We’re looking for aSenior Data Scientistto join our quickly growing team and make a big impact.

As a senior data scientist in the Tech org, you’ll work closely with data scientists, software engineers, product managers, and designers, to develop Machine Learning technologies which help simplify the jobs of our users. You’ll work on major technical projects with large data volumes, lead the building of new features, and help shape our engineering culture and processes. Our technology team is focused on scale, quality, delivery, and thoughtful customer experience. 

To be set up for success in this role, you’ll need to have:

  • 5+ years total professional experience with Machine Learning or Statistical Analysis
  • A capacity for a high degree of autonomy and out-of-the-box thinking
  • The ability to write sophisticated data analysis & machine learning code in Python
  • A commitment to collaborating closely with other engineers and across functions

  • Worked on a complex, high-traffic site at a startup or software-as-a-service company, ideally with large amounts of data

  • Perform an analysis to make a recommendation to other team members as to whether data science methods can be used to solve a given problem
  • Research and evaluate new analytical methodologies, approaches, and solutions
  • Build, test, and deploy supervised or unsupervised learning models
  • Write queries (SQL, elastic search) to grab the right set of data to solve their problem
  • Build tools to enable other data scientists to scale their knowledge and increase impact
  • Interpret and communicate analytic results to analytical and non-analytical business partners and executive decision makers
  • Participate in code reviews and model reviews of their teammates

Salary

The starting salary for this role is between $140,000 - $172,000, depending on skills and experience. We take a geo-neutral approach to compensation within the US, meaning that we pay based on job function and level, not location. For all other countries, we have competitive pay bands based on market standards.

About the Role

Twitch is looking for candidates to join our Security Incident Response Team (SIRT). Reporting to the Senior Manager of Incident Response under our Director of Security Resilience, our SIRT's mission is to help Twitch find, communicate about, handle, recover from, and especially learn from security incidents. You Will:

  • Participate in an on-call rotation that includes your peers on the SIRT
  • Qualify reports or alerts of activity as security incidents using clear guidelines that establish what a security incident is
  • Evaluate the potential and realized impact of security incidents to Twitch
  • Analyze threat actor tactics, techniques, and procedures
  • Participate in information sharing groups; communicate securely and responsibly
  • Write and follow clear procedures so that our work can be accountable, repeated, measured, and improved

You Have:

  • 3+ years relevant experience doing information security work or equivalent BS degree in Information Security, Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related fields

  • Knowledge of internet security issues and threat landscape
  • Background in cloud, host, network, and application security

OVERVIEW

 

We are looking for economists and machine learning engineers to join our fast-moving team. The Economics team at Instacart works on a range of interesting and challenging problems, from aligning the incentives in our multi-sided marketplace to analyzing the role of prices and product placement in our customers' decision-making.

The ideal candidate for this role will bring a combination of experience in both economics and machine learning. This might be a recent economics PhD graduate with relevant research experience, typically in  computationally intensive empirical topics, as well as some exposure to machine learning coursework and applications. We are also interested in candidates with industry experience in the creation, deployment, and maintenance of machine learning models at scale, especially if they have some background or experience in economics or an economics-adjacent field.

 

 

ABOUT THE TEAM

The Economics team at Instacart works on a range of interesting and challenging problems, from aligning the incentives in our multi-sided marketplace to analyzing the role of prices and product placement in our customers' decision-making. Some of the core areas of focus for our team include pricing, online advertising, uplift and long term value modeling, and general causal inference.

 

 

ABOUT THE JOB

  • You will help design and build end-to-end machine learning solutions
  • You will be working in small and cross-functional product teams, with great opportunities for growth and ownership of projects
  • You will be an active member of an internal community, including economists, data scientists, operations research scientists and machine learning engineers, sharing learnings, best practices and research across many domains
  • You will develop high impact solutions to support Instacart's ambitious growth plans
  • You will work closely with engineers, product managers, other teams, and both internal and external stakeholders, owning a large part of the process from problem understanding to recommending a solution and testing it in controlled experiments
  • You will have the freedom to suggest and drive organization-wide initiatives

 

 

ABOUT YOU

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate-level research experience on data-intense problems or 1+ years of industry experience in machine learning or economics-focused roles
  • A blend of economic theory, applied econometrics, and business skills that let you jump into a fast-paced environment and contribute from day one
  • Expertise in causal inference with observational and experimental data
  • Strong engineering skills with expertise in R or Python and fluency in data manipulation (SQL, Pandas) and machine learning (scikit-learn, XGBoost, Keras/Tensorflow) tools
  • An ability to identify and prioritize high-impact problems and deliver solutions that provide reasonable trade-offs between urgency and quality
  • Willing and able to travel internationally based on job requirements
  • Self-motivation and a strong sense of ownership

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Cloud Infrastructure and DevOps Help Desk Specialist to join our team. This role is crucial in supporting our cloud-based services and internal development operations, providing both in-depth technical assistance and high-level customer service.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in cloud technologies, DevOps practices, and a passion for solving complex technical issues.

This is a full-time fully remote position for Latin American-based applicants within +/- 2 hours of Eastern Standard Time Zones (NYC). Resume must demonstrate professional English ability.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-level contact and problem resolution for all users with hardware, software, and application problems.
  • Resolve as many user-reported problems as expertise permits using available tools and following procedures and policies for the handling of support cases.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to appropriate internal teams, possibly including cloud architects and senior DevOps engineers.
  • Document incident resolutions and maintain a knowledge database for problem management.
  • Collaborate with IT and cloud project teams to understand and support new deployments and service offerings.
  • Educate end-users and internal teams on new cloud technologies and DevOps tools.
  • Monitor cloud environments and automated processes, and report on their status and efficiency.
  • Implement minor updates to cloud configurations and scripts under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Assist in the creation of system documentation and user manuals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a technical help desk or support role, ideally with a focus on cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and DevOps tools (Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines).
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, operating systems (Linux, Windows), and database systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues.

Preferred skills:

  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Exceptional communication and customer service skills, with an ability to provide step-by-step technical help both written and verbally.
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, or CompTIA Cloud+ are highly desirable.
