What you’ll do 

  • Represent security in internal and external meetings to discuss security analysis, findings and security/compliance responses. 
  • Review past incidents and identify attack trends. Finetune and reconfigure alerts based on prior incidents to improve detection.
  • Actively participate in the development, documentation, and implementation of new processes to expand and mature capabilities for the organization.
  • Identify and track internal and external assets to identify potential risks. Communicate these risks to internal and external stakeholders and build a plan of action.
  • Develop, update, and maintain a repository of cybersecurity threat information that may be used in conducting risk assessments and reports on cyber risk trends.
  • Build and maintain tools for automation of security events and reporting. Optimize and reconfigure tools to improve security processes.
  • Implement, maintain and monitor IDS/IPS rule sets, alerts and reports.
  • Perform investigations and improve detection processes on a wide variety of security events from various sources to determine whether they pose a threat to Pindrop
  • Identify, research and develop internal and open source tools used to improve security and threat intelligence workflows to support Pindrop's unique environment
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to answer customer questionnaires, compliance audits.

Your skill-set: 

  • 2+ years of security monitoring and incident response experience
  • Must have experience with Linux, Mac, and knowledge of Windows
  • Experience in configuration and maintenance of endpoint security solutions, eg. Crowdstrike, SentinelOne, Carbon Black.
  • Experience with security tools including SIEM, Metasploit, Splunk, Wireshark
  • In-depth knowledge of SIEM log ingestion and alert creation.
  • Hands-on experience with TCP/IP and networking
  • Ability to write scripts/code using Python or other scripting languages for automation
  • Knowledge of incident response and investigation tools and techniques
  • Experience with security operations in cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, Azure etc.
  • Experience responding to security questionnaires and customer questions

Nice to have:

  • Experience with forensic analysis tools (commercial and open-source) and procedures desired
  • Experience with threat feeds and threat intelligence (e.g., STIX, TAXII, IOCs) desired
  • Experience with cloud logging applications, AWS Cloudtrail, VPC Flow Logs, Lambda, etc.

Within 90 days

  • You’ll demonstrate a firm grasp of the company and confidence in your job function. Thus, you should be preparing to make breakthrough contributions to your team or department. 
  • The contributions may include finding new ways to improve security or coming up with ideas to save the company money. Instead of only identifying problems in the company, you should be at the forefront of brainstorming possible solutions. 
  • You will be able to spearhead new initiatives and collaborate with other teams for the good of the company.

    Salary Range Information 

    Based on market data and other factors, the salary range for this position is $69,000-$105,000. However, a salary higher or lower than this range may be appropriate for a candidate whose qualifications differ meaningfully from those listed in the job description.

    Responsibilities

    • Define, deploy, and manage AWS infrastructure resources such as EC2, RDS, IAM roles/polices, security groups, and lambda functions via CICD processes and infrastructure-as-code scripts while adhering to Verisk best practices for security and compliance.
    • Due to the sensitive nature of Verisk data assets, the individual will follow and help to refine standard processes and must demonstrate attention to detail. 
    • Assist with monitoring and evaluation of cloud resources with respect to Verisk compliance and remediation of issues found.
    • Contribute to technical design of project architectures; evaluate security exposure, cost, and maintenance aspects of proposed solutions; propose alternative solutions to optimize approaches.

    Qualifications

    • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
    • Ability to lead projects to support internal customers and communicate effectively.
    • Proficient in deploying and managing containerized applications using Amazon EKS and ECS. Demonstrated ability to ensure secure, scalable, and efficient Kubernetes deployments.
    • Expertise in Linux operating systems, writing and managing AWS scripting for automation and task optimization within cloud environments.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of AWS networking concepts, including VPC endpoints, PrivateLink, VPC peering, and overall VPC architecture. Ability to design and manage secure and efficient network topologies.
    • Experienced in creating and updating infrastructure as code using tools like AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, and AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK). Skilled in managing state files and troubleshooting IaC deployments to ensure reliability and compliance.

    What You’ll Do 

    • Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available Kubernetes clusters to support our growing application portfolio
    • Bootstrap new on-prem and managed Kubernetes environments from the ground up, including networking, storage, and security configurations
    • Extend our existing Kubernetes platforms with advanced features such as service mesh, serverless frameworks, and custom resource definitions (CRDs)
    • Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code (IaC) templates using Cluster API (CAPI) for automated cluster provisioning and configuration management
    • Implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using OpenTelemetry to ensure platform health and performance
    • Optimize resource utilization and cost-effectiveness of Kubernetes deployments across multiple cloud providers
    • Collaborate with teams to design and implement CI/CD pipelines for containerized applications
    • Troubleshoot complex issues in production Kubernetes environments and lead incident response efforts
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest Kubernetes ecosystem developments and evaluate new technologies for potential adoption
    • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the development of platform engineering best practices

    You

    • Have 5+ years bootstrapping, extending and operating K8s at scale (1,500+ nodes)
    • Have 5+ years automating the provisioning, configuration management, and deployment of production systems
    • Have 5+ years building resilient, scalable systems with Python/Go
    • Have 5+ years managing and securing infrastructure at scale (2,000+ hosts)
    • Possess Sound experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, etc.)
    • Possess Sound knowledge of DevOps, Infrastructure, and Platform concepts
    • Possess Strong development skills in Python or Golang
    • Possess Strong proficiency with Linux command line and debugging tools

    Nice to Have

    • Experience with building complex hybrid environments (AWS and on-premise preferred)
    • Experience with service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio, Linkerd) and serverless frameworks (e.g., Knative)
    • Experience with multi-cluster or multi-cloud Kubernetes deployments
    • Experience in the machine learning or computer hardware industry

    Salary Range Information 

    Based on market data and other factors, the salary range for this position is $153,000-$240,000. However, a salary higher or lower than this range may be appropriate for a candidate whose qualifications differ meaningfully from those listed in the job description.
