About the Role

As a Staff Data Scientist at SonderMind you will be a leader in the technology organization (product, engineering and applied science), working on solving a diverse set of problems in the mental healthcare space. From helping clinicians grow and manage their practices, to personalizing self-care and matching appropriate providers with clients who are ready for clinical care, your primary role will be to drive success for all of these scenarios through the development of data-driven ML/AI services. This role will also play a large role building and monitoring generative AI agents in production. What does success look like?

The data products being developed in this role will directly impact clinicians and their clients at all stages of their mental healthcare journey: The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about designing and implementing ML/AI data products and systems in this space, and has the technical skillset to directly contribute to these initiatives as they ramp up. A strong sense of language model embeddings and fine tuning capabilities, combined with familiarity with GenAI agentic strategies is a must. As time goes on the candidate should be able to independently identify and communicate new opportunities where data science may be applied to improve clinician and client workflows and healthcare quality. Technical success in this role will be measured by the delivery of production services and demonstrated leadership to problem solve challenges along the way. Cultural success in this role will be measured by positive cross-functional interactions and a curious, solution-oriented approach to questions and conversations brought to the applied science and data engineering organization.

Who You Are 

• Ph.D. (preferred) or M.S. in a quantitative science such as computer science, engineering, data science, applied mathematics, statistics, etc.
• 5+ years of preparing and deploying ML/AI data products
• Prior experience at early- to mid-stage growth companies is preferred
• Experience in the health-tech and/or mental health space is a strong bonus
• Strong statistics and experimental design background
• Proficiency with Python programming language
• Expertise in recommender systems utilizing multiple underlying technologies such as reinforcement learning and collaborative filtering

As the Drug Value Strategy Senior Manager, you will be using your coding skills to manage and transform big data into meaningful information and customized solutions for our clients. For this critical role, the best person would be a current coding professional (Python, R, SQL, etc.)  that loves to develop creative solutions and visualizations to effectively and efficiently solve problems and communicate analysis. 

The person in this critical role will be focused on developing the best tools to provide advanced data reporting for our clients.  One area of responsibility for this role is specialty report development.  This includes reporting for the specialty pharmacy network’s current cost saving initiatives and auditing of specialty claims.  This role would also be communicating with the specialty network and other key external stakeholders on a regular basis to ensure accurate and consistent reporting. The fundamentals for the job…

• Design and develop data solutions - utilize data mining, data modeling, natural language processing, and machine learning to extract insights from large data sources.
• Evaluate data scenarios through a product-oriented lens and deliver predictive models that inform business solutions as part of the drug value strategy portfolio.
• Utilize data-oriented programming languages and visualization software to explore, analyze, and interpret large volumes of data in various forms and solve complex business problems.
• Lead the development of analytic tools that will provide data reporting for our clients.
• Develop and manage new and innovative specialty programs based on collaboration with the specialty network of pharmacies and track progress (partnerships (i.e. ROI, launch of initiatives, outreach, metric tracking, etc.)
• Develop monthly and quarterly specialty spend reports to include initiatives, trends in the market, pipeline drugs, and other impactful events
• Optimize and manage specialty claims auditing process (in conjunction with analytics team)
• Drive generation of client-facing tools that help with feasibility, context, and budget and drug forecast models
• Serve as a SME to the analytics team to develop complex reporting.

What we expect of you

The bold requirements… 

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related area of study, or equivalent combination of education and/or related work experience (In lieu of a degree, equivalent relevant experience may be considered.)
• 8+ years of experience with working with healthcare data analytics (e.g. medical and pharmacy claims data)
• 2+ years of experience with medical or pharmacy data in a health plan or pharmacy benefit manager (PBM).
• Excellent written, interpersonal communication, and presentation skills, including ability to present complex technical concepts in a clear, concise manner to audiences with varying levels of technical understanding
• Experience in Python, R, SQL, advanced statistical methods, and advanced proficiency to utilize data-oriented programming languages, statistical modeling, and visualization software (such as Tableau, PowerBI, etc.)
• Experience with cloud-based data analysis (such as Snowflake)
• Strong problem-solving skills in healthcare cost and utilization analysis
• Experience in project management, KPI’s, and data visualization.
• Experience managing key strategic initiatives in healthcare/PBM industry.

• Multiple successfully completed data science projects involving ML or algorithm application. For example, prediction of clinical outcomes (disease state complications using support vector machines).

• Significant experience in formulary and regulatory requirements for Medicaid and/or Medicare

The Basics

We are seeking a seasoned Staff Data Scientist with a strong mathematical foundation to join Tanium’s AI team. Tanium is the first-mover in delivering on the promise of autonomous endpoint management (AEM). Powered by Tanium AI, AEM will deliver comprehensive, autonomous management of endpoints, including security, incident response, patching, change management, and performance monitoring capabilities. 

The Staff Data Scientist will work closely with cross-functional teams to lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced models that deliver autonomous action across Tanium’s suite of solutions. Particular focus will be on the development of the algorithms that serve as inputs AI results (e.g., confidence scoring).

• Conduct research and analysis to identify data patterns and trends that can be leveraged for AI model development.

What you’ll get

The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $135,000 to $410,000. This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, training, and experience.

About the Role: 

We seek a Senior Data Scientist to play a pivotal role in advancing Tubi's Experimentation platform. You will contribute to the company’s data-driven experimentation process, supporting continuous improvements to the user experience and the organization's strategies. You will be involved in designing, analyzing, and interpreting our testing calendar, which includes A/B, holdout, MMT, and switchback tests. You will advance our technical infrastructure to improve test velocity and statistical rigor. Finally, you will provide insights and recommendations to inform data-driven decisions across all departments.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute experimentation strategies, fostering a culture of innovation
• Enhance statistical rigor, metric alignment, transparency, and effectiveness of Tubi’s experiment frameworks
• Research advanced features and methods to add to the experimentation pipeline, aiming to reduce test duration, increase sensitivity, accurately determine sample size, etc
• Define and select experiment proxy metrics that align with the company’s North Star objectives
• Provide expert evaluation of experiment design, including pre-test planning, in-flight monitoring, and post-experiment analysis for graduation decisions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute domain-specific and global holdout tests, measuring the individual and collective impact of the company’s initiatives

Your Background:

• Strong technical experience in a data science role, with emphasis on A/B testing and experimentation in a technology-focused organization
• Deep knowledge of experimental design, statistical methods, and best practices in A/B testing and causal inference
• Advanced proficiency in programming and data manipulation using SQL, Python, and Spark
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical analysis and the ability to derive insights from large datasets
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex findings in a structured and transparent manner to non-technical stakeholders

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is listed annually below.
