Acquia seeks a passionate Manager of Quality Engineering with expertise in efficient automated testing. You will collaborate with developers, test engineers, and product managers to deliver exceptional SaaS applications. As a key member of the R&D leadership team, you will lead testing strategy and drive test automation requirements.
Our quality engineering team is dedicated to continuous improvement, optimizing testing processes, automation, innovation, and best practices. As the manager of our quality engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring applications and services meet the standards of quality expected in our SaaS software market.
In this role you will:
- Manage a team of high performing quality engineers
- As a hands on manager, design and develop high-quality automated testing code
- Help product team prioritize quality requirements and be a champion of the engineering team in release/sprint planning
- Facilitate automated testing code reviews and establish best practices for automated tests
- Manage performance of direct reports (Review, Rating and Reward)
- Hire and train/retain top talent on the team
- Contribute to the technical architecture of Acquia DAM, PIM, and AI projects
- Collaborate with other engineering managers across the organization
- Collaborate across the other disciplines in the organization (professional services, sales consultants, product management, executive management)
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in managing an engineering team
- 5-10 years of hands on scripting/coding one or more programming languages (Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Groovy, Python) and test automation frameworks (Playwright, Selenium, WebdriverIO, Spock, REST-assured)
- Intermediate SQL expertise & hands on experience with MySQL (or similar relational databases or NoSQL databases)
- Expertise in Data Structures, Algorithms and Multi-threading
- Experience building Microservices and APIs
- Experience with Agile (eg Scrum) and test driven development
- Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD)
- Knowledge on Amazon Web Service (EC2, S3) or Google Cloud or Azure.
Gives you the edge:
- Experience working within a Product development organization and therefore contributing to mid/long-term product roadmap and lifecycle.
- Familiarity with Ruby, Java, JavaScript, Selenium, RSpec
- Experience with distributed, scalable and low latency solutions
- Experience with Linux OS system management
- Hands on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or containerization concepts
