Summary:
We are looking for a talented Operations FP&A Manager, who will report into our Operations & Sustainability Finance Manager. This is a key business partnering role and an exciting opportunity to work closely with our Operations team providing insight and analysis to support business decisions. You will be essential to supporting key change projects, driving operational efficiencies, reporting on KPIs, and automating processes. You will be a catalyst for change whilst supporting our mission to be the UK’s most Sustainable grocer.

You will have experience of both supporting and challenging key stakeholders where necessary and have the flexibility to adapt to fast-changing business demands. Our strategic goals focus on driving growth through excellent service and improving our sustainability credentials, which can only be achieved by the Operational teams working towards the same goal collaboratively and efficiently. The role is a great foundation for several career paths: either pursuing FP&A across other parts of the business; or moving into other areas of finance for a rounded accountancy experience; or to step into a fully Operational role.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Key Business Partner to the Operational teams, working closely with Head of Operations and Operations Managers.
  • Supporting Finance Operations with month end reporting of Delivered Contribution (“DC”, our measure of profit after delivery costs). Understanding all levers that impact DC vs budget
  • Collaboratively working with Operations and Finance teams to forecast DC as part of budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Finance lead on strategic projects impacting Operations including Test & Learn – supporting the Operations team to deliver commercial strategy.
  • Measure, model and understand cost effectiveness of operational efficiencies.
  • Troubleshooting and providing solutions for issues that arise.
  • Interpreting and explaining financial data to the wider team in a way that informs strategic decision making.
  • Actively build partner relationships within the business, ultimately improving the flow of financial information.
  • Identify opportunities to optimise costs and performance.
  • Manage one analyst.

What We Offer :

This is a permanent position, from 26 to 37.5 hours per week. Our core working hours are 09:00 – 17:30, however we offer flexibility. The role is to be based in Andover, Hampshire, or Wimbledon, South London, with periodic travel to alternative site. Travel expenses will be available to your non-base site depending on your home location and method of travel.

  • FTE salary of £35-45k

Summary:

We’re looking for a Marketing Assistant to join Abel and Cole’s growth team.  This role will cover multiple aspect of marketing, so great for someone who wants to get stuck in and experience different parts of marketing. You will be supporting on the execution of our marketing campaigns to engage active customers and try ensuring they keep shopping with us.  The ideal candidate will be keen to learn more about data driven marketing and strong project management skills. This role reports into the CRM & Retention Lead and will work closely with the Senior Trading Executive.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Support on the execution of active customer comms through our CRM platforms across channels including email, SMS and push notifications.

• Help project manage print marketing communications to our customer base to drive an increased retention and order rate.

• Coordinate and work with the Senior Trading Executive on developing product sampling and other trading activity to active customers to drive average order value and product engagement.

• Be our ear to the ground: reporting on trending topics and providing feedback on competitor brands.

• Co-ordinate between multiple internal stakeholders to ensure the successful operational execution of campaigns, identifying opportunities for improvements and ensuring the rapid resolution of any issues as they arise. 

• Work closely with our in-house creative team to brief in campaigns across a range of channels, manage the briefs from initial concept to approval.

• Collaborate with the analysis team and reporting dashboards to monitor the success of activities to inform future campaigns. Identify opportunities for targeted campaigns and customer selections.

• Create promo codes, offers and other administrative set up required for active marketing activations, including scheduling.

• Responsible for day-to-day invoice tracking.

About You:

• Marketing experience either client or agency side

• Thorough attention to detail and experience of checking content for errors

• Able to communicate effectively with stakeholders, with good influencing skills 

• Strong project management and organisational skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities at one time

Summary:

Reporting to the Fresh Produce Buying Lead and acting as an ambassador for Abel & Cole, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a team that is passionate about sourcing and delivering an enviable range of top quality, ethical and sustainable products direct to the customer’s door. You will be working in a fast-paced environment where problem solving is part of the day to day, alongside other Abel & Cole Buyers and Supply Chain Planners. You will have responsibility in specific areas for sales, margin, availability and quality, whilst also contributing to the management and development of the wider Fresh Produce product range. You will source and analyse category insights and trends to identify commercial opportunities, potential range innovation and help shape the future development of your category.

Relationships with our fantastic farmers and producers are paramount, and you will build and nurture these connections through regular communication, visits, and crop plans. We love to be bold and take a risk, so in this role you will be encouraged to try new things to make significant steps forward in the organic and sustainable field. The right candidate for this role will have strong commercial awareness and drive paired with product vision and creativity. They will need excellent organisation skills and an eye for detail. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, dynamic department where no two days are the same.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Managing a portfolio of farms and their associated crop plans, working collaboratively with your suppliers and negotiating fair crop prices.
  • Participating in the overall Fresh Produce crop planning process, to understand how the business requirements translate into a complete Fruit & Veg and Flower & Garden procurement plans.
  • Reviewing relevant market and competitor insights to shape category plans and strategy.
  • Building supplier relationships, opportunity & risk planning, buying and category management for Fruit & Veg and Flower & Garden.
  • Providing cover for planning of seasonal and inspiring weekly fruit and veg box contents, optimising crop availability, margin and variety for our customers.
  • Working closely with the Fruit & Veg Supply Chain Planning Team to maximise availability, minimise wastage, and support them in their day-to-day supplier management.
  • Interrogating and resolving quality issues and complaints in conjunction with the Technical team and your suppliers.
  • Working closely with other cross-functional teams across marketing, technical, sustainability and operations to ensure effective collaboration.
  • Acting as an ambassador for B Corp. Making all decisions with our social and environmental impact in mind and look for opportunities, no matter how small, to use our business as a force for good.

About You:

  • Previous buying or procurement experience
  • Numerate, with good commercial awareness
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • An excellent communicator across all modes (face-to-face, phone, written); possessing the ability to gain buy-in when necessary
  • Computer literate, particularly in MS Office and Excel

Summary:

We are seeking a Systems Developer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role developing and maintaining integrations with numerous third-party resources, as well as helping to define our integrations with other partners.

You will work on a number of projects, with an initial focus on integrating with a new CRM provider; building a solution to efficiently and rapidly synchronise our Customer data and event history. Working as part of a Scrum Team you will guide Developers and Testers within the team as we build out our integrations framework, advising on and implementing integration best practices.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Design, develop, and maintain integrations between our systems and third-party platforms.

• Implement APIs and other connectivity solutions to ensure seamless data exchange between systems.

• Translate business needs into backlog items to support the team in meeting the business goals.

• Follow TDD practices and work with testers to perform thorough testing and debugging of integration solutions to ensure reliability and efficiency.

• Monitor integration performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise, providing timely resolution and support.

• Share and document integration processes, configurations, and best practices for reference and knowledge sharing.

• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies related to integrations, incorporating relevant advancements into our practices.

About You:

High level proficiency in C#, preferably developing APIs or Function Apps.

Knowledge of creating module/unit tests with Xunit, MSTest or similar.

Familiarity with using Azure Cloud Platform, Azure APIM, Function Apps.

Some experience in SQL and Data Modelling.

Experience with Messaging or Event-Driven frameworks such as Azure Service Bus, RabbitMQ or similar.

Experience of RESTful APIs and other web services protocols.

Proven experience in software development, with knowledge of good industry practice and the ability to guide others

HR Operations: Oversee all aspects of HR operations, for example, benefits administration, and employee records maintenance. Implement best practices and streamline processes to optimise efficiency and effectiveness. Review HR metrics and data to measure the effectiveness of initiatives and monitor progress.

About You:

  • You’ll need to have breadth and depth of experience across a HR/People function – from employee relations, to recruiting, operations and performance management, to culture and learning & development.
  • Proven track record as a strategic people leader who has managed a small team of HR professionals previously.
  • CIPD qualified.
  • Proven knowledge and practical application of HR practices and employment laws.
  • Demonstrable experience in developing and driving a People strategy.
  • You will have demonstrated that you can handle multiple projects in a calm and professional manner, managing workflow, people, and resources.
