THE ROLE

As part of a small and dynamic team, you'll play a pivotal role in advancing imaging technology for camera capture while creating augmented reality experiences that enhance human perception. The scope of these projects will encompass camera color processing, developing features related to human color perception.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Develop perceptual features for immersive MR/AR experiences by modeling human perception
  • Establish camera and display image quality metrics for MR/AR benchmarking
  • Create a platform for objective and subjective psychophysical studies to evaluate virtual object rendering in MR/AR applications
  • Research and develop computer vision and machine learning algorithms for light estimation and virtual object rendering

WHO YOU ARE

  • MS/PhD degree in computer science, electrical engineering, imaging science, color science, biology, cognitive science or a related field
  • Strong background in color science and imaging science
  • Proficient in programming languages such as MATLAB, Python, C#, and C++
  • Strong background in user experience, machine learning, computer vision, VR & AR
  • Knowledgeable in data analysis and signal processing
  • Strong communication skills for working with cross-functional teams
  • Strong understanding of image processing, HDR imaging, image segmentation, depth estimation, human color perception, AR/VR rendering, computer vision and machine learning is desirable*
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States



COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • The hourly rate for this position is $60-80 US Dollars (per qualifications)

WHO YOU ARE

  • MS/PhD degree in computer science, electrical engineering, imaging science, color science, biology, cognitive science or a related field
  • Background in image processing and computer vision
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Python and C++
  • Experience with 3D tools such as Unity, Blender and Maya*
  • Strong background in user experience, machine learning, computer vision, VR & AR
  • Strong communication skills for working with cross-functional teams
  • Understanding of light sensor, image sensor, camera and display hardware systems*
  • Experience in 3D computer graphics, lighting and shading*

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • The annual salary range for this position is $110,000 to $140,000 plus equity (per qualifications)

OUR ENGINEERING TEAM

Our engineers develop resilient and scalable solutions on internal projects as well as external projects with our partners across animation, visual effects, mixed reality, social media and game production. All of our engineers contribute to an agile product development lifecycle by applying skills that span from requirements analysis, design, graphics tools, pipeline tools, workflow analysis and pipeline integration.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • You will formulate and solve numerical optimization problems in computer vision and computer graphics
  • You will design and develop and train complex machine learning models
  • You will optimize ML solutions for on-device deployment
  • You will collaborate with other researchers and engineers to develop experiments, prototypes, and concepts
  • Take ownership of technical issues and work to resolve them

WHO YOU ARE

  • PhD/MS in Computer Science or related field
  • Minimum 3 years experience using Python or C++
  • Experienced with Pytorch/openCV/PIL
  • Experience with depth estimation, point cloud processing, and digital geometry processing
  • Knowledge of basic visual signal processing tasks such as classification, segmentation, tracking, denoising
  • Familiar with all components in the training of ML model, including data loader, backbone search, choice of regressors/objectives/optimizers, hyperparameter search, model finetune, model quantization/optimization/format conversion
  • Self-motivated with strong communications skills and able to work both in a team and independently
  • Basic knowledge of the ISP pipeline is desirable*
  • Knowledge on image/video/depth data processing is desirable*
  • Experience of delivering software product in C/C++ and exposure to Android code base is desirable*
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
