Responsabilités

  • Capacité à élaborer et à examiner des propositions pour des projets de moyenne à grande envergure dont la portée et les risques ne sont pas clairs.
  • Assurer le suivi des devis en attente et gérer la cohérence des devis en suivant les directives de l’entreprise.
  • Capacité à gérer/élaborer des budgets et des échéanciers en fonction des exigences du projet.
  • Capacité à négocier des ressources supplémentaires et un financement pour traiter les produits livrables qui sortent de la portée initiale du projet.
  • Capacité à prévoir les risques et à développer de manière proactive des plans d’atténuation.
  • Capacité d’influencer les décisions des clients - partage da propre expertise et des connaissances sur les meilleures pratiques.
  • Fournir régulièrement des directives précises et détaillées aux ressources affectées au projet et agit souvent à titre de superviseur fonctionnel.
  • En fonction de la taille du projet, prendre des décisions responsables concernant les questions spécifiques au projet, y compris les budgets, la planification des ressources du projet, la planification, le flux de travail et les activités générales du projet, et les problèmes et conflits en cours.
  • Prodiguer des conseils aux chefs de projet et à l’équipe d’ingénierie sur la façon de gérer les problèmes / différends très difficiles soulevés par les sous-traitants, les fournisseurs et partenaires de livraison.

The Project Manager, ePMO is responsible for all aspects of managing a set of projects associated with Smart Manufacturing principles, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) initiatives, Industrial Controls and Automation technologies, and Systems Integration processes. Grantek Project Managers are in a customer facing role and are expected to use their technical background and knowledge to architect solutions, organize information, lead engineers, and deliver successful outcomes.

Deliverables

  • Ability to develop and review proposals for medium to large projects with unclear scope, risks and aggressive timelines.
  • Follow-up on pending quotes and manage consistency in quoting by following corporate guidelines.
  • Ability to manage/develop budgets and schedules based on project requirements.
  • Ability to negotiate additional resources, and funding to address deliverables that are outside the original scope of the project.
  • Ability to forecast risk and proactively develop mitigation plans
  • Ability to influence customer decisions – shares own expertise and best practice knowledge.
  • Provides specific and detailed direction to assigned project resources on a regular basis and often acts as a functional supervisor.
  • Based on the project size make responsible decisions regarding project specific matters, including budgets, project resource planning,
  • scheduling, general project work-flow and activities, and ongoing issues and conflicts.
  • Gives guidance to project leads and engineering team on how to handle very difficult issues / disputes raised by subcontractors, vendors and
  • delivery partners.
  • Maintain an individual utilization target as set out in the yearly budget.
  • Demonstrates expert level analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.  

  • 3-5+ years managing technical projects with an eye to managing risk, scope, quality and budget.

  • Knowledgeable of customer service and installation processes or experience in the following: forecasts, quotes, orders, installation, and billing.

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with both external customer stakeholders as well as internal cross-functional teams.

The Project Manager role is a new position at PSE, and you will also have an opportunity to help shape project management systems across the organization in collaboration with the Associate Director of Project Management. If you are successful in this role, you will be able to manage key projects across PSE and identify opportunities to streamline project operations. Your role will be crucial in driving the institute's mission of advancing actionable energy science and policy research to address climate, health, equity, and environmental challenges. ROLESandRESPONSIBILITIES

Project Planning, Execution, and Completion: Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and milestones in collaboration with scientific research teams, from kick off through project completion. Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or obstacles, and proactively address them to ensure successful completion.

Team Coordination: Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among team members, including scientific researchers, the communications, development and operations departments, and external partners. Ensure that all project stakeholders are well-informed about project objectives, deliverables, and timelines.

Resource Management: In partnership with scientific research lead and Associate Director of Project Management, support the allocation of project resources effectively. Monitor project expenses, ensuring adherence to budgetary guidelines and processes.

Research Support: Provide administrative and logistical support to researchers, including coordinating meetings, managing project tracking systems and documentation, and coordinating the preparation of reports, presentations, and publications.

Quality Control: Ensure that research projects are compliant and adhere to established reporting requirements. Conduct regular reviews of project outputs, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing corrective measures when necessary.

Improvement of Project Management Systems: Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices in project management methodologies. Contribute to the Project Management team’s development of standardized project management frameworks and tools.

It is not expected that a single candidate will have expertise across all these areas—we’re seeking candidates that are particularly strong in a few areas and have some interest, capabilities, and willingness to learn in others.

REQUIRED SKILLS

In addition to an ability to meet the above responsibilities, the ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proven experience (at least 3+ years) in project management.
  • Strong knowledge of and passion for climate, environment, energy, public health, and/or energy policy issue areas, with an understanding of current trends and challenges in the field or a willingness to learn relevant subject matter.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management software, methods, and tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A sense of humor.


DESIRED SKILLS

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Project Management, Business Administration, Energy Science, Environmental Studies, Policy, Engineering).
  • Experience in an academic, scientific, or research environment.
  • Project management training or certification (PMP etc.)
  • Experience in an energy- or climate-related field.
  • Experience with Google Workspace and Asana.
  • Familiarity with Slack.


LOCATION

Remote within the United States.

SALARY
The anticipated salary range is $90,000 - $100,000, though the successful candidate could be hired above or below this range depending on qualifications and geographic location.
