About the role:

As a Reporting Analyst, you will help the Insights team create and maintain business intelligence reports. You should have an eye for design that creates engaging interactive dashboards for users. Additionally, the Reporting Analyst should have knowledge of how to take raw data and transform it into effective base tables containing KPIs to be used in reports. You would be a relied upon expert for internal teams on all things reporting and would engage with other team members on reporting best practices, report troubleshooting, and general training on report development. The Reporting Analyst reports to the Director, Data.

 

In this position you will:

  • Develop, maintain, and manage dashboards in Tableau and other BI solutions.
  • Work with cross functional stakeholders, both internal and external to gather requirements for dashboards, and work iteratively with those stakeholders to ensure BI solutions met their needs
  • Build and automate data pipelines used in reporting using SQL
  • Advise and train others internally on best practices when building dashboards and dashboard pipelines
  • Provide technical expertise in areas of report architecture, design, and implementation
  • Create documentation for BI dashboards and pipelines detailing data sources, KPI calculations, and dashboard elements and functions
  • Hold trainings for dashboard users on basic functionality, information covered, and limitations of dashboards
  • Create and implement processes to ensure data accuracy and accuracy of report filters, calculated fields, and other functions
  • Optimize reports to improve load times
  • Troubleshoot issues with dashboards with team members
  • Ensure consistency by adhering to a set of software coding and style guides
  • Research trends in the BI and reporting space to ensure that BlueLabs resources are as up to date as needed and teams are aware of new or upcoming data visualization solutions


What we are seeking:

  • At least 2 years of experience developing business intelligence dashboards using Tableau.  This experience should include requirements gathering, design, and final dashboard implementation
  • At least 2 years of experience using SQL to analyze data and create datasets to be used in dashboard development
  • Ability to synthesize complex business requirements to technical specifications into visualizations that provide insightful analysis
  • Experience creating documentation about dashboards including written documents and live training sessions
  • Familiarity with Tableau server monitoring and administration
  • Experience effectively troubleshooting issues with dashboards and implementing solutions to fix issue or improve performance
  • Experience working with geospatial data

About the role:

You will play a critical role in supporting a digital marketing solution for several high-profile websites run by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The Data Ingestion Pipeline Developer will work with a team to produce dynamic, personalized email and SMS campaigns to deliver information relevant to each customer. You should have experience working in a cross-functional team of partners in which you were responsible for driving ____.


In this position you will:

  • Work closely with a team of  ingestion/application integration engineers (or ‘pipeline developers’?) with responsibility for the architecture, deployment, and operations of the infrastructure used by wider team

About the role:

As a Data Engineer I, you will help the Data Department and Insights project teams establish and maintain data pipelines for internal data sources and data sources related to our client engagements. The Data Engineer I is critical to our client work which requires proactive and continuous improvement as well as  prompt responsiveness to changing circumstances – particularly in handling data quality issues and adjusting the team’s end-to-end pipeline deployments. Your track record stepping into this role should reflect domain knowledge in data ingestion and transformation, including experience adapting to changing technologies and/or client priorities.  The Data Engineer reports to the Director, Data.

  • Analyze, establish and maintain data pipelines that regularly deliver transformed data to data warehouses

Responsibilities


The Junior Developer’s primary professional responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Implementing and maintaining Landing Zone for new and returning customers
  • Creating, troubleshooting, and maintaining data processing pipelines in Apache Airflow (ETL work)
  • Writing SQL queries against many different types of databases (Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres) to extract data
  • Running reports and exports in edTech source systems as well as Landing Zone infrastructure to perform data validation checks and communicate those back to our customers
  • Maintaining Landing Zone documentation to ensure it is always up-to-date and reflects how integrations function.
  • Deploying code updates across the Landing Zone customer base
  • Assisting in the deployment of infrastructure on the Google Cloud Platform for new customers
  • Assisting in the development of a historical/longitudinal data storage system (data warehouse)
  • Responding to customer support tickets (this is a shared responsibility on our team)
  • Working with internal systems such as JIRA, Asana, Slack to stay organized and ensure communication with team members

About the role:

In this position you will join BlueLabs’ engineering team and help us develop and maintain various software products. Employing a balance of tactical problem solving and strategic future-proofing, you will ensure our teams’ and clients’ technology needs are met and advanced. This position reports directly to the Engineering Manager. 


In this position you will:

  • Be the primary point of responsibility for the design of AWS architecture at BlueLabs
  • Design cloud infrastructure that is secure, scalable, and highly available on AWS
  • Work collaboratively with data engineering to define infrastructure and deployment requirements
  • Provision, configure and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure defined as code

About the Project

InnovateEDU strives to create real tooling and projects that greatly assist a school/district/state in moving toward embracing data standards, a data-driven culture, and data interoperability. Landing Zone, a project at InnovateEDU, provides school districts with a comprehensive cloud based data infrastructure through the implementation of an Ed-Fi Operational Data Store (ODS), data mart for analytics in Google BigQuery, and the necessary data workflows in Apache Airflow to connect previously siloed, disparate educational data systems. Landing Zone simplifies the process a district must go through to implement an Ed-Fi ODS, connecting Ed-Fi certified data sources, and consuming non Ed-Fi certified data once it has been aligned to the standard. This project has a heavy focus on data engineering, backend work, dev ops, and using data analytics tools to verify data.

Responsibilities


The Lead Data Engineer’s primary professional responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Managing and supervising a team of engineers and data analysts
  • Establishing a team culture and communication cadence which includes daily standup, code reviews, and ensuring timely customer responses
  • Collaborating with the Customer Success Lead and team to ensure cohesion between engineering and implementation
  • Leading estimates and work scope development for custom engineering work for customers 
  • Mentoring, teaching, and aiding in the professional development of team members
  • Implementing and maintaining Landing Zone for new and returning customers
  • Leading the creation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of data processing pipelines in Apache Airflow (ETL work)
  • Running reports and exports in edTech source systems as well as Landing Zone infrastructure to perform data validation checks and communicate those back to our customers
  • Maintaining Landing Zone documentation to ensure it is always up-to-date and reflective of how integrations function
  • Deploying code updates across the Landing Zone customer base
  • Leading the deployment of infrastructure on the Google Cloud Platform for new customers
  • Leading in the development of a historical/longitudinal data storage system (data warehouse)
  • Responding to customer support tickets (this is a shared responsibility on our team)

What you will be doing?

  • Support, maintain and evolve existing data pipelines utilizingMSSQL, SSIS, Python. 
  • Implement business rule changes and enhancements in existing data pipelines.
  • Automate existing processes.

  • Troubleshoot data issues and defects to determine root cause.
