We’re looking for a Front-end Engineer to join our Designer team to help build highly personalized web and visual design experiences utilizing Webflow Designer. In this role you will execute the technical direction and partner closely with other engineers on the team. Additionally, you will help cross-functional efforts to drive even greater impact internally and externally for our core product.

  • The cash compensation for this role is tailored to align with the cost of labor in different geographic markets. We've structured the base pay ranges for this role into zones for our geographic markets, and the specific base pay within the range will be determined by the candidate’s geographic location, job-related experience, knowledge, qualifications, and skills.

      • EUR 60 100 - EUR 78 100
    • United Kingdom  (All figures cited below in GBP and pertain to workers in the United Kingdom)

As a Frontend Engineer, you’ll … 

  • Write performant and accessible User Interfaces that power the Webflow visual design experience
  • Work on technologies such as React,js, Javascript/Typescript, HTML, and CSS
  • Have a strong understanding and expertise in at least one technical domain
  • Contribute to building and executing on functional strategy
  • Scope and implement technical solutions with minimal guidance
  • Produce and elevate the quality of maintainable, tested, performant, and scalable code
  • Collaborate product managers and designers in an autonomous, supportive team environment
  • Participate in engineering citizenship activities such as co-authoring engineering blogs, strengthening and improving our hiring processes, and internal hackathon teams

About you 

You’ll thrive as a Frontend Engineer if you…

  • Have 3+ years of experience working as a FE/UI engineer with a proven track record of shipping code
  • Are proficient in advanced React and CSS patterns
  • Have a deep, foundational understanding of Javascript and/or Typescript
  • Experience with testing frameworks (e.g. Jest, Mocha, Playwright, Cypress)
  • Treat web accessibility as a top priority
  • Have experience working with feature teams on customer-facing products, shipping and iterating to solve customer problems
  • Value testing and documentation equally as much as your code
  • Are comfortable with ambiguity and scoping solutions with your teammates

THE ROLE

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 10+ years experience building world-class product experiences for an interactive web-app. In particular, you have built and maintained scalable backend services, as well as complex, stateful frontend user interfaces.

Overview:

Join the Platform Foundation team at LivePerson! We’re in search of a Senior Frontend Engineer to become part of our dynamic environment. Your responsibilities will involve engaging in various projects across different company domains to streamline and help improving customer-brand interactions via messaging platforms. Collaboration is essential as you collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and major clients to create exceptional products. Our focus is on the core services such as the personal data deletion framework, the service registry, which are at the heart of the LivePerson’s products.

You will: 

  • Work collaboratively in a cross-functional team (PM, UX, engineering, science) team to transform user stories into prototypes & production code
  • Thoughtfully apply UI design principles & best practices for RWD
  • Building & deploying user-facing features for multiple browsers
  • Identifying & eliminating perf. & scale issues that ripple from front-end to back-end
  • Be globally minded & inclusive - we are a global team and value the diverse contributions of others.

You have:

  • 8+ years of experience in Web Intensive applications
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of client-side architecture and experience in building large scale and high performance web applications
  • Proficient in understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3
  • Experience using vanilla JS
  • Experience using CSS preprocessors such as SASS or LESS
  • Experience using build tools such as Webpack, Gulp or Grunt.
  • Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX
  • Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
  • Good understanding of scalability design principles
  • Understanding principles of design and knowledge of user experience and accessibility
  • Self-starter with strong motivation and execution capabilities
  • Knowledge of frontend testing frameworks such as Jasmine and Karma is a plus
  • Proficiency with JavaScript ES6 and Typescript is a plus

  • Design and develop high-volume, low-latency applications for important systems and delivering high-availability and performance
  • Design complex high performance backend services using Java
  • Develop technical specifications and documentation
  • Debug production issues and help maintain existing code
  • Participate in on-call rotations

You have:

  • Bachelor's or Masters degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • At least 2+ years of software development experience
  • Programming skills in Java
  • Experience working with public cloud platforms like AWS / GCP
  • Experience in Kubernetes
  • Experience with Git, Jenkins, and other Development tools
  • Experience debugging/testing applications
  • Experience building RESTful microservices
  • Familiar with basic Devops tasks for deploying applications in dev/test environments

The Challenge to Solve

To enable us to provide flexible, backend-driven, user-focused experiences via our Consumer web and app products.

The Role

You will contribute value as a backend software engineer, as part of an agile, cross-functional team. You’ll work closely with your colleagues to help the team provide best-in-class user experiences to independent-pizza-buying consumers via our web, iOS, and Android apps, powered by the backend services you will create & nurture!

You will develop and evolve various microservices to dynamically power smart, data-driven user experiences. This will help Slice ensure it engages our shop partners’ consumers as effectively as possible, delighting them and driving order growth for the independent pizzerias we love and help to keep thriving daily!

You’ll be using, learning, and mastering your skills in a range of tech, including:

  • languages such as Golang, Python, & Ruby On Rails
  • cloud infrastructure including AWS & Google Cloud Platform
  • document and relational databases such as DynamoDB, MySQL, MongoDB
  • messaging using Kafka, RabbitMQ

The Team

The product engineering squads are moving towards a truly cross-functional operating model (that’s why we need you!), comprising a blend of both frontend and backend engineers, QA engineers, Product ownership, and UX/Design specialists. 

Our teams are a blend of co-located and remote Slicers, in locations including the US, South America, Northern Ireland, and eastern Europe.

The Winning Recipe

We’re looking for creative, entrepreneurial engineers who are excited to build world-class products for small business counters. These are the core competencies this role calls for:

  • 3+ years of experience working in consumer facing software development orgs
  • Minimum of 1.5 years experience using at least two of: Golang, Python, Ruby. We’ll also consider other OO languages
  • A Product Engineering mindset or better still, experience working in Product Engineering organisation as part of an agile cross functional team
  • Experience working with one or more of AWS, GCP, Azure cloud environments
  • Familiarity with microservice architectures, “backends-for-frontends”, that have powered consumer facing apps (these could be iOS, Android, React Native, Web based)
  • A can-do, self starting attitude, you’ll embrace change and help others do the same through positive actions
