We are looking for a Sr. Product Marketing Manager to help us take our category-defining PostgreSQL database platform to market. This person will be responsible for equipping our sales and marketing teams with the tools, resources, and knowledge they need to effectively communicate the value of Timescale's products to our customers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with technical products, particularly developer tools, the ability to craft compelling narratives that resonate with developers and business buyers, and extensive experience in sales and marketing enablement.

This role is remote, and English language fluency is a requirement. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the sales enablement strategy, including writing and organizing our sales enablement materials and rolling them out to our sales team.
  • Develop buyer personas and customer segments and adapt our product positioning for different audiences.
  • Work with our amazing customers to create customer success stories.
  • Research and stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to shape effective sales strategies.
  • Collect and analyze data that supports our solutions in the market to buyers.
  • Collaborate with product management, sales, and marketing teams to ensure messaging, positioning, and go-to-market activities alignment.
  • Find our customer advocates through relationships with sales reps and via social media, then nurture them and help them promote our cause.
  • Work closely with the demand generation team to develop campaigns that support sales objectives.
  • Use data (including social media experiments, user research, market insights, and product understanding) to hone messaging, identify the best go-to-market strategies, and segment the market most effectively. 
  • Partner with sales to run win/loss analysis and identify improvements across product, marketing, and sales to increase our win rate.
  • Work with marketing and product to write compelling content (e.g. blogs, website copy) for our audience.

Experience and Skills

  • 5+ years of product marketing experience, focusing on sales and marketing enablement. At least two years of experience with technical products for developers.
  • 3+ years of experience working remotely with a globally distributed team.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful sales enablement programs.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong sense of ownership, urgency, and problem-solving skills - Timescale is moving fast, and so should you. Trying things, making mistakes, and quickly improving are in our DNA.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and compellingly to both internal and target customer audiences.

About the Role

We are at a key time for the company in our product strategy and positioning. We need to build out the product marketing function to fully take advantage of the innovation coming from the product team. We are increasing our focus on enterprise customers, and will be adding an account-based approach to everything we do. Our partner channel represents significant growth, and product marketing has a key role to play in that strategy. 

We have a new CMO who has a strong vision for transforming our marketing leadership function to drive this next phase of revenue growth. You will be a key part of this team. This highly visible role is a core collaboration point for product management, marketing, sales, and the partner teams.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Revenue Enablement: Act as a subject-matter expert on messaging, market position, and competition. Develop content, case studies, and demos to aid the sales process.
  • Demand Generation: Collaborate with demand generation to create content aimed at growing the pipeline and supporting revenue growth.
  • GTM Launch Program: Manage the product and feature launch strategy to ensure effective deployment, market penetration, and resonant messaging.
  • Market Research: Stay ahead of market trends, customer needs, and competitor moves. Regularly review and update content and brief revenue teams. Customer Advocacy: Develop and implement a customer advocacy program, including case studies, reviews, and building a community of advocates.

Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with other teams to align GTM strategy, identify collateral needs, and build a sustainable workflow.

First 30 Days:

  • Develop a forward-facing strategy for the development and growth of a customer advocacy group including cadence, content, and cross-functional opportunities.
  • Establish relationships with key stakeholders across product management, sales, and the partner teams.
  • Learn about OpenSesame products and solutions and be able to accurately speak to their opportunities and position in the marketin market.

By the End of Q1:

  • Support revenuesales enablement as a subject-matter expert on messaging, market, and competition.
  • Craft a strategic approach to managing an outbound communications strategy centered around industry analysts, product placements, and earned media opportunities. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify ongoing opportunities in sales and success enablement, product training and documentation, and customer engagement.
  • Analyze marketing and sales data to identify opportunities to provide product marketing expertise in support of pipeline goals.

First 6 Months:

  • Create a market research program focused on delivering key insights and feedback to internal stakeholders while scoping actionable outputs from this research.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop net new assets including case studies, messaging guides, battlecards, and more.
  • Distill and optimize processes around product documentation and training.
  • Meet with cross-functional stakeholders to identify collateral needs and coordinate across marketing teams to manage resources, set deadlines, and scope projects.

By the End of Year 1:

  • Deploy an ongoing and optimized GTM strategy to bring new products and features to market in an effective and impactful way.
  • Become an internal expert on OpenSesame’s brand, products, and market position with an emphasis on competitive analysis and internal enablement.
  • Scope and lead strategic direction of quarterly campaigns and large marketing projects across an annual editorial calendar.

Compensation:The pay range for this position is generally between $125,000-$140,000 per year and depends on experience. About the Job

As Principal Product Marketing Manager - Devices, you will ensure the “voice of customer” permeates our product roadmaps and outbound marketing for devices and related feature launches. Responsible for both inbound and outbound activities, you will partner closely with product managers, lead customer research to understand product market fit and consumer needs, identify key audience segments, and craft compelling positioning and messaging that indicates how our devices are differentiated from competition and make everyday life better. You will socialize findings to inform near- and long-term roadmaps, as well as lead go-to-market strategies with the goal of driving both device sales and membership growth.

The US-based salary range for this position is 165,000 to 235,000. What You’ll Do

  • Customer Research: Become an expert on our target users for devices and understand their needs, behaviors, and how to enhance their experience with our devices and features in Life360 via quantitative, qualitative and conjoint analysis.
  • Category Insights: Partnering with Product and Devices leads, you'll translate user insights and market trends into actionable product and feature roadmaps that support annual revenue goals and membership growth, inclusive but not limited to competitive analysis, pricing, naming/positioning, and channel recommendations. 
  • Strategic Launch Planning: Lead the strategic planning for new product introductions and feature/campaign launches including briefing of go-to-market strategies, ensuring alignment with cross-functional partners.

  • Product/Feature Adoption: Post launch of hardware, continue to drive feature awareness and membership upsell by leading the development and execution of insight-driven campaigns, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive and effective engagement strategies, inclusive of across retail and DTC partners.
  • Voice of the Customer: Be a strong advocate for a holistic and positive customer experience with all brand touchpoints and ensure cohesive user journeys for product and feature engagement across multiple touchpoints in a very hypothesis-based, test/learn environment.

What We’re Looking For

Overview:

We are currently seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join the Product Marketing team at Recharge. This person will drive our strategy, value proposition and marketing efforts for high-growth potential segments. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in shaping and executing targeted marketing initiatives, leveraging a deep understanding of product value propositions, the competitive landscape and market demands. 


What You’ll Do:

  • Live by and champion our organizational values: Accountability, Collaboration, Iteration & Details.

  • Develop, orchestrate, and execute holistic ABM strategies and programs, encompassing 1:1, 1:few, and 1:many initiatives, as well as executive and industry programs.

  • Become a product and market expert to drive thoughtful go-to-market strategies, collaborating closely with the Product team.

  • Partner with Account Executives and Sales Development Representatives to impact outreach effectiveness and efficiency through research, enablement, presentation and sequence reviews.

  • Collaborate closely with Marketing and Sales teams to define and prioritize short and long-term programs and campaigns to drive engagement in key accounts.

  • Take responsibility, along with counterparts in Sales, for consistently achieving new sales pipeline targets quarterly.

  • Work closely with Customer Success to ensure new product launches are adopted by top customers.

  • Measure performance metrics and provide actionable recommendations to enhance our roadmap and growth, utilizing data insights to influence future strategy.

  • Define, monitor, and analyze metrics for campaigns to ensure strategic goals are met, leveraging data insights to influence future strategy.

  • Participate in industry and company-hosted conferences and events.


What You’ll Bring:

  • Minimum of 4 years of Product Marketing and/or Account-Based Marketing experience, including a track record of developing Enterprise marketing programs. 

  • Involvement in competitive intelligence programs for a technical product. 

  • Experience partnering with Sales, SDR, and events teams for pipeline and revenue targets. 

  • Familiarity with CRM and MAP software (e.g., Salesforce, Marketo, HubSpot), ABM, and sales intelligence technologies (e.g., 6sense, Demandbase, Clearbit, ZoomInfo, Apollo).

  • Experience supporting sales teams with 1:1 and 1:few campaigns and presentations.

  • Highly organized and strong attention to detail with a motivated, self-starter attitude.

  • Demonstrated ability to organize and lead cross-functional project teams for impactful go-to-market launches.

  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.

  • Experience in ecommerce technology is a plus.

  • Willingness to travel as needed.
