What you get to do in this role: 

  • Understand the Security data landscape and work with stakeholders to identify key use-cases for AI.  

  • Research, design, and apply advanced ML algorithms in Snowflake using large-scale datasets, including techniques such as reinforcement learning, deep learning, tree-based methods, gradient boosting, and generative AI models. 

  • Own ML Ops and deploy machine learning models into production systems, ensuring scalability and seamless integration. 

  • Learn and discover key opportunities for AI use of the ServiceNow platform for our security organization.  

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to expand our AI usage on the ServiceNow platform. 

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have:   

  • Strong understanding working with and understanding of the ML/AI tools.  

  • High levels of curiosity and eager enthusiasm for open-ended problems. 

  • Experience and interest in problem formulation based on relatively abstract information. 

  • 3-5 years of experience applying machine learning on large-scale datasets and in pre-processing and analyses of data. 

  • 1-2 years of experience working with LLMs on real-world use cases, including exposure to developer tools like Streamlit 

  • A firm understanding of the basic classes of ML algorithms and their underlying assumptions, including statistics and linear algebra. 

  • Familiarity with XG Boost, NLP, RAG Model 

  • The ability to break complex problems down into sizable pieces and work towards them. 

  • Technical expertise in one or more of the following topics: Anomaly Detection, Clustering, Time-Series Analysis & Forecasting, Natural Language Processing, Uncertainty Quantification. 

  • Domain knowledge and experience in the application of ML to one of the following areas: Security, Sales, Product 

  • Expert-level knowledge working with libraries such as scikit-learn, pandas, SQL, etc. 

  • Demonstrate keen senses of ownership, collaboration, and mentorship. 

  • Outstanding presentation skills to articulate results and complex concepts to all audiences and collaborate and influence leadership. 

  • Demonstrate leadership, with the ability to inspire the team and lead a project to completion. 

Nice to Have 

  • Experience developing on or using the ServiceNow platform especially it’s AI use-cases 

  • Experience building a chatbot from data from documents particularly with RAG 

  • Professional experience developing and building dashboards on Power BI 

  • Experience working with SnowFlake

For positions in this location, we offer a base pay of $136,700 to $232,300, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs.

About the Role

This is a general posting for multiple Data Science roles open across our 4-sided marketplace. You’ll get the chance to learn about the different problems the Data Science team solves as you go through the process. Towards the end of your process, we’ll do a team-matching exercise to determine which of the open roles/teams you’ll join. You can find a blurb on each team at the bottom of this page. 

With regards to level, we have flexibility. Your level will be determined by your education, years of experience, and most importantly, how you perform throughout the interview process. If you're targeting a senior title, you'll need to prove to the team that you're operating at that level. 

 

About the Team

You will be joining a growing data science team and will tackle some of the most challenging and impactful problems that are transforming how people buy groceries every day. You will be embedded within our data-driven product team as a trusted partner in uncovering barriers in the product’s usability and utilize these insights to inform product improvements that drive angle-changing growth. We’re looking for a self-driven, strategic thinker who can hit the ground running to ultimately influence decision-making across the entire organization.

 

ABOUT THE JOB

  • Own analytical frameworks that guide the product roadmap
  • Design rigorous experiments and interpret results to draw detailed and actionable conclusions
  • Develop statistical models to extract trends, measure results, and predict future performance of our product
  • Build simulations to project impact of various product and policy interventions
  • Enable objective decision making across the company by democratizing data through dashboards and other analytical tools
  • Use expertise in causal inference, machine learning, complex systems modeling, behavioral decision theory etc. to shape the future of Instacart

ABOUT YOU

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience working in a quantitative role at a product company or a research organization
  • Ability to run rigorous experiments and come up with scientifically sound recommendations
  • Ability to write complex, efficient, and eloquent SQL queries to extract data
  • Ability to write efficient and eloquent code in Python or R
  • A desire to build and improve consumer software products
  • Ability to translate business needs into analytical frameworks

        The Merchandise Planner will be responsible for developing, executing and maintaining merchandise plans for the Men’s Bottoms business. You will report to a Planning Director and have exposure to Planning & Merchandising Leadership as well as other senior level cross-functional partners. In addition to business management, you will drive forward strategic initiatives with outsized impact across the Planning team, Company-level innovations and our clients. Our ideal candidate will be a self-starting, sharply analytical problem-solver with proven planning acumen and the ability to adapt to the Stitch Fix business model.

        You're excited about this opportunity because you will…

        • Ensure the success of the Men’s Bottoms department by meeting or exceeding plans for sales volume, inventory turnover and gross margin, across multiple Revenue channels
        • Deeply analyze and drive performance across Fix & Freestyle channels 
        • Create pre-season plans and in-season forecasts for multiple product departments 
        • Manage and maintain rolling operating financial forecast (OTB/ROF) in collaboration with buyers to optimize business performance 
        • Recap and analyze actual sales results to plan and forecast in-season sales and inventories on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis
        • Forecast receipt flow to ensure optimal inventory levels that balance liability and opportunity while delivering an excellent client experience   
        • Assess and evaluate inventory risks and opportunities 
        • Responsible for in-season scenario planning as well as actionable recommendations to address business needs 
        • Form strong working relationships with Buying team 
        • Partner directly with Allocation, Operations, Engineering and Data Science teams 
        • Perform ad-hoc analysis based on historical performance, product attributes and customer attributes

        • You have a college degree (preferably a BS in a business-related field) with 5-7 years of prior retail planning and e-commerce experience 
        • You are extremely proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills 
        • You have strong planning and organizational skills 
        • You are experienced in tops-down, bottoms-up planning 
        • You are comfortable and confident making decisions and recommendations grounded in data 
        • You are able to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment that embraces change 
        • You have a bias towards action, results-focused and detail oriented 
        • You possess excellent verbal and written communication skills 
        • You have a solid understanding of retail math, merchandising financials and profitability KPIs

        Compensation and Benefits

        Our anticipated compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets, and the range below indicates the low end of the lowest-compensated market to the high end of the highest-compensated market. This position is eligible for new hire and ongoing grants of restricted stock units depending on employee and company performance.         Salary Range
        $124,000$129,000 USD
