Classy is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Solutions Engineer! In this role, you’ll be serving as a product expert and technical resource for Classy’s most strategic and complex potential and current nonprofit customers. You’ll work hand-in-hand with your account executive counterparts to support in conducting bespoke product demonstrations and strategically solution for problems facing some of the world’s most forward thinking causes. 

Additionally, Solutions Engineers serve as the bridge between our customer-facing and product teams, contributing cross-departmentally to the feedback collection, internal dialogue, and consequent improvement of our product and services.

The ideal candidate is someone who has is adept at product and technology storytelling, has a strong proficiency in solving technical problems, and is constantly looking for ways to expand their knowledge of the nonprofit sector and tech stack.

The Job…

  • Develop a deep understanding of Classy's platform, features, and capabilities.
  • Effectively translate customer needs into innovative solutions using the Classy platform and our technology partners
  • Partner with Account Executives and Account Managers as well as product team members to support sales activities.
  • Participate in all aspects of the sales evaluation process to provide expertise in addressing challenges and providing technical solutions. 
  • Be a strategic owner in technical presentations and demonstrations: conduct engaging and impactful presentations that showcase the platform's features and benefits in an effort to effectively address customer requirements.
  • Act as a liaison between nonprofits and the product team, facilitating effective communication and feedback. Provide valuable insights to inform the product roadmap, advise on feature enhancements, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and standard methodologies in the nonprofit tech space. Share knowledge and insights with the team to enhance their skills and capabilities.

You… 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in solutions engineering, sales engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Strong technical skills and understanding of SaaS platforms and APIs, most notably the Salesforce ecosystem and other nonprofit tech software and integrations. 
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven track record of collaborating effectively with cross-functional team and forming relationships with customers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a strategic approach.
  • Ability to travel occasionally as needed to meet with clients or attend industry events.

Preferred…

  • Experience in the nonprofit or fundraising industry 
  • Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising platforms, CRM systems, marketing analytics and e-commerce technologies.
  • Background in API and web development, with deep familiarity with REST APIs, webhooks, Wordpress, Drupal, and/or Shopify

The expected salary range for this full-time position is $121,500 - $164,500,  which may include potential sales incentive payments, + equity + benefits. As this is a remote position, the salary range was determined by role, level, and possible location across the US. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Job Description 

Acquia’s Customer Value Manager (CVM) is responsible for developing long-term relationships and driving customer-impacting value with a portfolio of Customer Data Platform customers, connecting with key business executives and stakeholders, and developing an understanding of their business requirements and goals. The CVM will be accountable to customer retention and loyalty and will also serve as an escalation point when needed to facilitate the resolution of  issues, connecting customers with the right resources for assistance and working with our technical support and services teams to provide the appropriate business and technical context to ensure resolution.

You will be responsible for timely and effective communication to ensure customer expectations are met. You will demonstrate a high level of knowledge of Acquia’s Customer Data Platform solution and master of use case knowledge to help your customers realize the most value from their investment. You demonstrate a high level of professionalism in every interaction in a fast-paced environment while working closely across several key stakeholders in project management and product and ensuring best practices are adhered to throughout the organization. Candidates must be energetic, motivated and self-driven and have relevant marketing experience. Responsibilities

  • Own a client portfolio of Enterprise and/or Mid-market customers for which you are responsible for customer value, customer satisfaction, revenue growth, and retention
  • Build and manage customer relationships at all levels
  • Develop a trusted advisor relationship with key stakeholders and executive sponsors such that all activities are closely aligned with the customer's business case and business strategies, allowing the full potential of our solution to be realized
  • Maintain an accurate set of reports and value delivered metrics to ensure there is a clear understanding of where each customer is on their path to value realization
  • Provide ongoing strategic recommendations on how to maximize ROI through the use of Acquia Solutions & Services - deliver value creating recommendations so customers can grow their businesses through predictive analytics
  • Leverage comprehensive understanding of the Acquia CDP solution to provide relevant training to drive adoption and provide strategic recommendations to help customers achieve ROI
  • Onboard your customers by understanding their processes, goals, success metrics and defining and executing their enablement plan
  • Monitor and identify trends in adoption and feature utilization to provide guidance to customers as part of ongoing account reviews
  • Learn latest trends and best practices of the CDP market
  • Conduct onsite customer meetings; prepare and deliver quarterly business reviews in collaboration with account managers and delivery teams with focus on product roadmap discussions and recommendations to align our platform to the customer’s business case and marketing strategies
  • Partner with Acquia Account Manager (AM) to secure and execute customer renewals, upgrades and upsells; drive retention and revenue growth
  • Support AM and Account Executive in identifying growth opportunities that align to customers' digital priorities through their day to day knowledge of goals and business outcomes. 
  • Monitor customer health, identify risk, develop success plans, and deliver recommendations
  • Work with Acquia Marketing team to identify customer case studies and PR opportunities
  • Collaborate across Sales, Professional Services, Product, Support and Marketing to maximize overall customer experience
  • Represent a knowledgeable and professional image of Acquia with all customers
  • The CVM role is structured as a sales position with Commission eligibility based on quarterly account retention targets and OKR attainment

  • Experience presenting to C-level contacts
  • Experience with various types of related marketing technology such as SEO, CRM, Marketing Automation, Google Analytics, social media platforms, ESP
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other cloud-based applications
  • Ability to travel 10% of time

Preferred

  • Marketing background with experience in strategy and execution of marketing campaigns

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Software Engineer.

We are based in Balcombe [40 mins from London by train, 20 minutes from Brighton] and we will welcome you to work in an hybrid model, coming to the office or remote.

You will report directly to the CTO.

Candidate Overview

As a part of the Technology Team, your core responsibility will be to develop, maintain and scale our backend services to power the e-commerce and sales infrastructure.  This is a high impact role, where you will be driving initiatives in developing technical solutions, creating serverless data pipelines, API integrations and cloud infrastructure components.

You will be working with frontend developers, data engineers, and data scientists as a team.

Responsibilities 

  • Execute full software development life cycle, with a DevOps practice adopting CI/CD
  • Write well-designed, testable code. We currently use NodeJs, TypeScript, Python, and looking to use Golang for new backend services.
  • Integrate software components into a fully functional software system
  • Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systems
  • Deploy programs and evaluate user feedback
  • Comply with project plans and industry standards
  • Ensure software is updated with latest features

Qualifications

Key Skills and Requirements

  • 5+ previous work experience as a Software Engineer or Software Developer
  • Experience designing interactive applications
  • Ability to develop software in Java, Go, Python, TypeScript, or other programming languages
  • Excellent knowledge of relational databases, SQL
  • Experience developing web applications using at least one popular web framework (JSF, Wicket, Vaadin, Spring MVC, ExpressJs, Drupal)
  • Experience with test-driven development
  • Proficiency in software engineering tools
  • Ability to document requirements and specifications
  • BSc degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field

About the Team…

Acquia’s Drupal Acceleration Team works on realizing Drupal's project lead and Acquia CTO’s vision of empowering site builders to create ambitious websites and digital experiences with little or no code. We are currently focusing on:

  • Building the new default download of Drupal, codenamed Starshot: A package built on Drupal core, including refined common features from the contributed project ecosystem to create a great user experience out of the box
  • Adding a Next Generation Page Builder to Drupal so that
    • site builders without Drupal experience can easily theme and build their entire website using only their browser
    • content creators can compose content on any part of the page without relying on developers.

We are seeking a front-end engineer, who cares about Drupal, JavaScript, and user experience, to help us with some or all of the above, and with other areas that we venture into in the future.

Our team has some well-known Drupal experts, but you don't have to be one yourself to apply. We can mentor you in any area where we have more expertise, and we look forward to you teaching us in your areas of expertise.

Responsibilities:

  • Advocate for and build community consensus around the best approach to Drupal’s current and future needs. This includes sometimes changing your mind on what you think the best approach is as new information and feedback comes in, and sometimes explaining and defending your recommendations when others disagree.
  • Contribute code and tests to Drupal core and contributed projects—on Drupal.org and elsewhere—in order to accelerate the Drupal community’s progress.
  • Support teammates and community contributors with code reviews, constructive feedback, and brainstorming.
  • Work with teammates, the engineering and product managers, and the CTO to determine priorities and timelines for delivering value to Acquia through Drupal.
  • Respond to escalations that include investigation, planning, communicating, and incidence resolution in your areas of expertise.
  • Analyze upstream dependencies for code quality, requirements and software reliability.

Skills

The ideal candidate should demonstrate aptitude and interest in the following skills. Please bear in mind that this is not a list of requirements.   • 5+ years of experience with JavaScript, some of which includes React
  • 2+ years of experience with any Content Management System like Drupal or Wordpress

  • Willingness to review others' work rigorously, holistically, and constructively, and to have your work reviewed
  • Enthusiasm for mentoring and assisting others
  • A commitment to advocate for high-quality code, architecture, and documentation

Extra Credit

  • Experience with Drupal project issue queues
  • Experience using Drupal to create websites (site building experience is a plus)
  • Additionally, an interest in and aptitude for UI design would be a plus. We can lean on user experience specialists at Acquia and in the Drupal community for design when needed, but it also helps for us to have some design capability directly on our team.
