This is a general posting for multiple Data Science roles open across our 4-sided marketplace. You’ll get the chance to learn about the different problems the Data Science team solves as you go through the process. Towards the end of your process, we’ll do a team-matching exercise to determine which of the open roles/teams you’ll join. You can find a blurb on each team at the bottom of this page. 

With regards to level, we have flexibility. Your level will be determined by your education, years of experience, and most importantly, how you perform throughout the interview process. If you're targeting a senior title, you'll need to prove to the team that you're operating at that level. 

About the Team

You will be joining a growing data science team and will tackle some of the most challenging and impactful problems that are transforming how people buy groceries every day. You will be embedded within our data-driven product team as a trusted partner in uncovering barriers in the product’s usability and utilize these insights to inform product improvements that drive angle-changing growth. We’re looking for a self-driven, strategic thinker who can hit the ground running to ultimately influence decision-making across the entire organization.

ABOUT THE JOB

• Own analytical frameworks that guide the product roadmap

ABOUT YOU

Minimum Qualifications

• 2+ years experience working in a quantitative role at a product company or a research organization
• Ability to run rigorous experiments and come up with scientifically sound recommendations
• Ability to write complex, efficient, and eloquent SQL queries to extract data
• Ability to write efficient and eloquent code in Python or R
• A desire to build and improve consumer software products
• Ability to translate business needs into analytical frameworks

Commerce Platform

This team is a key player in driving affordability for Insacart, through the promotion & adoption of retailer loyalty & discount programs. On this team, you'll engage in pricing optimizations at item, category, retailer, and geo levels to foster long-term customer growth. You'll evaluate the effects of the platform's performance improvements, such as latency reduction for ordering and invoicing. 

Growth & Marketing Tech

Instacart's marketing data science team serves as thought partners and problem solvers for the Growth and Marketing orgs, supporting our broader mission to give everyone access to the food they love. We are responsible for understanding the end to end scope of growth marketing, including how marketing shapes and impacts customer behavior both today and in the long run, the efficiency and performance of any marketing technology we utilize, and what the highest ROI investments are in both marketing and marketing technology. New Bets

The New Bets Data Science team exists to provide data-driven insights and strategic guidance around Instacart’s most promising emerging initiatives, collectively known as "new bets”. You will play a critical role in supporting these exciting new bets, including Instacart Business and Health, by establishing data foundations, discovering new opportunities, and evaluating success using your business judgement and experimentation. Senior Data Analyst, Product Analytics

What you'll bring

• 5+ years of work experience using analytics to solve product or business problems, performing statistical analysis, and coding (e.g., Python, R, SQL)

Pay Transparency

The base pay for this role is: $131,200 - $172,200 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar’s unlimited vacation program, company equity grants, and annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the creation, implementation, and maintenance of data pipelines. This includes ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and timeliness of data flow without significant manager oversight.
• Develop new models while maintaining and enhancing our existing capabilities. The role

Agile Six is seeking aSenior Data Scientistto join an agile, cross functional team supporting the Federal Government customers in creating AI-enabled solutions to create better services for beneficiaries, patients, and employees, reduce healthcare provider burnout, and improve care quality. Our team will work closely with the client to identify key challenges, conduct research, and develop AI-driven solutions including machine learning models and AI tools. The salary for this position is $163,506 - $171,891.

As a Lead Data Scientist at Hims & Hers, you will be responsible for identifying opportunities to apply data science and machine learning techniques to improve our marketing, products and processes. You will partner cross-functionally with Analytics, Product, Marketing and Operations to run deep-dive analysis, and build data products. You will partner with analysts, machine learning engineers, and others to build and implement data products that help advance our mission to eliminate stigmas and break down barriers to healthcare access.

You’ll be a leader who has a passion for driving business impact through data science, has strong communication skills, and enjoys doing hands-on work with a deep and broad technical toolset. If you are excited about being part shaping the growing data science organization at Hims & Hers and using data science to disrupt the healthcare industry through innovative solutions– this is the role for you!

You Will:

• Provide technical guidance and thought leadership on data science methodologies, tools, and best practices
• Identify opportunities to apply data science and machine learning solutions across marketing and product, and operations
• Create data science roadmaps that accelerate hims & hers business goals
• Drive projects in areas like marketing optimization, customer segmentation, lifetime value and retention prediction, importance modeling of early customer interactions, and revenue forecasting
• Partner with engineers and business stakeholders to design, develop and deploy ML products end-to-end to drive business outcomes
• Empower the Data Science team through mentorship and collaborative efforts, actively pursuing opportunities to foster cross-team knowledge expansion and mentorship initiative

You Have:

• 10+ years working in Engineering and/or Data Science with a record of building ML models that have a measurable impact on the business
• The ability to deliver business impact in the context of ambiguity and evolving priorities to technical and non-technical stakeholders 
• Ability to develop technical roadmaps for solving complex business problems
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical partners
• Experience developing and putting models into production, while also owning and maintaining production models long-term
• Ability to manipulate large datasets with high dimensionality and complexity; proficiency in SQL and Python 
• Proficiency with ML tools such as pandas, sklearn, PyTorch, or TensorFlow
• MS or PhD degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, or related field

About the Role

The Merchandise Planner will be responsible for developing, executing and maintaining merchandise plans for the Men’s Bottoms business. You will report to a Planning Director and have exposure to Planning & Merchandising Leadership as well as other senior level cross-functional partners. In addition to business management, you will drive forward strategic initiatives with outsized impact across the Planning team, Company-level innovations and our clients. Our ideal candidate will be a self-starting, sharply analytical problem-solver with proven planning acumen and the ability to adapt to the Stitch Fix business model.

You're excited about this opportunity because you will…

• Ensure the success of the Men’s Bottoms department by meeting or exceeding plans for sales volume, inventory turnover and gross margin, across multiple Revenue channels
• Deeply analyze and drive performance across Fix & Freestyle channels 
• Create pre-season plans and in-season forecasts for multiple product departments 
• Manage and maintain rolling operating financial forecast (OTB/ROF) in collaboration with buyers to optimize business performance 
• Recap and analyze actual sales results to plan and forecast in-season sales and inventories on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis
• Forecast receipt flow to ensure optimal inventory levels that balance liability and opportunity while delivering an excellent client experience   
• Assess and evaluate inventory risks and opportunities 
• Responsible for in-season scenario planning as well as actionable recommendations to address business needs 
• Form strong working relationships with Buying team 
• Partner directly with Allocation, Operations, Engineering and Data Science teams 
• Perform ad-hoc analysis based on historical performance, product attributes and customer attributes
