About the Role: Join our team as a Senior NLP Data Science Researcher, where you'll apply advanced Generative AI, LLM, and NLP methods in novel Healthcare projects. Qualifications

Key Qualifications:
- PhD Degree: Must possess a PhD in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Statistics, Medicine, Life Sciences, or a related field. A strong academic publishing track record is preferred.
- NLP & LLM Expertise: Demonstrable hands-on development experience in Natural Language Processing and Large Language Models (LLM).
- Software Engineering: Proven experience in coding, software design, and data science is essential. Substantial hands-on expertise with the Python ecosystem of AI libraries is required.
- Data Analysis Acumen: Skilled in exploratory data analysis, data preparation for ML/AI, and statistical evaluation of ML models.
- Communication: Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including in customer facing interactions.
- Research and Publication Skills: Proven ability to take the lead in writing scientific publications. Must have publications from LLM & NLP.
- US Residency: Must be a resident of the United States.

Desirable Skills:
- Production-Grade ML Pipeline Development: Experience in building and managing production-level text processing pipelines, MLOps and LLMOps workflows and tools.
- Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with PyTorch, Spark, Databricks, LangChain, Spark NLP, cloud API’s (AWS, Azure, etc.), and development tools (GitHub, MLFlow, Docker, etc.) is a plus.
- Healthcare Background: A background in medicine, pharma, bioinformatics, or biostatistics is highly advantageous.

What You’ll Do

  • You will work on developing and refining AI models. Publishing research outcomes in the form of dataset, model, demo apps and publications.. 
  • You will also collaborate with colleagues across the organization to benchmark and optimize ML workloads on our GPU platforms.
  • The ideal candidate will possess a solid research background with experience in generative models.

You 

  • Demonstrate a proven track record of enhancing existing machine learning methodologies, evidenced by significant achievements such as first author publications or notable projects.
  • Manage and advance a research agenda, including selecting meaningful research problems and independently conducting long-term projects.
  • Execute model training at scale, either by managing multiple experiments concurrently or overseeing critical high-cost runs to ensure optimal performance.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in MLOps within a collaborative environment.
  • Experience in training large models using distributed systems.
  • Experience in creating high-performance implementations of deep learning algorithms.

Salary Range Information 

Based on market data and other factors, the salary range for this position is $189,000 - $260,000. However, a salary higher or lower than this range may be appropriate for a candidate whose qualifications differ meaningfully from those listed in the job description.

Job Summary

Lead and manage the effort to clean, process, store and analyze clinical data with its application towards research and development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) algorithms supporting better understanding of the safety and efficacy of new therapies. Primary Responsibilities

·        Oversees day to data activities involving custom software, data engineering and automation.

·        Develop standard metrics demonstrating model performance, robustness, and validity.

·        Engage with various internal departments such as data management, technology solutions, biostatistics, IT, and business development to strategically identify areas to develop automations, apply AI and/or ML toward increasing the efficiency of processes and detecting information trends.

We are building the next billion-dollar business in enterprise SAAS. We have an amazing team, with experts in product, engineering, data science, and machine learning. Our team is now 30+ people strong, and we have paying customers today with expectations to continue growing quickly.

A core part of our product is the data pipeline that converts invoice PDFs into clean, mapped vendor spend data.

After we ingest PDFs from clients, we use an ensemble of models (ML and LLM) to automatically extract and map relevant data from invoices. Our Human Oversight team identifies and addresses errors that the models make. The modifications that the Human Oversight team makes within the data pipeline are used to help retrain and improve the quality of our models.

Once the data is mapped to our canonical taxonomy, we have a clean digital invoice-based data asset. We generate insights using this data asset, surfacing line-item level insights to our clients via our web app. From our web app, we have the Human Oversight team audit the data that we have surfaced to our clients.

Your role will be critical to generating this intelligence for our clients. Without excellent, highly accurate data extraction, we will not be able to provide the quality intelligence we want to our clients.

Your experience

You are an experienced, hands-on senior engineering leader with extensive experience identifying problems, coming up with technical solutions, and driving projects to completion.   • Basic Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent technical experience.
    • 4+ years of industry ML experience as TL or TLM
  • Preferred Qualifications:  
    • MS/Ph.D. in Machine Learning, Statistics or a related field 
    • 7+ years of industry ML experience as TL or TLM
    • End-to-End experience building web-scale AI systems, feature stores, microservices

  • Tackle novel challenges in predicting and prescribing personalized medicine to individuals
  • Bring a broad awareness of the landscape of ML and AI-based tools for solving common end-user problems (e.g. recommendation systems, prediction, generative AI)
  • Guide our strategy in machine learning and data use at large

You Have:

  • 10+ years working in data science or machine learning with a proven record of incremental changes that improved product metrics with machine learning technologies
  • Proven experience leading a technical team of Machine Learning Engineers or an advanced Data Science team
  • Solid background in machine learning fundamentals, modeling techniques and productionizing machine learning models
  • Intimate familiarity with modern data science and machine learning tool stack
