Square’s Developer Platform helps connect Sellers with third party solutions that help them run their business, and enables Developers to build upon and integrate with the Square product ecosystem. Through this platform, Sellers are able to leverage products and tools from across the globe, integrating them directly into their workflows to support their business.

On the Developer Platform Growth team, we focus on the continued growth of our platform by making it easier for Merchants to connect to the integrations they need, and by building Developer-facing capabilities that enable external developers to build robust, seamless integration experiences for Square merchants. You can learn more about the breadth of our Developer Platform at https://developer.squareup.com/

As a senior Backend engineer on the Developer Growth team, you’ll help the team build and mature our services to be responsive and reliable, and work with our partner teams to find solutions that maximize the value of the developer platform. You’ll contribute to the roadmap and strategy decisions for key developer/merchant abilities and will play a critical role in helping the team accomplish our industry leading growth goals. Some of our services live in an ecosystem of other services, so you’ll need to understand when to build and when to borrow, and develop relationships with our dependencies.

Qualifications

You have:

  • 5+ years of relevant software development experience (or additional academic experience).

  • Strong ownership and execution skills, with a pragmatic focus on ROI, to deliver remarkable solutions to our merchants.
