Job Description:

As a Data Analyst with our Data Services team, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and synchronization of the data we provide to our clients and integrated partners. You will perform detailed triage and root cause analysis for data issues found during file validation processes or for issues reported by customers, internal teams, and integrated partners. Additional responsibilities will include coordinating fixes or improvements to data issues through partnership with engineering, configuration, and customer support/management teams and occasional direct customer contact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Resolve customer and internal escalations in a timely manner
  • Perform prioritization of daily tasks to ensure on time file delivery and timely corrections
  • Execute testing on new product releases for data processing related changes
  • Exercise judgment in escalating issues to management
  • Identify opportunities to improve our processes or technology to achieve increased efficiency and/or quality
  • Process ad hoc test and production files and open enrollment files
  • Proactively notify internal teams if/when files will not meet their agreed upon deadlines
  • Develop relationships with internal Benefitfocus teams
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Education and Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree or equivalent
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience
  • Great verbal and written communication skills
  • Critical thinking and technical aptitude

What we're looking for 
  • Bachelor’s degree, or its international equivalent from an accredited institution, in a clinical, scientific, or health related field
  • 5-8 years clinical monitoring experience, global experience preferred
  • 3-5 years’ experience in applied business intelligence – i.e. reviewing and analyzing data in order to present information in an understandable and usable format
  • 1+ years of experience extracting knowledge and insight from data (data mining) in any scientific or technology field
  • General knowledge of ICH/GCP regulations
  • Basic knowledge of FDA Guidance Documents/EU Directives/ICH GCP/device development, and clinical monitoring procedures

What You’ll Do:

  • Establish semi-automated or automated reporting dashboards for clients, showcasing marketing KPIs and progress to goals across a variety of channels

Responsibilities


The Junior Developer’s primary professional responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Implementing and maintaining Landing Zone for new and returning customers
  • Creating, troubleshooting, and maintaining data processing pipelines in Apache Airflow (ETL work)
  • Writing SQL queries against many different types of databases (Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres) to extract data
  • Running reports and exports in edTech source systems as well as Landing Zone infrastructure to perform data validation checks and communicate those back to our customers
  • Maintaining Landing Zone documentation to ensure it is always up-to-date and reflects how integrations function.
  • Deploying code updates across the Landing Zone customer base
  • Assisting in the deployment of infrastructure on the Google Cloud Platform for new customers
  • Assisting in the development of a historical/longitudinal data storage system (data warehouse)
  • Responding to customer support tickets (this is a shared responsibility on our team)
  • Working with internal systems such as JIRA, Asana, Slack to stay organized and ensure communication with team members

About the Project

InnovateEDU strives to create real tooling and projects that greatly assist a school/district/state in moving toward embracing data standards, a data-driven culture, and data interoperability. Landing Zone, a project at InnovateEDU, provides school districts with a comprehensive cloud-based data infrastructure through the implementation of an Ed-Fi Operational Data Store (ODS), data mart for analytics in Google BigQuery, and the necessary data workflows in Apache Airflow to connect previously siloed, disparate educational data systems. How this role makes a difference:

The Data Analyst is responsible for updating existing and adding new company/contact information to enrich the quality of prospects for our sales teams.

Some examples of what you will have accountability for in this role include:

  • Update account information from several reports
  • Manage Verification Mailings Inbox: Monitor & organize incoming e-mails; Update account information via verification and welcome mailings; Research, de-dupe, move projects & contacts for verifications under review
  • Collect, update and validate account information via input from prospects and users to include creating new and/or updating company information in CRIS via website lead forms and assigning corresponding LTC code
  • Process Special Projects to include Dodge Salesforce accounts and vendor lists
  • Ensure data integrity through quality assurance practices
  • Identify areas of improvement in data collection processes and make recommendations to correct deficiencies

Job Overview:

Beam is seeking an experienced Data Analyst II who is passionate about enhancing financial stability and social mobility for Americans.

The data team at Beam is small but mighty. We are seeking an experienced data analyst who wants to add value across multiple teams, including but not limited to Operations, Product, Design, Reporting products, and Data Infrastructure. The ideal candidate for this role has worked with similar organizations in a data function and has technical expertise applying SQL and Python and/or R to analytics and data problems. They should have experience with building data products (e.g. dashboards) from start to finish, including requirements gathering, pipeline design, prototyping and automation. At Beam, we value stewardship and solutions, so this candidate should have a strong sense of ownership and independence.

We are building a robust data analytics suite on an AWS toolset. Tools we use include RDS, S3, Glue, and Redshift. We are building our data viz out in Glean and we work with Heap for product analytics. Familiarity with these or similar tools is preferred.

Ideal Start Date:January 2023


What you might do:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for reporting requests from our partners
  • Design and develop scalable data models where highly complex data relationships exist
  • Architect and maintain highly automated and scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines
  • Provision, optimize, and maintain data feeds to external systems
  • Create visualization and reporting as needed
  • Creating well-written technical documentation
  • Design new functionality in our existing components for the team to leverage
  • Evangelize best practices around data and team processes

  • Be a quick learner, self-starting, and have the ability to maintain and build within a horizontal and vertical scaling data system
  • Experience with cloud data environments
  • Experience building data visualizations in dashboarding software
  • Experience working in government technology or the social impact space is not required but is a plus
  • Experience with statistical analysis, including A/B testing, regression, and contingency analysis methods is not required but is a plus

Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range for this position has been benchmarked in relation to the scope of the role, market rate, company stage, and internal equity. The salary for this role will be between $90,000 - $110,000. Where a candidate falls within the band is determined by skillset, experience level, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role will come with a total compensation package that includes equity shares and competitive benefits. Some of our benefits include:
