DPDK was created in 2010 by Intel and made available under a permissive open source license. The open source community was established at DPDK.org in 2013 by 6WIND and has facilitated the continued expansion of the project. What You Will Work On
Account manage events that we hold for our own projects, working with the project ‘clients’ and stakeholders (project Executive Directors and staff, project board, marketing and technical committees, and internal cross-functional teams) to drive event strategy and successful execution, meeting goals and objectives

The mission of the Alpha-Omega project is to protect society by improving the security of open source software through direct maintainer engagement and expert analysis. An important part of this project involves building and continually improving a toolchain to identify critical vulnerabilities with very little noise. The output will be triaged by a team of security experts and then reported to the project maintainers, often with a suggested fix.
We are seeking a highly-skilled software engineer with deep security experience to help us build the technology that will make this possible.

Job Role And Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll work with the Alpha-Omega leadership team, security researchers, and the larger OpenSSF community to build, refine, and invent technology that will efficiently identify critical security vulnerabilities in open source projects. You’ll do this by creating tools, adding new rules to existing tools, and inventing new ways to reduce or eliminate false positives.
Key responsibilities include:
Building, maintaining, refining, extending, and integrating security tools into the analysis suite. These tools will include static analyzers (for source code and binaries), dynamic analyzers (e.g. fuzzers, memory instrumentation), and other security tools.
Gathering and analyzing metrics to understand how well the toolchain works, and then improving it, either directly or by working with the maintainers of those tools to improve them.
Required Skills
15+ years of software engineering experience, including expertise with modern infrastructure (containers, cloud infrastructure, serverless architectures), multiple programming languages (C/C++, JavaScript, Java, and Python), and both Linux and Windows operating systems.
10+ years of software security experience, including a deep understanding of how vulnerabilities manifest themselves in source code and how they can be remediated.
A strong understanding of how software analysis and testing tools (SAST/DAST, fuzzing) work.
A strong understanding of the open source ecosystem and the current and emerging threats to that ecosystem.
The ability to respond and adapt to an interrupt-driven environment while maintaining focus on long term objectives.
Demonstrated ability to understand, operate, and communicate in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
Preferred Skills
An advanced degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Strong experience designing or implementing software analysis tools (static analysis, dynamic analysis, fuzzing).

Your work will directly lead to an improved security posture for a broad set of open source projects.
Key responsibilities include:
Oversee and manage the work of the Alpha-Omega staff, starting with an engineer and a security researcher, and growing based on our success through 2022 and beyond.
Work with OpenSSF staff to summarize and report out on the activities and impact of the Alpha-Omega project in a way suitable for both internal and external audiences.
Lead engagement with key external open source project communities to explore areas where Alpha-Omega and the broader OpenSSF community could be helpful in improving their security posture; as a result of those discussions, develop a plan to provide help (in the form of funding for third-party activities), specific remediations for important security-related gaps, ongoing security posture enhancement, and adoption of various metrics like the OpenSSF Best Practice Badge or Scorecards or tooling, and beyond.
Handle sensitive information as part of a coordinated disclosure process.
Engage with the public community formed around Alpha-Omega to maximize the value of offers of volunteer assistance.
Make occasional public presentations on the goals, activities, and impact of the project.

Job Role And Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll work with the Alpha-Omega leadership team, security engineers, and the larger OpenSSF community to find new, critical security vulnerabilities across a wide array of open source projects. You’ll have access to a suite of analysis tools, dedicated engineering support, and cloud-scale infrastructure to help you succeed. When you’re confident a vulnerability is real, you’ll help get it fixed with a clear writeup, sometimes with a suggested fix.
Key responsibilities include:
Providing feedback to and working with our engineering team to reduce or eliminate false positives and to reliably detect additional critical vulnerabilities.
Researching additional analysis techniques and working with engineering staff to validate and build those techniques back into the toolchain.

The Event Coordinator, Registration will help the Linux Foundation Event Team continue to scale and deliver high quality, successful events for open source technology communities. As a core business unit of The Linux Foundation, the LF Event Team, composed of 40+ event management, sales and marketing professionals, manages over 150 events and conferences globally each year, ranging in size from 50 to 20k attendees. What You Will Work On
Assist Registration team in planning, managing, and executing registration for our events / conferences including launch, pre-event, onsite and post-event registration management, attendee communications, scheduling, shipping/ordering, virtual platform integration, and ongoing attendee/team inquiry support; ability to manage onsite registration for a small to medium event.
Support the launch and maintenance of our Cvent registration forms and applicable webpages
Assist the registration team in managing external vendor relationships, inclusive of negotiating budgets and contracts.
Assist the registration team in managing individual event budgets, with focus on keeping the event under budget and reducing costs while getting the most bang for the buck, including post-event invoice, reporting, billing, and financial close-out
Work closely with internal cross-functional teams where areas overlap to meet event goals and objectives for successful execution of events.
Manage the travel fund, visa request, and scholarship process and close-out for each event.
Manage the registration event inbox and respond to attendee inquiries
Proofread event materials including website, signage, attendee/speaker/sponsor communications.
Who We Are Looking For
Prior Cvent Flex experience required
BS/BA degree and minimum 2 years of event management experience (specifically, experience must be in one or more of the following areas: managing B-to-B conferences as a corporate planner, at a 3rd party event management firm/agency, or as a convention services manager at a hotel); Previous experience executing conferences without using an outside agency or DMC
Prior experience working with a team to produce events

Top marketing candidates will bring experience in strategy development and hands-on execution, across multiple domains of AR/PR, marketing, events, online content cultivation, stakeholder engagement, and community development. Candidate will be results oriented and able to track progress and pivot quickly to adopt industry best practices and course adjustment while managing and tracking initiatives within budgets, timelines, and priorities.

The Linux Foundation has evolved a proven methodology to transform projects into category leaders. LFX operationalizes this approach, providing a suite of tools built to facilitate every aspect of open source development. Critical projects must have their finger on the pulse of their entire developer ecosystem, with tools tailored to key stakeholders driving project development, including maintainers, contributors, community managers, marketers, and more.
Objectives of this Role
Act as the primary point of contact within the organization for members of staff and our communities
Ensure the company’s policy is in accordance with privacy laws and best practices, including General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL), California Consumer Privacy Act and any other relevant regulations
Evaluate the existing data protection framework and identify areas of non or partial compliance and work with internal staff to rectify any issues
Take action through tools or coordinating with internal staff on data privacy requests (e.g. deletion request)
Devise training plans and provide data protection advice and support for members of staff
Inform and advise the Data Controller or Data Processor on all matters related to data protection
Promote a culture of data protection compliance across all units of the organization
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
Provide expert advice and educate employees on important data compliance requirements
Draft new and amend existing internal data protection policies, guidelines, and procedures, in consultation with key stakeholders
Hold training with staff members across different business units who are involved in data handling or processing
Proactively conduct audits to ensure compliance and address potential issues
Maintain records of all data processing activities carried out by the company
Serve as the point of contact between the company and any data protection authorities
Coordinate with legal counsel on any matters of policy changes or issues related to data privacy
Skills and Qualifications
Minimum of three years experience working in data protection compliance or a related field
Expertise in European data protection laws and practices including an in-depth understanding of the GDPR
Knowledge of California Consumer Privacy Act
Knowledge of Chinese Personal Information Protection Law
Experience within a legal, audit and/or risk function department
Strong project management skills
Ability to work well under pressure and manage sensitive and confidential information
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong attention to detail
Great interpersonal skills and ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is required
Juris Doctor or training in privacy laws would be preferred
Proficient in Google Suite or related writing and presentation software
