CALSTART is hiring a Remote Communications Project Manager, Light Duty and Mobility Zero-Emission Vehicles

CALSTART seeks an experienced Manager of Communications to join our marketing, communications, and publications team. We are looking for someone with campaign-building expertise, experience managing communications staff and excellent project management skills. Reporting to the Senior Director, Marketing and Communications, you will be responsible for working with CALSTART initiative and program leads on a variety of activities that are driving the transition of cars, buses, and other transportation technologies to zero-emissions. This role focuses on leading a team to develop and deliver communications support to some of the global, national and state-level premier incentive and engagement programs including workplace charging campaigns, infrastructure equity programs, transit and school bus programs and innovative mobility initiatives.   

In 2021, CALSTART will have managed the design and execution of more than $500 million in incentives throughout the U.S., reaching hundreds of fleets, large and small, working with manufacturers, public transit agencies, dealerships, and community/environmental advocates to educate, advise and assist in the transition to clean transportation technologies. The ideal candidate for the Communications Project Manager will be able to oversee multiple simultaneous projects and shift priorities, similar to an agency environment. 

Additionally, the Communications Project Manager will: 

  • Be responsible for overseeing and managing members within the Light-Duty and Mobility communications team, while tracking results, job design, performance appraisals, and other related supervisory duties
    • Develop and execute results-driven, multi-platform communications strategies and plans to support the light-duty, bus, and innovative mobility initiatives in CALSTART
    • Lead public relations, media relations and other communications activities related to the key programs and initiatives
    • Coordinate with the digital communications team on the implementation of digital communications activities including social media, SEO/SEM, email marketing, etc. that support key initiatives
    • Track effectiveness of various campaigns and course correcting as required
    • Manage communications spend and works with vendors and agencies, to create and/or localize communications and marketing activities and develop supporting assets
    • Model communications and project management skills, work well in a team, and create a supportive and positive environment for the team
    • Manage the development and delivery of all marketing materials, communications assets and public relations efforts that support key CALSTART initiatives
    • Support CALSTART initiatives and activities including internal communications, employee retreats/events, annual conference and policy summit
    • Support development of Annual Report with key content from relevant areas of light duty and mobility
    • Support business development efforts

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field
    • Five to seven years of experience in public relations and communication campaign development and execution
    • Five years of experience leading multiple, simultaneous communications campaigns of assorted sizes and geographies
    • Proficiency in developing, executing, and measuring outreach and engagement campaigns using metric-based reporting
    • Strong knowledge of outreach tactics including public relations, media relations, email marketing, social promotion, etc., including in hard to reach and disadvantaged communities
    • Experience developing scopes of work as well as communications plans and budgets
    • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills (AP style), and the ability to edit and coach others in their writing
    • High level of attention to detail including proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and adept at building relationships with different stakeholders

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • A strong network of PR and media contacts in clean transportation and climate would be highly advantageous

    We seek an experienced Project Manager to join our Site Planning team as part of our growing company. In this position, you will be responsible for site planning & site design for our low-rise residential development projects, using United Dwelling’s factory-built (pre-fab) dwelling units. Reporting to the Forward Planning Manager for Site Planning, the Project Manager will prepare plans for low-rise residential projects from schematic design through construction documents, including coordination with internal teams and third-party consultants & engineers. 

    Responsibilities

    • Determine project requirements based on zoning, density, codes & the project scope prepared by United Dwelling’s development team.
    • Prepare schematic site plans for review with internal stakeholders, clients, and consultants, and revise plans based on team comments.
    • Coordinate consultant scope, timelines, plans, and calculations, including architectural, structural, civil, geotechnical, and utility engineering with the drafting and construction teams
    • Develop or coordinate the development of construction documents based on approved schematic plans
    • Work closely with United Dwelling’s permitting team, consultants, and the development team to address plan review comments from local agencies and prepare revised plans for agency review. 

    Requirements

    • 3-5 years of experience in Architecture or Civil Engineering
    • A bachelor's or master’s degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering
    • Knowledge of local residential building codes, zoning codes, and utility requirements
    • Ability to read and knowledgeably comment on architectural, civil & structural plans, surveys, and soil reports and incorporate them into comprehensive construction documents 
    • All in-house drafting is done using Graphisoft's ArchiCAD BIM software. Experience with ArchiCAD is preferred; professional experience with BIM software is required.

    • Work with key stakeholders to establish repeatable process and documentation for development and remediation, from scoping and initial planning to development, test, and delivery

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications, Environmental Studies or related field or equivalent combination of experience and education
    • Customer service in a professional setting
    • Three years of experience or project related work with sustainability and/or transportation
    • Skill in analyzing and interpreting a variety of documents
    • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and the public
    • Ability to utilize and understand computer applications and techniques as necessary in the completion of daily assignments.
    • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
    • Strong ability to meet or exceed deadlines

    IDS is seeking a Project Manager (PM) to oversee and manage programs a federal government client with locations across the globe. This position will be reporting to the headquarter office in Arlington, VA but the job is 100% remote.

     

    The Program Manager should be knowledgeable and experienced in the area(s) of O&M, service logistics, life support, construction, and/or IT contracts are required.

    Responsibilities:

    • Serve as Point-of-Contact and liaison for government stakeholders
    • Manage IDIQ Contracts with high ethical standards, with a sensitivity to the nuances of dealing with international constituents
    • Maintain confidentiality, exercise good judgment, and exhibit excellent customer service
    • Multi-task the management of several full-cycle projects (from conception to completion)
    • Manage all aspects of project management including, but not limited to, budget, schedules, quality assurance, performance management, and meeting the guidelines standards set forth by the contract.
    • Procure essential, competing resources
    • Develop and report metrics on the progress, professional performance, and successful execution of projects
    • Oversee the quality of work with keen attention to detail of deliverables and services.

     

    Required Qualifications:

    • Active Secret Clearance or higher (Top Secret Clearance preferred)
    • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
    • PMP Certification or equivalent
    • 8+ years of management experience supporting federal international programs in the area(s) of O&M, service logistics, life support, construction, and/or IT contracts are required

     

    Knowledge & Skills:

    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

    Must be an effective communicator both verbally and in writing. Most positions require ability to work on a desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time. Computer activities include reading, reviewing and analyzing information, as well as providing recommendations, summaries, and reports in written or verbal format. Additionally, positions require ability to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; as well as speak and hear.

    Employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically less than 20 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
