The Channel Sales Engineer (SE)will work alongside the Channel Sales Managers, as part of the Global Sales Team and oversee the development and alignment of Imperva's solution offering with our channel partners within the assigned geographic region.  The Channel SE is an integral part of the channel organization and assists the team with pre-sales technical knowledge, presentations, technical enablement and labs. They work closely with channel managers, prospects and partners as a subject-matter expert to demonstrate how a proposed solution meets and exceeds customer requirements and helps the partners fill the gaps in their knowledge around the solutions and how to improve and conduct selling Imperva. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute the overall technical enablement strategy for our Latam channel partner community; plan, design, build and execute focus partner enablement and training activities, including onsite workshops, hands-on labs and remote webinars for the extended partner community. 
  • Drive partner official certification activities and metrics 
  • Manage the Regional Strategic Partner Engineering community and help address technical needs.
  • Possess demonstrable skills in customer-centric and value-based selling and a proven track record using it to help drive revenue.
  • Curate the collection of technical tools and materials the partners will frequently need and use during all stages of the sales process
  • Understand and keep up to date on competitive advantages vs Imperva’s main competitors, and have the ability to articulate them in favor of the partner’s opportunities, as well as during training sessions.
  • Confidently assess and help design joint business strategy with all levels of leadership within our channel partners’ organizations, particularly the partner sales team to strategize on sales initiatives to develop business. 
  • Participate in sales conference calls and prospect visits, providing product demonstrations in person and via online meetings, and working with the partners at both a technical and business level to show how Imperva’s solutions can provide value to them and their customers.
  • Participate as a technical resource at trade shows, conferences, and partner sales/marketing events, as needed.

 

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in network security, development, pre-sales engineering, or real world use of database and/or web application solutions; preferably with 3+ of these as a sales engineer and experience working in a start-up and vendor environment
  • Possess a solid understanding of web applications, database, security, and auditing environments
  • Must have experience with Linux
  • Must have knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, Load balancers, proxies and firewalls
  • Compliance standards knowledge (PCI, SOX, HIPAA) – an advantage
  • Knowledge in databases (Oracle, MS SQL, Sybase, DB2) – a significant advantage
  • Knowledge in application development (ASP, .NET, PHP, JSP) – an advantage
  • Experience with scripting and/or using RegEx - an advantage
  • Familiarity with various software development methodologies and concepts (e.g Agile, DevOps) is required
  • Cloud Certifications from ISC2(CCSP), AWS, Azure, or GCP – a significant advantage

About the role: The Senior Pentester, Team Lead demonstrates an ability to coach and lead team members in pentest and security assurance activities gained from multiple years of experience within various areas of technology. The Team Lead will guide the team in all areas of Offensive Security including Red Team exercises, Purple Team engagements and Penetration Testing. This includes activities related to the execution and presentation of penetration tests and vulnerability assessments for internal and external systems, applications and devices. The Team Lead will interact with multiple departments and assist support personnel in understanding how to secure systems, remediation/mitigation of found vulnerabilities and understanding of vulnerabilities. The Team Lead may be asked to assist in threat modeling, “Purple Team” exercises, and provide recommendations based on current industry trends.

Essential Functions:

  • Assess web applications, medical devices, hardware devices, and third-party software for security vulnerabilities.
  • Provide initial research into applications and devices prior to security testing.
  • Maintain an understanding of new vulnerabilities and attack techniques.
  • Develop detailed testing plans and use-cases to ensure coverage of scope and reduction of attack surface
  • Provide Pentest Team Members with feedback and guidance on engagements and career development.
  • Responsible for compiling the findings of their testing into formal reports that will be provided to the system and application stakeholders.
  • Creates reusable security artifacts
  • Interact with the stakeholders during all assessment phases to coordinate access, resolve issues during testing, and help address security concerns, working with teams to provide possible remediation options.

Job Requirements:

Job Summary:

The role is in support of several CORE Avalara SaaS suites of services. The Lead Site Reliability Engineer is responsible for the security, compliance, reliability, and efficiency of our production systems. The scope of work for CORE projects includes the coordination and oversight for the implementation of 24 x 7 environments that have been designed by SRE and Development engineering teams. The team actively participates in the design, and provides valuable feedback to ensure high availability, supportability, and observability. The role supports multiple projects and applications. It requires interactions and partnerships with teams and personnel from multiple business locations, skill sets, and backgrounds. As such, the position requires effective verbal and written communication skills in addition to a solid foundation of technical skills, analytical abilities, and end-to-end troubleshooting techniques.

Job Duties:

  • Coordinate and prioritize activities with leadership.
  • Oversee, participate, review, and provide feedback of CORE project work to its successful implementation of projects and tasks.
  • Formally accept deliverables to ensure compliance and quality standards.
  • Ensure that observability deliverables, proactively monitor Avalara customer facing, revenue critical applications.
  • Our focus is on prevention through early identification of potential issues.
  • Participate, provide oversight, and enforce Compliance requirements for audits (SOX, SOC, etc...).

Qualifications:

  • 12+ years enterprise-class experience with large scale cloud solutions. Google Cloud is highly desirable. AWS and Azure are a plus.
  • 12+ years enterprise-class application experience with production deployments, monitoring, and communications.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect associate or Sysops Administrator associate
  • Strong application troubleshooting. Microsoft .NET Framework and .Net Core stacks or experienced in the LAMP stack is preferred. High learning aptitude and interest in learning new stacks.
