Job Description

As a Quality Assurance Engineer, you’ll be part of an innovative, passionate, and detail-oriented quality assurance team that works closely with design, product, engineering, and support teams to ensure the safety and stability of our products. This is a full-time, temporary, contract position. (Anticipated duration is March through June, 2022.) 

Responsibilities include:

  • Writing and executing manual black box tests for Tidepool software.
  • Maintaining, developing, and executing test cases for our current automation suites.
  • Collaborating closely with the engineering team to devise and execute new tests and test strategies.
  • Diving deep when problems are found to help identify and document root causes.
  • Collaborating closely with our product, development, and design teams on designing and executing our alpha and beta test programs.
  • Collaborating with fellow QAE to establish and evolve QA processes.
  • Being a representative of QA in sprint plannings, project huddles, and other cross-functional meetings. 



The ideal candidate has:

  • 2+ years experience doing black box quality assurance testing for desktop, web, and mobile software.
  • Knowledge of QA methodologies and best practices.
  • Strong programming fundamentals in Javascript.
  • Knowledge of page object modeling with regard to test automation is a huge plus.
  • Experience participating in, and better yet running, alpha and beta programs for pre-released software.
  • Experience with test automation tools like Ghost Inspector, BrowserStack, Detox, Postman, or Nightwatch.js.
  • Thorough attention to detail and willingness to be diligent in the creation and maintenance of documentation.
  • Experience with test case design, writing bug reports, and using test case management software.
  • Experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, and Google Docs.
  • Equally comfortable setting up and using Windows and Mac, iOS and Android.
  • Experience setting up and using diabetes devices is a big plus.
  • Experience with regulatory quality systems, 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485 is a big plus.
  • Experience with accessibility testing and compliance with WCAG 2.1 is another big plus.

Reporting to the Senior QA Engineer, as part of the engineering team you will:

  • Write & execute manual test plans.
  • Estimate, prioritise, plan and coordinate testing activities.
  • Test cross-browser and cross-device for mobile and desktop sites.
  • Identify, record and track bugs.
  • Learn to fix and run automated tests.

The Senior Data Warehouse Quality Assurance Engineer has a strong background in quality assurance and specialized experience with data warehouses, APIs, ETL testing and SQL scripting. They will work closely with our product management, software engineers, and other Privia partners to ensure that all released content meets requirements and that we deliver quality products to both internal and external stakeholders. The Senior Data Warehouse Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all released code meets Privia’s high quality standards and ensures software projects are accurately documented and that coded features fulfill the acceptance criteria as outlined. They utilize various testing methods to ensure quality, including black box, white box, regression, and automated testing.  The Senior Data Warehouse Quality Assurance Engineer works with the Product Owners and engineering team to define, achieve, and maintain quality.

Primary Job Duties:

  • Work with stakeholders, product owners and engineers to understand complex data systems and interfaces in order to determine efficient analysis and testing approaches.

  • Proactively identify problems with acceptance criteria (lack of clarity, inconsistencies, technical limitations) and communicates these issues early 

  • Write, execute and maintain both manual and automated test cases for functional, integration and regression testing which includes translating both simple and complex business rules to SQL queries and executing those queries to validate data quality and accuracy and ensure that it meets agreed-upon requirements and applicable QA standards.

  • Manage and report test results which will require clear and concise documentation and an ability to conduct root cause analysis and communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical personnel.

  • Maintaining test environments to include managing test data, configuring systems for specific test needs, ensuring compliance with devops standards, and tracking and resolving issue reports (e.g. bugsnag) and monitoring alerts

  • Strive towards subject matter expertise and mentor and motivate team members both within QA and the broader team.

  • Recognizes needs across the Product Engineering team and suggests new processes or systems to increase effectiveness including helping drive QA efforts towards continuous process improvement, building automation best practices, and improving documentation and processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 6 years relevant experience

  • Working in data warehouse testing
  • Writing test cases and test plans, both manual and automated

  • Writing advanced SQL queries

  • Utilizing an enterprise-class test management tool

  • Working in a ticket management system

  • Specialized experience with SQL scripting for data warehouses and ETLs

AccuLyn is hiring a Remote QA Engineer

The QA Engineer role at AccuLynx requires someone who is a problem solver, critical thinker, and is passionate about the user experience. What will you do?

  • Design, develop, and execute automated API, service and UI tests, primarily focused on regression and deployment testing.
  • Incorporate automated tests into our CI/CD pipeline.
  • Enhance and maintain test automation libraries and frameworks.
  • Work collaboratively with QA analysts, developers and product managers to identify test requirements and automation opportunities to help improve the efficiency and depth of test coverage.
  • As needed, assist in planning and executing manual functional, regression and deployment tests.
  • Document, communicate and facilitate correction of defects discovered during the product life-cycle.
  • During project planning help identify project risks.
  • Contribute, provide input, and continuously strive to improve all aspects of the product development life cycle.
  • Work as a member of a smart and passionate agile software development team.
  • Own the quality of AccuLynx’s products throughout the development lifecycle.

What should you have?

  • A passion for software and technology in general.
  • Aptitude for learning and a drive to get things done.
  • 2+ years’ experience as a software developer in test, or equivalent application development experience.
  • Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD practices.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
  • Experience with source control tools such as Git, TFS, SVN (Git preferred).
  • Excellent written, oral communication, and organizational skills.
  • A proactive style with the ability to follow through on commitments and understand the importance of deadlines.

Have these? Even better!

  • Direct experience with the Microsoft development technology stack (Visual Studio/VS Code, .NET/C#, SQL Server).
  • Automation experience using .NET/C# with NUnit and Selenium.
  • Familiarity with other technologies in use at AccuLynx including gRPC, RESTful services, Kubernetes, TeamCity, GitLab, JavaScript, Postman, BloomRPC/Kreya, HTML/CSS
  • Performance testing experience and experience with performance testing tools.

Within 2 months, working with our best experts, you will master the basic practical skills and study the peculiarities of working in e-commerce on the Magento and Salesforce Commerce Cloud platforms. At the end of the program, you will have a chance to join our production teams to work with inspiring and large-scale projects.
