The AI team is responsible for researching, designing, implementing and optimizing cutting edge data science solutions in fields like image tech, NLP or fraud. We’re looking at different methodologies/models and validate them to find the most promising solution to our actual problems.

As a data scientist - working in the AI team - you will be involved in projects of different products lines/business area. As fraud data scientist you’ll be responsible to create end to end pipeline of data collection, signature extraction, feature creation and modelling. As fraud networks can adopt quickly we are dealing heavily with concept drift, continuous model training and continuous feature engineering is a key to success.

Role Responsibilities

  • Research and implement fraud detection pipelines in anti-piracy and brand protection domain
  • Create prototypes demonstrating concepts/results to business in an easy to understand format
  • Work closely with subject matter experts to validate results and share knowledge about the used methodology
  • Try different SOTA architectures and models to achieve best performance both in processing speed and accuracy
  • Take care of the continuously increasing training/test datasets, verify consistency, offer solution for revisiting labeling issues
  • Implement solution based on continuous training principle as fraud behavior is rapidly changing
  • Think creatively about the implemented solutions, advise new features or tools, innovate
  • Collaborate with other Data Scientists to share knowledge and continuously improve other non-fraud related solutions
  • Take part in other machine learning projects utilizing your experiments and general understanding of fraud detection principles


Your Qualifications/Experience

  • MSc or Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence or related field
  • Minimum 3 years relevant industry experience in researching/building data science applications
  • Proficient programming skills in a high-level DS languages (python, R), R shiny experience for prototyping is a plus
  • Experience with working in cloud architectures (AWS, GCP, Kaggle, etc. )
  • Broader knowledge of large dataset processing pipelines and distributed computing architectures (Apache Beam/Airflow, Spark/Hadoop architectures)
  • Knowledge of relational databases, noSQL, memory database technologies, graph processing (Elastic Search, MongoDB, Redis)
  • Experience with GPU backed modelling/inference

About Acacia Center for Justice:

The Acacia Center for Justice is a new non-profit created through a collaboration between the Vera Institute of Justice (“Vera”) and the Capital Area Immigrants’ Rights (“CAIR”) Coalition. The CAIR Coalition is a non-profit organization in the focused on providing legal assistance to adult and child immigrants detained by the government in the Capital Region. CAIR adheres to the fundamental belief that all people – no matter their story – deserve to be free, safe, supported, and have access to a just legal system. 

The objective of the Acacia Center for Justice (“Acacia”) is to expand on Vera’s work over the past twenty years in providing legal support and representation to immigrants facing deportation through the development and management of national networks of legal services providers serving immigrants across the country. Acacia’s goals are two-fold: to help non-profit service providers provide exceptional legal services to immigrants and to advocate for the expansion of these programs and the infrastructure critical to guaranteeing immigrants access to justice, fairness, and freedom. Acacia will focus the collective power of both Vera and CAIR Coalition on delivering accountable, independent, zealous and person-centered legal services and representation to protect the rights of all immigrants at risk of deportation.

Who you are:

The Senior Data Scientist works independently and collaborates with the Senior Research and Evaluation Associate to supervise and implement mandated and ad hoc research, evaluation, and data analytics (including data visualizations and dashboards) across programs. This role is responsible for developing and overseeing complex codebases for data ingestion and reporting and all aspects of the data management process. The Senior Data Scientist employs robust data science tools in support of ingestion, processing, and analyses, especially of administrative datasets provided by the government. They ensure efficiency and cutting-edge technologies are being applied in all aspects of data management, minimizing overall labor time and costs attached to data reporting and analysis across the contract and programs. In this role, they will provide supervision, support, and mentorship to researchers/data scientists working on projects and initiatives across the organization. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Data Infrastructure Management

  • Collaborate with program management staff and external partners to solve difficult data migration, management, and integration challenges;
  • Partner with external consultants to develop and maintain a cloud-based data product ecosystem (e.g., AWS) to automate recurring reporting processes.


  • Develop and manage data science and analytics in support of federal contracts in partnership with other senior research staff, senior programs staff, and external partners; 
  • Employ methodologies such as forecasting, machine learning, network analysis, or survival analysis to inform program evaluation, program performance metrics, and evidence-based program management;  
  • Coordinate with program directors and senior researchers to support Vera’s technical assistance, program management, contract oversight, and broader leadership in the field; 
  • Lead and develop discrete analyses upon request in partnership with senior research staff.

Research Design and Review

  • Partner with the Director of Research and Evaluation and other research leadership to establish a long-term research agenda and research priorities; 
  • Maintain fluency in federal contract requirements as they relate to research and data analysis to ensure that deliverables are responsive and aligned with requirements and best practices around data security and privacy; 
  • Provide consultative advice in the development of research proposals for the purpose of fundraising led by initiative and research leadership;

Team leadership, mentorship, and development

  • Supervise, support, and mentor staff across methodologies responsible for a range of data collection and analytic processes, including oversight of database management, ETL and analytics codebase development, and partnering with 50+ subcontractors nationwide entering program data through Acacia’s databases;
  • Develop and review code using GitHub and mentoring/training other team members in data science methodologies and technical skills;
  • Strategize and build opportunities for professional growth, development, and skill building among supervisees;
  • Support recruitment and hiring for the research team.

Application of research insights

  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of developments in program implementation, program administration, and federal policy to strategically guide analytics in support of the contract and program goals;  
  • Communicate findings from research and data analysis, including representing the work in communication with federal government stakeholders, fielding questions and addressing requests for additional information. 

What qualifications do you need?


  • Commitment to using research and analysis to address and undo racism and inequity in the immigration legal system required; lived experience preferred 
  • Experience with Git and GitHub and dedication to using these tools to conduct peer code reviews and uphold coding standards 
  • Experience leading in a project management role  
  • Experience in a supervision or informal supervision role  
  • Exceptional ability to communicate technical processes to non-technical audiences 
  • Exceptional written and oral communications skills, including the ability to translate and present technical processes to non-technical internal and external audiences
  • Fluency in at least one programming language (e.g. R, Python, C/C++, Java); ability to learn R and other programming languages as-needed while in the role.


  • Bachelors degree + 4-7 years of relevant experience in applied research, computer/data science, natural/social science, or related discipline.  In lieu degree requirement, applicable work or life experience may be considered. 
  • PhD or  Master’s Degree 
  • Experience in the fields of economics, quantitative sociology, computational social science, statistics, measurement, epidemiology, computer science, operations research, or a related field, or experience working on evaluation and measurement on federal contracts 
  • Working knowledge of the AWS data product ecosystem (e.g., S3, ECS, Athena) or similar cloud-based products  
  • Fluency in a language other than English spoken by people impacted by immigration enforcement in the United States

Compensation and Benefits

The compensation range for this position is $94,700 - $100,000. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to experience and performance. Your Impact

As a Data Scientist, you will be working with internal Data Science teams as they develop and deploy complex statistical, machine learning, and deep learning models at scale in pursuit of Royce Geo’s overall analytics vision. Job Description

The ideal candidate will be able to manage multiple aspects of technical and scientific research including aligning internal stakeholders and external partners to help the team achieve concrete research and product development goals.

This role reports to the Head of Data Science of Koneksa Health and partners closely with the Data Science team. 



  • Designs and writes validation study protocols; works on the interface with IRB’s and ethics committees; oversees study conduct as applicable; performs study analysis and writes study reports

  • Provides scientific support; formulates and conducts research on problems of considerable scope and complexity

  • Supports scientific manuscript development and submission efforts, and review process for the data science team and presents work at scientific conferences

  • Develops and consults on study documentation, data analysis plans, and clinical algorithm development while collaborating with other internal teams

  • Ensures timely and accurate completion of research projects

  • Performs other related duties as assigned


  • PhD degree, 3+ years of academic / clinical research experience

  • Has been a PI or co-PI on one or more observational validation studies governed by an IRB

  • Experience in grant applications involving human subjects research

  • Experience in programming (MATLAB, Python) and computational analysis

  • Self-starter attitude with availability to deliver by the deadline, ability to collaborate with multifunctional team within the company

  • Practical knowledge of technology innovation in clinical research

  • Strong scientific publication record and experience presenting at clinical conferences 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to write scientific manuscripts and technical reports

Position at Premier Research

· Interacts with internal and external project team members (including external data source vendors) for multiple projects, as appropriate. Actively contributes to study team discussions, standing meeting agendas, meeting attendance and review and/or documentation of minutes.

· Ability to facilitate clinical database development to properly execute collection, receipt, reporting, review and archiving of quality clinical trial data. Includes eCRF planning discussions, coordination of eCRF review, planning and identification of system and protocol specific edit checks, coordination and proper execution of User Acceptance Testing, and coordination, planning and development for external data sources as needed.  

· Participates in early study team planning of data risk assessment and continuous evaluation of risks throughout course of study. Ability to offer insight or mitigate risks of data loss. 

· Communicate with assigned data team members to ensure tasks are coordinated and executed as per study plans and timelines as appropriate. Ensure training of study specific protocol requirements as appropriate. Identify and communicate gaps in training and support training of data reviewers.

· Ability to create, maintain, execute and properly store data related documentation as outlined in department operation procedures and as required by study  

· Responsible for functional area eTMF filing and quality control activities or equivalent as per study.  Participation in internally and externally managed study audits as required.  

· Oversee study budget applicable to functional area. Identify and communicate potential out of scope activities to project team as appropriate. Work with study team to provide needed information for re-scoping when applicable.  

· Responsible for proper generation, review and reporting of study metrics and financials as needed 

· Execute all tasks as aligned with SOPs, department guidelines and data standards

Job Description

·        Manage and analyze large data sets including clinical registries, administrative data, billing claims, insurance and other data sets and statistical analysis

·        Develop clear and well-structured analytic plans

  • Bachelor’s degree (Information, Operations Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, IT, or Computer Science majors preferred)
  • At least 2-3 years of analytic programming experience, preferably in healthcare
  •  Ability to assess technical challenges and program solutions, and solve complex problems
  • Proven experience in a collaborative team environment and be flexible in taking on multiple projects
