Job Description

The Cloud Network Infrastructure Engineer would meaningfully contribute to project delivery with hands-on experience with migrating applications and infrastructure to the cloud. The engineer will work to design and build automated operational processes focusing on scalable cloud deployments with the paradigm of infrastructure & cloud network aspects. Cloud Network Engineer will help build and train its next-generation Cloud Network and Security offering. The engineer must be comfortable working on multiple routing, switching, load balancing, and security platforms.

You will be dynamic, and responsibilities range from all aspects of network design, implementation, operation, and support. You will require advanced knowledge of multiple network technologies. The role will be a critical member of an Agile enterprise cloud network engineering team working to build and support multi-cloud/hybrid solutions. You will bring a strong background in automated software engineering and cloud operations at enterprise scale with strong emphasis on collaboration and communication, interacting with important internal business unit partners. 

Reporting to the Director of Network Services.

 

Summary of Primary Responsibilities

  • An expert level knowledge of the OSI network model, Ethernet, and TCP/IP networking
  • Expert level knowledge of the following network routing protocols - BGP, OSPF, VXLAN/EVPN
  • Experience with Cisco, CheckPoint, Palo Alto, & Fortinet Firewalls
  • Develop infrastructure as code on AWS, Azure, GCP, & GCP using best practices and implementations for non-production and production environments
  • Advanced level knowledge of automation frameworks such a Ansible, Terraform or Python development experience
  • Implement configuration and deployment automation towards improving functionality, availability, and manageability of our enterprise cloud offerings
  • An advanced level of experience implementing and administrating common TCP/IP-based services, including DNS, DHCP, HTTP, FTP, SSH, SMTP, etc
  • Expertise at network documentation, IPAM, Visio, LucidCharts, SharePoint, and Confluence
  • Knowledge of common network monitoring platforms such as NNMI, ThousandEyes, Prometheus, Grafana, & Dynatrace
  • Lead technical operations on important initiatives from requirements to design to implementation
  • Ensure the availability, performance, reliability, and reporting of global cloud data centers and enterprise networks 
  • Improve productivity in delivery orchestration, proactive monitoring, self-healing automation and operations validations 
  • Ensure problem resolution related to these mission-critical services and build automation to proactively detect and prevent their re-occurrences
  • Communicate reaching across functional borders to analyze, tune, and configure automated platform infrastructure and systems 

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of validated experience in managing, provisioning, and supporting network technologies in a large globally diverse environment
  • 4+ years of experience in network operations or engineer role at an ISP or network services provider comprising of designing, developing, and operating scalable cloud infrastructure services
  • Deep network code skills with experience in cloud infrastructure project with hands-on migration expertise on public clouds such as AWS and Azure
  • Background in Software Defined Networking (vxlan, QoS, VIPs, etc...)
  • Experience Linux/Unix and/or Windows Integration and Administration 
  • Experience in automation/configuration management using Chef, Ansible, Terraform or an equivalent
  • Experience with Programmable Network Hardware
  • Proficient in networking and core Internet Protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP and routing in distributed networks
  • Knowledge about writing Templates to build cloud services as code (IaC) on Technologies like Terraform, Cloud Formation or any IaC Tool
  • Understand Authentication & Authorization Services, Identity & Access Management
  • Experience working with AIPs designing RESTful services and integrated with other providers

The Global Network Implementation organization is looking for a Senior Network Engineer to provide subject matter expertise to support the Global WAN which spans all BUs and regions. You will create the Low-Level Design (LLD) and Deployment Engineering plan for projects which improve, enhance, or expand our connectivity footprint for usage of Revenue, Non-Revenue, and Cloud based resources.

Summary of Primary Responsibilities

  • You will provide network design and implementation strategies, migration plans, and technical project support for low to high level complexity projects.

  • Prepare Business Cases, financial analysis sheets, deployment plans, and detailed bills of materials in preparation for presentation to Leadership to review for new deployments
  • Perform hands-on configurations for new deployments
  • Prepare Build documents and Operational Support procedures and perform knowledge transfer to the Network Operations to guarantee a smooth onboarding of new deployments
  • Design, implement and manage the network and security systems within a secure multi-tenant cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP..) environment.

  • Designing data pipelines and automating ETL processes and SQL optimization, which will influence the “next generation” for Gemini’s ledger reconciliation processes and reporting.
  • Partnering with teams throughout the organization for all types of data reconciliation – both ad hoc and scheduled.
  • Creating data validation processes, customized reporting, and investigating the underlying root cause for exception reports.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+years implementing a reconciliation system while improving existing data pipelines.

Our Software Engineering internship is a 12 or 16-week hybrid summer experience focused on making a significant impact on our customers by being embedded directly into our engineering teams. Pay and benefits

Our cash compensation range for this role is $58.65/hr for undergraduate students and $64.42/hr for graduate students in San Francisco and New York City. In Denver, our compensation range is $46.63/hr for undergraduate students and $51.44/hr for graduate students. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.


Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 daysper week (or more depending on role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles, Gusto's subsidiary, whose physical office is in Scottsdale.

    Position description:

    PredictionHealth is looking for a (paid) software and DevOps engineering intern who is flexible, fast to pick up new skills, and dedicated to maintaining and improving a production system. The intern will have direct responsibilities involving development and operations using Google Cloud Platform, Amazon Web Services, and similar as our service scales up to support more users. Additional development tasks may involve web-interaction-based robotic process automation and collection and processing of data for data science purposes.

    Applicants should work well under time pressure as this role may from time to time involve putting out figurative “fires” and providing support to important clinical users.

    Requirements:

    - Exposure to GCP and/or AWS

    - Experience with Python

    - Familiarity with GCP’s Datastore and/or more standard SQL databases

    - Courses and prior experience in computer science and software engineering

    Preferred:

    - Proficiency with JavaScript

    - Experience launching and maintaining cloud servers

    - Use of UI automation tools like Selenium (preferred) or PyAutoGUI.
