The Director of Operations (Defense) is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing the daily operations and ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of our portfolio. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with leaders across MetroStar to support initiatives aligned to MetroStar’s strategy map including support for organic and new business growth opportunities

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • An active TS security clearance or higher
  • Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field
  • 10+ years’ experience in operations with at least 5 years in a senior role
  • Experience delivering a full range of IT support services, on large scale programs ($50M+); experience with DAF , CDAO a plus
  • Expertise communicating with and presenting to high-level government stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of business development, capture, and proposal development
  • Demonstrated expertise in process methodologies (Agile, Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)

What you’ll need to succeed:

  • You have the ability to obtain DHS Suitability
  • You have, at a minimum, a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology Management or Engineering, or other comparable degree or experience.
  • You have a minimum of ten (10) years of IT Project Management experience, focusing on agile projects.
  • You have at least two (2) years specialized experience in leading IT DevSecOps projects with a minimum of managing fourteen (14) twelve (12) person Agile team(s).
  • You have at least three (3) years specialized experience in business process analysis and change management.
  • You have demonstrated experience in executing agile programs with AI/ML.
  • You have a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • You have experience managing large complex IT programs for Federal customers related to new product development and modernization (ideally for services that leverage big data and include integrations with other source systems)
  • You have experience strategizing, planning, leading organizing, and motivating project delivery team

  • Experience documenting and updating SOPs, and ensuring cross-training for service desk at all tiers.

  • Deep experience collaborating with other teams and executive-level customers to solve problems within complex technological infrastructure, security, or development problem with a high degree of trust and confidence.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills to include developing executive level briefings.

  • Must be capable of producing, maintaining, and disseminating regular PMO reports, ensuring precision in detail, concise summarization of complex matters, and accurate project status reporting.
  • Must be capable of handling internal and external relations to bolster program operations, acting as a client liaison, escalating staffing or delivery concerns.
  • Must be capable of collaborating with stakeholders, vendors, and contracting staff to tailor proposals to program needs.
  • Must be capable of monitoring vendor performance, track third party deliverables, and report on conflicts and delays of paid tools/services to the Contracting Officer Representative (COR).
