About the role

We are currently looking for a highly creative mid-weight Digital Designer to join our in-house design team. This role will see you working on a variety of creative projects across the business. You will be brimming with fresh ideas and have incredible typography skills, as well as having an expert eye for composition and layout. You will be a self-starter with a love for all things art, design and beauty.

You will have the opportunity to work on digital campaign designs, as well as evergreen digital brand experiences and digital comms. You will also work closely with the content, print and CRM teams to create best-in-class digital designs from concept through to execution and ensure consistency across the board.

As a Digital Designer you will

  • Creating and delivering digital assets for website, emails, display and paid social advertising.
  • Translate pre-approved campaign creative into a broad variety of global digital assets, ensuring consistency across all elements (i.e. emails, CT.com, Third Party Retailers, Affiliates and Social, BAU & Evergreen templated digital assets)
  • Create impactful animated content, GIFs and motion graphics that elevate campaign storytelling.
  • Keep up to date with trends, best practices, digital advancements and competitors to help improve the team’s approach to digital design
  • Keep digital style guides up to date.
  • Work closely with the creative services team, digital and CRM teams to ensure all briefs are understood and deliverables are met on time.

About you

  • A strong design portfolio demonstrating all types of digital design (website, emails, social, animated content) across various customer touch points, preferable within luxury/beauty industries.
  • Expert use of Adobe design suite. Previous experience with collaborative design tools such as Sketch or Figma preferable.
  • Strong experience working with animated GIFs and videos, After Effects skills are a big plus.
  • Understanding and knowledge of online accessibility and UX.
  • Great sense of design and composition with a strong eye for layout and appreciation of brand guidelines. Strong typographic skills is a must!
  • Multi-tasker that can respond to changes quickly and prioritise workload effectively.
  • Maintain accuracy and attention to detail throughout the creative process.
  • Commercially focused outlook.
  • Understand how to pitch ideas with sketches, wireframes and mock-ups.
  • Able to work well using own initiative, as well as collaborate and work as part of team.
  • HTML and CSS knowledge advantageous.

About the role

Please note this is a 12-month FTC

We are looking for a talented Lead/Senior Packaging Designer to join our highly productive in-house team. You’ll have a minimum of 6-8 years experience in the beauty industry, and significant exposure to branding, primary and secondary packaging, and print collateral. You will be a conceptual designer with a great eye for typography and a thorough understanding of Adobe CC Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. Experience in 2D rendering is a must, 3D rendering is a plus! You should also be a confident illustrator who can sketch ideas and translate drawings into packaging design. You will be able to interpret briefs, be extremely organised and manage your own projects from conception through to completion.  

You will help to develop creative concepts and design ideation for primary and secondary packaging briefs, as well as the delivery of technical artworks. You will be an expert in packaging and print and production, and be confident in presenting your ideas, whilst keeping up-to-date with current beauty and fashion trends.

As a Senior Packaging Designer (2D) you will

  • Design ideation and concept development of all projects 
  • Manage own projects conception through to completion 
  • Present design evolution and ideation of projects to Director of Design 
  • Collaborate and communicate directly with cross-functional NPD, Packaging Development, Copy and Marketing teams 
  • Communicate needs and production requirements to Senior Creative Artworker and Packaging Manager - Continue developing design and strategic skills
  • Participate in weekly design and cross-functional meetings  
  • Review relevant colour/design-sensitive components of packaging  
  • Participate in 1-1 meetings and keep manager up to date  
  • Be a reliable, responsible member of the team  
  • Set a good example to peers and mentor junior team members

About you

  • BA in graphic design of the Arts from a reputable design school and 6-8 years experience in the graphic design field 
  • Computer skills: Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign are essential. 3D skills are a huge plus

  • Good communication and presentation skills

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement responsive, high-performance front-end interfaces that ensure a seamless experience across multiple browsers and devices.

  • Ensure full compliance with accessibility standards, including Section 508 and WCAG guidelines, to create inclusive user experiences for all audiences.

  • Collaborate with design teams to incorporate advanced UI/UX principles, including motion design, micro-interactions, and advanced CSS animations.

  • Experiment with emerging technologies, such as WebAssembly, CSS Grid, and Flexbox, to improve layout precision and performance.
  • Utilize RESTful APIs and integrate front-end interfaces with back-end services, enabling dynamic content updates and real-time data rendering.
  • Employ tools like Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD for design mockups, ensuring alignment with project specifications and client needs.
  • Support integration of the front-end into Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or similar tools/technologies as needed.
  • Develop multi-browser support for www.census.gov, ensuring compatibility with Internet Explorer, Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge.

Basic Qualifications (required)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Design, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in front-end development with strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Solid understanding of accessibility standards, responsive design, and UI/UX best practices.
  • Experience working with Front-End Framework such as VUE,React, or Angular.

Preferred Qualifications

The Senior Director of User Experience will be part of the Product & Technology leadership team, providing thought leadership and ownership on all design decisions.  Additional responsibilities include providing scaled processes to ensure high quality, consistent visual and interactive design, regular status reporting, UX initiative updates, and other responsibilities as assigned. 

The ideal candidate has experience in scaling SAAS organizations, is a motivated self-starter with leadership, management, collaboration, and communication capabilities that can work cross-functionally.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience (10+ years) in user experience design, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role.

  • Degree in UX Design, Interaction Design, User Experience Design, Cognitive Science, or Fine Arts preferred.

  • SaaS & Enterprise-Level UX

    • Experience in designing for SaaS platforms, particularly in complex enterprise environments.

    • Knowledge of user needs in B2B and B2C contexts, including considerations for scalability, integrations, and enterprise clients

  • Design Systems & Component Libraries

    • Proven experience in building and scaling design systems that ensure consistency across products.

    • Knowledge of how to create reusable components that integrate seamlessly into a product development process.

  • UX Research & User Testing

    • Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methods, including usability testing, A/B testing, and ethnographic research.

    • Ability to synthesize user feedback and data into actionable insights that inform design decisions.

  • Interaction Design (IxD) & Information Architecture (IA)

    • Expertise in creating intuitive and efficient user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups.
