Phocas Software is hiring a Remote Sales Account Executive (SaaS - Mid-Market - Expansion)

In this Account Executive role, you’ll focus on expansion sales, nurturing relationships with existing customers to uncover new ways our solutions can simplify their data and boost their performance. You’ll guide customers through the full sales process with confidence, showcase the value of our products in live demos, and ensure their long-term success with Phocas.

What you’ll need to sell feel good:

  • Strong needs analysis, positioning, business justification and closing skills.
  • Experience of managing and closing concurrent sales-cycles.
  • Track record of over-achieving quota in past positions.
  • Be a pro-active self-starter
  • Experience of SaaS, ERP or similar (ideally in the mid-market B2B space)

What you’ll do to grow fast and have fun:

  • Proactively engage existing customers through various channels to identify opportunities for upselling and cross selling to achieve/exceed monthly sales quotas - You'll love getting out there, building relationships and building revenue
  • Expand Revenue Opportunities: Analyse customer accounts to evaluate pain points, identify untapped potential, and propose Phocas solutions to address their needs.
  • Articulating the value of Phocas’ solutions and applications, preparing and delivering customized demo/ presentations to key decision makers to get buy-in.
  • Accurately forecast sales activity and revenue achievement.
  • Understand industry segments served and keep abreast of development in the market and/or region.
  • Stay current with Phocas software, system information, new features/enhancements and product offerings.
  • Attend trade shows and other industry events to showcase Phocas products/ solutions.

  • Degree qualified, or relevant work experience
  • 3+ years previous quota-carrying sales experience, ideally with software-based solutions and B2B environment.
  • Be driven and pro-active in a high-velocity sales environment.
  • Experience working with CRM systems, such as Salesforce or HubSpot.
  • Ability to listen and apply new learnings internally/ externally.
  • Willingness to learn tools and workflows that will help generate leads.
  • Ability to travel 15-25% of the time (domestic & international travel).
  • Experience in business intelligence, accounting technology and/or ERP solutions.
  • Previous Sales Methodology (SPIN, Challenger, Force, MEDDIC) training highly desired.

Desirable

  • Prior experience with HubSpot preferred.
  • Prior experience selling and/or working within our target markets, such as Manufacturing, Distribution, Retail, Services, etc.

What you’ll need to blow our customers away:

  • Project management superpowers - ability to scope, plan execute and close projects
  • Experience as a tech whizz, customer champion or project superhero! Previous mastery as an onboarding, technical consultant, support engineer, sales engineer, customer success consultant or technical delivery project manager would be ideal!
  • Strong knowledge of project management tools such as Smartsheet's and JIRA
  • Be a customer crusader - Possess an ability to build strong relationships, deliver exceptional experiences and put a smile on every customers face!
  • A champion of agile methodologies, including the ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with customer adoption and engagement metrics and ability to analyze data to drive insights and actions.

  • Icing on the cake - a good knowledge of relational databases including T-SQL, MySQL, and PostgreSQL, with a sprinkle of REST API knowledge for that extra advantage!

What you’ll do to create a seamless experience:

  • Deliver onboarding projects for new and existing customers that deliver value by driving early usage and engagement
  • Identify and understand customer needs and requirements and tailor adoption projects to meet those needs
  • Plan and manage projects that keep stakeholders engaged, with a shared sense of urgency and purpose, driving quick and effective project completion through clear timelines, milestones and deliverables
  • Implement and configure Phocas software and deliver training where required to meet project milestones.
  • Maintain clear and frequent communication with all project stakeholders to maintain project momentum at all time
  • Collaborate with technical teams (Activation/Solutions/Product) to provide feedback on customer needs and preferences.
  • Prepare to face challenges head-on! Anticipate project risks and issues, confidently address them, mitigate risks and issues, escalating where required
  • Keep clear and accurate records in our project management tools at all times. Your meticulous attention to detail will ensure nothing slips through the cracks.

Our software is MS SQL server based, we use our own mapping DB creation software and various techniques to create extraction and staging layers, and our help desk software is Jira (Atlassian).

What you’ll need to help customers become digitally fluent:

  • Commitment to resolving issues for customers; demonstrated experience dealing with support cases or requests
  • Minimum 1 year experience working in a similar environment, dealing with support cases / product support or complex customer requests via email, telephone and in person
  • Knowledge of Contact Management systems, Database software, Internet software and Word Processing software
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications
  • Strong communication skills - You will collaborate closely with our wonderful customers as well as our USA and Australian colleagues
  • Knowledge of basic SQL, data point integration, database design or data analytics - You’re not afraid to dive into the data deep end!
  • ERP knowledge would be a bonus!

  • Quickly diagnose O/S and application issues and implement corrective actions and end-user training (Send more complex problems through to the appropriate team/consultants)
  • Triage and process the support case queue to ensure we respond and communicate in a timely manner against SLA’s. This can be via Phone and Email/Jira as required.
  • Take ownership of support cases and perform detailed troubleshooting, provide workaround resolutions, root cause analysis and major incident management.
  • Perform detailed validation of customer ETL process and data when required to confirm/diagnose customer support issues
  • Document processes and procedures and update knowledge database
  • Use Jira and Hubspot for maintaining project information and contact details, to document, track, monitor, and report support cases.
  • Advocate for the end user; ensure they receive top quality, timely service and support
